It is a good university but not a reputed one compared to other universities.
Placements: There are no job placements in this field. Moreover, anyone can get admission here easily. It is a government university but it has management quota.
Infrastructure: The boys hostel 2 is the not so good but boys hostel 1 and 3 are amazing. Mess is fine in both the hostels but in boys hostel 2 our hostel rooms are small to accommodate four students. The paints on the walls keeping peeling off.
Faculty: Teachers are really. One of my teachers Mr. Rawal Singh Aulakh is the nicest person. Teachers are fully experienced and the best part is they organize site visits for architecture students which is nice and helpful.
Other: Jashan is the one of the most famous events here which is organized by the Department of Architecture from the past 5 years.

Our university has well-maintained infrastructure and a lot of greenery.
Placements: The placements for Bachelors of Architecture are very rare as there are no big companies or big offices that recruit and pass out students. Students themselves join the local architecture offices. The students who join local offices have a starting pay of about Rs. 12,000. Several well-known local offices are the first choice of passed out students. If we consider all passed out students, about 30% to 40% of them join local offices. While others either open their own offices or they go back to their cities and work independently, some students go for Masters in architecture. In local offices, the main roles are interior design, 3D building, exterior design, etc.
Infrastructure: The architecture department in our college has a simple box-like shape. Solar panels are placed on the roof, which powers the department. Wi-Fi is available only for teachers. Classrooms are more like studios, i. e., they are quite long as compared to normal classrooms, as instead of benches, there are drafting tables and stools. There is no library inside the department. The common library is on campus for all departments. Classrooms have only fans, while seminar halls have AC. Hostels for the first years have rooms for four students, while other hostels have room for two students. Hostel rooms have only fans, and students themselves can arrange coolers in the room with the permission of the warden. The food in the mess is average. The quality of the food varies depending on the mess. Canteens are available in hostels. But there is no dispensary inside the hostel, but there is a common dispensary on campus for all. The dispensary is free for all students. Badminton courts and volleyball courts are also available in hostels.
Faculty: Teachers in our department of architecture are qualified and quite knowledgeable. Teachers are quite helpful. Senior professors are very knowledgeable and teach in a very practical way. The teaching is overall good. If we talk about the relevance of the course curriculum, then I believe that the curriculum is lacking in modern architecture. However, the curriculum is good enough for clearing the basics of architecture. Exams in architecture are some of the easiest exams compared to other departments. On normal days, however, architecture students have the most work.
Other: I chose architecture because I was interested in architecture and also because I wanted to do practical work. The best thing about this course is that, it has the majority of practical work and also a few educational trips are planned in which different places of monumental importance are visited. I believe that the workload of architecture students should be reduced and professors should take students to construction sites more often in order to improve the course. An annual youth fest is organised in which different institutes compete with each other. Another annual fest is 'Jashan', in which different departments compete with each other. Also, a weekly gathering called "Mehfil" is organised in which anyone can show their talent and perform various activities.

Good college faculty and reputed department .
Placements: All the students get placed but the placement and application in the firms have to be done on our own. Teachers and faculty help in the placements and internship referrals. Top arch firms and even new ones openly accept students from our college. The highest internship package was around 1 to 1.5 lakh for six months. Roles offered are trainee architect/intern and junior architect.
Infrastructure: Good and well furnished studio classes, computer labs and common classrooms, seminar halls, AV rooms and conference rooms. Availability of libraries on the campus as well as sports facilities. Hostels have 4 types of hostels with well-furnished student reading rooms and common rooms for all the students. Play area and canteens with mess area.
Faculty: Well-experienced faculty with good industry knowledge and practical implications are taught in the classroom as well as providing hands-on knowledge experience. The course curriculum is relevant and similar to all the other architecture colleges but a lack of software teaching is a con. The semester exams are easy to moderately difficult.

Review of GNDU - Guru Nanak Dev University.
Placements: The college does not provide direct placements. Students apply for various architectural firms and engineering firms as freshers for initial years. Later on, they end up open their collaborative or individual firms for in-field practice of the same.
Infrastructure: Computer labs are available. Literature and model library are available, which contains a lot of samples and references for the works to be done. Hostels are affordable and accessible throughout the year. Cheap and quality facilities are provided for the students. The health centre has medical facilities for students.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified. They have experience in the course subject and practical knowledge. The course curriculum is outdated to a certain extent, and It needs to include more outdoors rather than theoretical information.

This college environment is good. Greenery is too much which is so pleasing.
Placements: Only 60 students were in B.Arch batch. No placements in the architecture field. We have to see our own for internship trainee. They do not provide any internships. It all depends on us from where we have to do this internship programme of 6 months.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good but there is a lack of maintenance in our studios. Proper cleaning is not there in the departments. The landscaping of the college is very pleasing and good. Some places have a huge crowd so I should suggest everyone not to go there.
Faculty: Teachers here are properly skilled but they do not provide much knowledge just because of their attitude. The teaching environment is not too good at all. We have to learn ourselves only most of the time. We can only ask doubts otherwise teachers will scold us.
Other: I have chosen this college because it is near my hometown.
