Q:   Which has better placement at DAV University, B.Tech in CSE or B.Tech in ECE?

A:

The placement prospects for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) versus B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) can depend on various factors, including industry demand, specific skills offered by each program, and individual student preferences.

However, I can provide some general insights:

  1. B.Tech in CSE:

    • Computer Science and Engineering programs often have high demand in the job market due to the increasing reliance on technology.
    • Graduates in CSE are typically sought after by a wide range of industries, including IT companies, software development firms, startups, and more.
    • Job roles may include software development, programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and other technology-related fields.
  2. B.Tech in ECE:

    • Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates are often in demand in sectors such as telecommunications, electronics, and embedded systems.
    • Career opportunities for ECE graduates can include roles in telecommunications, semiconductor industries, electronics manufacturing, and research and development.

To make an informed decision, you may consider the following:

  • Review the curriculum of each programme to understand the specific skills and knowledge offered.
  • Explore the placement records and statistics provided by the university.
  • Consider your personal interests and career goals.

Review of DAV University.
Placements: Around 70% of the students are already placed, and the remaining will be placed soon. The highest salary package offered in this session is 15 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Advance Solutions, Trantor, Zapbuild,75 Ways Technologies, Appknit, Value Creative and many more. Roles offered were as software developer, software engineer and business development profile. The avarage salary package offered in our branch is 6 LPA. Around 50% of the students got an internship in Advanced Solution for first six months as an intern later on full time.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi services are available 24x7. The college has good infrastructure throughout the university, having a green environment, and sports are available for the student to remain active. The library has all books which may help a student to enhance their knowledge.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative and are always ready to guide students. Some Teachers are available 24x7. It is a very good opportunity for a student to get quality knowledge and the main focus is self-study. Students need to put more efforts to get ready for industry. Data structures and algorithms keep students mind and thinking ability stronger so, it contributes a lot overall.
Other: Computers are now needed by everyone. You have to be technically strong to get ready for this world. Being a girl, it sometimes helped me to keep my work in the safe zone. Some interview preparation sessions should be there, which may help a student to boost their confidence. Self-study is necessary without it, you may get stuck somewhere.

Amazing study environment.
Placements: 1. Almost 75% of students were placed last year. 2. The highest, the lowest and average salary offered were 12 LPA, 2.5 LPA, 6 LPA. 3. TCS, WIPRO, Byju's, Jaro Topscholars were the top companies for recruitment. 4. Software Engineer, Software Developer were the top roles offered. 5. 10 LPA, 2.5 LPA, 6 LPA 6. 60%.
Infrastructure: 1. Facilities were quite good and infrastructure is fully available. As there is fully Wi-Fi campus and all computer labs are enough for practical work for all students. 2. Quality of facilities in hostel are not good. Quality of food is not adequate in mess. Canteen and other facilities are okay.
Faculty: 1. Teachers are very helpful, knowledgeable as most of them are Ph.D. scholars. Teaching quality was very nice. 2. Yes it is relevant. But if doesn't make students industry ready they need to attend summer training and other workshops for practical knowledge.
Other: 1. I took this course as there is boom of computer Science and need of skilled Computer Science engineers. 2. There should be more practical knowledge given to students rather than theoretical subjects. 3. Tech Events and other fests held regularly. Campus crowd is not much, connectivity is by road.

My experience in DAV University .
Placements: There are a lot of good companies, and lots of students are placed from here with 4-5 lakhs average package per annum. The syllabus of the course is mighty good, and they focus on the practical knowledge more than theory knowledge. 60–70% of students are placed.
Infrastructure: I don't use hostel facilities, but my friends told me about the food that the food is not much good, not bad. Here, Wi-Fi is available for all students. All classrooms have AC facilities. There are lifts also available for ease of students. There is a big library for students, and there is also a seating arrangement for self-study.
Faculty: I like the faculty of this university; all are very familiar in nature if you have any queries regarding courses. Career, they always guide you. From my perspective, exams are not tough; they are moderate. Here the passing mark is 40% in each subject. And not more than five subjects they teach us per semester.

