The placement scenario for B.A. LL.B. at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is still evolving as the first batch of the 5-year programme will pass out in June-July 2021. There are no other branch, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is located in Shimla district Ghandal and was established in the year 2016, by the Himachal Pradesh Act of 2016. The university has now become a part of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) consortium. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and ranked 5 among NLU’s by CLAT Cutoff list. At present, the university provides students with undergraduate programs, postgraduate programs and doctoral programs. 

The BA LLB (Hons) course is Five-Year Integrated Programme. Under the BA LLB (Hons) programme, students have the option to choose one from, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology, as their ‘major’ courses.

The number of seats available for the B.A. LL.B. program at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is 60, out of which 25 percent of the seats are reserved for Himachal Pradesh Domicile Candidates. However, the university is relatively new, having been established in 2016. As of 2023, Himachal Pradesh National Law University accepts Common Law Admission Test scores for admission to its undergraduate courses, including BA LLB.

To be eligible for admission to the B.A. LL.B. (Hons) programme at Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), candidates must have at least 50% aggregate marks in Class 12 (45% for SC/ST candidates) . The admission is based on the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) . The university offers a total of 60 seats for the BA LLB course. Additionally, the university conducts its own entrance examination called HPNLET for admissions into B.A.LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. programs. Therefore, having 60% in Class 12th is not a requirement for admission to the B.A. LL.B. programme at HPNLU.
