Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.A. at Cluster University of Jammu?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's what we found:

* Teaching Quality: Unfortunately, many students reported that the teachers are not helpful, poorly trained, and the quality of teaching is low.

* Curriculum: The curriculum is not industry-ready, and exams have unpredictable schedules, making it challenging for students to manage.

* Placement Opportunities: According to most students, there are almost no placement opportunities for B.A. graduates, and those who do get placed typically receive offers ranging from INR2-INR5 Lakh per annum.

* Infrastructure: The academic block is outdated, with inadequate facilities, including non-airconditioned classrooms. Hostel rooms lack proper internet connectivity.

* Campus Life: Social life on campus is minimal, with no festivals, fairs, or farewell events. Students have limited recreational options.

It appears that while the university may offer some positives, such as a large campus and decent hostels, these drawbacks significantly outweigh the benefits. Therefore, it's essential to consider alternative options when deciding whether to pursue a B.A. at Cluster University of Jammu.

If you're interested in studying B.A., it's crucial to weigh the pros and cons carefully and explore other colleges and institutions offering similar programs. Q:   Is Cluster University of Jammu good for B.Com?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary:

* Teaching: Faculty members are generally helpful and knowledgeable, although some teachers are not engaged in teaching.
* Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant, but some students feel it could be more industry-focused.
* Placements: Unfortunately, the college does not provide placements or internships, leaving students to fend for themselves. Some students reported searching for jobs on their own without success.
* Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is subpar, with outdated classrooms, limited Wi-Fi, and poorly maintained amenities like bathrooms and canteens.
* Campus Life: While there are some extracurricular activities, the overall atmosphere could be improved.

Overall, while the faculty seems committed to teaching, the lack of placements and substandard infrastructure might deter potential applicants. However, the college does have a decent library and some helpful teachers.

Here's a breakdown of the key concerns:

* Placements (no placements or internships)
* Infrastructure (outdated classrooms, limited Wi-Fi, poorly maintained amenities)

Some students did mention that the college is suitable for those who want to focus on competitive exams or entrepreneurship, citing decent results in these areas. However, this should be taken with caution, as individual experiences may vary.

For prospective students considering Cluster University of Jammu for their B.Com program, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider alternative options that might offer stronger career prospects and better infrastructure.

Government College for Women Gandhinagar, Jammu.
Placements: My batch of 2016 of Bachelors of Arts was having more than a thousand students. In my class, we had more than 100 students. As my course was non-professional, no package was offered for it. Because it was a non-professional college, no companies were recruited.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities available for my course in the college were very good, with well-furnished classrooms. There were separate labs available for each course for practical work. The hostel facilities were also very good, as it was fully furnished with hygienic food available.
Faculty: The teachers available on the campus for each course were very helpful, as they were highly qualified with the best knowledge. Their teaching quality was the best at that time. They helped each student in their course. The semester exams in the college were not much difficult if the student had studied well.
Other: The course I chose was because of my interest in novels and poetry, as English literature is based on poetry, novels, drama, etc. Yes, one thing that I think should be improved is the smart classes. Many events were held in the college, like cultural activities, sports, and many more.

Life at Cluster University.
Placements: It does not offer any kind of internship or placement opportunities. After completion of your bachelor's, you can pursue further studies like a master's degree in the same college or other as well. It provides us with the motivation to prepare for competitive exams.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is okay. Wi-Fi access is not available to students. As well as being a pioneer batch, labs are also not well-developed, but with the advancement of time, labs are now being developed with appropriate instruments and materials required for experiential work. It gives us practical knowledge as well.
Faculty: Exams are conducted semester-wise. The semester is also divided into informative and summative assessments called minor and major exams respectively. Minor exam included unit 1 only whereas summative assessment included long answers type questions from the other 4 units. Short answers are from all 5 units. Teachers are well-qualified which helped us in spreading sufficient knowledge.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in science. As the university is very close to my home, it saves time. As it is a government university, there is a very low fee structure. It is affordable for everyone. It also provides scholarships and motivates us to participate in extracurricular activities as well.

College with prestige but no dignity due to low calibre of DDO.
Placements: There was no placement. Placement of only BBA student was there. There was reason behind no placement l. The reason was there is no place for people graduation from B.Sc. Programme. There is need to increase the influx of practical course to get students to indulge in practical knowledge .
Infrastructure: There was hostel which I didn't applied for due to group politics and external reasons. There were only few gaurds available I think 3-4 in numbers. There is utmost need to increase the infrastructure of the college along with the training of some of the pros .
Faculty: The only thing I liked was teachers were very well qualified. They were helpful to each and every student. They use to approach students with different techniques to solve their problems. Teachers were respected but their juniors like staff assistants were not due to arrogance.

College is great but they have to improve their infrastructure.
Placements: Placement statistics for 2023 are impressive, with the highest package standing at INR 44.8 LPA, bagged by Lady Shri Ram College students, and an average package ranging between INR 5.7 LPA and INR 11.8 LPA for top companies. Our college's faculty is great.
Infrastructure: Hostels are great. Mess food is kind of odd but we can adjust. Our classrooms need more maintenance; our building can collapse any time. It's not that easy to go and sit in those classes; we never know when the roof will fall on us. The canteens are also not available in our college.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified and have great teaching quality. The SPMR college is known for B.Com and B.Com (Hons), but the skills in the AECCC subjects are not relevant because we are doing B.Com, but we have to study EVS; we are not botany students and Hindi is also our subject, so we have to study even Hindi after school.

Decent environment in college.
Placements: Just a few percent of students get placements; the average package is at the very lowest. Talking about the top recruiting companies, there are that many companies that are in for this college because there are many colleges around the city, and if it talks about the internship in Township, it is not that great. Mini roads are offered by the courses, but these rules are just basics.
Infrastructure: College hostels are not working, so when it comes to the sports and games, college have sports and games because we are grabbing medals through it, so that's a great thing. An infrastructure isn't up to the mark; the library is small and low on reading rooms.
Faculty: The faculty is great; members are so supportive in terms of teaching. They are very dedicated to the teaching quality; it is so great. The curriculum I don't feel is more relevant because I wanted the practical knowledge. It doesn't make sense to me that the exam pass percentage is 35-40%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to get knowledge about the commerce stream, and that's why the best thing about my course is that I would like to change the practicality in the course. I want it to be more market research, market understanding, and all that thing.

Below average college, you will see more students in parks and grounds than in classes.
Placements: There are no placements on the college campus. Although they do a placement fair, that is of no use. No package is there; you will have to look for off-campus placement. College just gives you a degree; there is no internship available, and the college tasks you to do so. They just focus on providing students with degrees and nothing else.
Infrastructure: There are labs, classes are average, and there is not very good Wi-Fi there. A library is also available. There is no hostel in the college. The canteen is available; sports and games are also there, but only a few weeks before intercollege tournaments. *** lot of fight in the college. Everyone is fighting.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable as well. But you can also qualify for the course easily with passing marks with no knowledge of the course. For example, you can pass with minimum marks or you can study well and learn about the course. It is totally up to you whether you are studying for a degree only or want to learn about the course as well.
Other: I chose the course because it was better than the average B.A. As it is skill-based, although I did not learn a single skill, I think they should focus more on real assignments and practical teaching of new things rather than just focusing on exams. They just want the student to graduate rather than make them ready for life ahead. It is totally up to the student whether he wants to learn or not. As a result, most students are left unguided and hence get a degree only without the actual knowledge of the course.