I am not much satisfied with the college.
Placements: As DAV University is still in its development stage, there is still a great lack of core placement companies. Companies like Byju's and Clicklabs offered 7 LPA to 10 LPA in November 2018. While other local IT companies like Seasia, Vinsol, Optimus, Trantor, etc., which are mostly based in Chandigarh, marked their presence. The average salary package offered was 2.5 LPA to 3.5 LPA. Almost 25% of students were placed in these companies. Some of them got the core job, while some were enrolled for non-technical jobs. This year, Jaro Education also selected one student with a salary package of 7 LPA. Overall, management tries but everything is up to the students.
Infrastructure: The campus is spread over 80 acres which include five building blocks and rest of the campus is still under construction. There is an admin block in which MBA classes are also held on the upper floors. There is a CSE block for computer science along with mathematics and English, and it is a 4-storey building. There is a mechanical block which is an 8-storey building. It consists of various departments, and these buildings are quite vast. There is a general standard playground where many sports facilities are provided. There are separate boys' and girls' hostels which are also spacious. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Libraries are filled with many books and hi-tech PC setups. The university has its medical facilities and also an ambulance for any emergency. There is entry only on ID basis for security. There is a big security setup of guards, CCTV, fire alarms, etc., throughout the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are quite efficient. Most of them are PhD holders, and some of them are associate professors. Almost 90% of the faculty are experts in their field. They are quite motivating and encouraging. Some of them are too lenient while some are super strict. In short, the teachers come down to the level of students and teach them. Almost everyone satisfies at the end of the day.
Other: The campus crowd is from every part of the north, from Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, to Assam. Everyone gets friends. Events are conducted at random time intervals. Everyone has an equal and good opportunity in extracurricular activities to show or to enhance their talents. There are many clubs formed for various societies.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: There are 30% of students placed. And the highest package is 24 lacs per annum and the lowest package is 6 to 10 lacs per annum. Top companies are Microsoft, Byju's, ITC, TCS, IDFC Bank, HDFC Bank, and many more companies that are visiting to recruit students. Top roles offered are data analyst, web developer, and many more. Above 7 CGPA students get easily placed compared to below 7 CGPA students. But sometimes luck and talent also work, so CGPA does not matter in many companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. All departments have their own building. Labs are there. AC classrooms are available. For self-study, there is a library where students can study peacefully. Sports and games are available. Medical facilities are also there. Mess food is healthy and totally clean. Canteen is also here. The infrastructure of DAV University is so beautiful and good.
Faculty: Faculty are so good. Teachers are very knowledgeable and fully qualified. They personally help us in our projects and in preparation of interviews. And the course curriculum is definitely relevant, and it's making students ready for industry. Semester exams are a little bit difficult. The passing mark that the student need is 40%.
Other: I have more interest in CSE. So I chose this course. The best thing about this course is that it relates to new technologies and AIs. The better improvement is that the student should teach the behavior and interview knowledge, which helps them take jobs easily. There are so many events organised in our college. Scholarships are also there. Sports-related all competitions are organized there. There are also many fests and treasure hunts organized there.

Q:   Is DAV University good for BCom?

A:
The University is approved by UGC. DAV University (DAVU) offers degree and Diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and doctoral levels. The university offers the BCom course at UG-level lasting for three years. DAV University BCom course fees  range from INR 80,00 to INR 2.2 Lakh
Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, candidates can summarize the overall review of the courses offered:
  • Teaching and Curriculum: The teaching quality is overall good, with professors being helpful and knowledgeable. The curriculum is considered suitable for students, with a mix of theory and practical learning.
  • Placement Opportunities: While DAV University doesn't guarantee 100% placements, many reputed companies like Hero Cycles, Reliance Jio, and Samsung have recruited students. However, students must be prepared to compete with peers from other departments, and placements might depend on individual performance.
  • Infrastructure and Facilities: The university has decent infrastructure, with modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational spaces. Hostel facilities are available, although some students find the food quality lacking.* Campus Life: Festivals and cultural events are celebrated throughout the year, providing opportunities for socializing and skill-building.
  • Research and Internship Opportunities: While these seem limited, some students reported getting internship offers during their summers, which can be beneficial for career growth.
  • Scholarship Options: Scholarships are available, making higher education more accessible to deserving students.
In conclusion, while DAV University may not excel in every aspect, it seems like a decent choice for those seeking a Bachelor's degree in Commerce. With its relatively affordable tuition fees and decent placement record, students may find it a viable option for pursuing their academic goals.
