Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.E. / B.Tech courses at IIMT University?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of the Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at IIMT University

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell:

    * Active Placement Cell: According to several students, the placement cell is "active" and works towards providing opportunities to students.
    * Multiple Companies Visited: Although no top-recruiting MNCs visit the college, multiple companies like TCS, IBM, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, and others offer placements to students.
    * Placement Percentage: Around 80% of students get placements, with an average package of INR6 Lacs per annum and a the highest package of INR15 Lacs per annum.
    * Student-Placed in Various Sectors: Students are placed in various sectors, including IT, finance, and consulting.
    * Self-Funded Internships: As mentioned by one student, students need to self-fund their internships, implying that the college may not provide internship stipends or sponsorships.
    * No Top-Ranking MNCs Visit: Unfortunately, top-ranking MNCs do not visit the college for recruitments.

While the placement cell appears to be functional, the lack of top-tier companies visiting the college may limit the options for highly competitive roles. Nevertheless, the college still manages to place a significant number of students in reputed organizations.

    IIMT'S LIFE: An up-close view.
Placements: Placements at IIMT Meerut are decent, starting from the 7th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro visit the campus. The highest package offered is 8 LPA, and the average is 3.5 LPA. Around 70% of students get placed, mostly in IT, engineering, and marketing roles.
Infrastructure: Labs and classrooms are very good and are kept updated. Hostels have facilities of Wi-Fi, food, and rooms with 2 students. Each room has one washroom, a geyser, and a water cooler. Breakfast, evening snacks, lunch, and dinner are provided. Well, electric kettles won’t work in rooms. Nearby PGs are cheaper, so I’ll recommend opting for PG instead of IIMT hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members are nice and helpful. Semester exams are not so difficult if you have studied for them. Question banks, assignments, and handwritten notes are provided online on the ERP. If needed, they could arrange PYQs too. Overall, faculty members are very helpful to students.

    Glimpse of IIMT university .
Placements: I'm a 2nd-year B.Tech student in Computer Science. According to my knowledge, about 60 to 70% of students get well-placed through our college in very reputed companies like Crypto, TCS, etc., with a decent package. Our university has a minimum package of 3.6 Lacs per annum, which is quite good as a fresher.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our campus and classes are well-built. We have classrooms with digital boards, which is quite interesting. We have labs for each course, and they are quite good. We have a very big library with a lot of books and stuff. We also have a good Wi-Fi connection which has very good speed. If I talk about our mess, they really do provide quality and tasty food, although as compared to some other colleges' messes.
Faculty: The faculty members at our college are highly skilled and knowledgeable. They have a very different and interesting way of teaching. They mostly teach through practical exams so that we can clearly understand the whole concept. And their way of teaching really does make students industry-ready. The semester exams are not that difficult for me, but it would be different for someone else, but if you study properly, it is quite easy to pass. We need to score above 35% of the total marks in order to pass that particular exam.

    Raw review of IIMT University.
Placements: Out of 60 students in the 2021 batch, I hope that 50% of my seniors would get placed, as this was the first AIML batch of the university. I don't know right now, as the first batch would get placed in 2025. Google, Amazon, Facebook, Wipro, IBM, Oracle, and Flipkart are the top recruiting companies. I didn't have many contacts from the seniors, so I don't know about it as well. Machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI engineer, and big data engineer are the top roles offered in my course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in the university is well and good, please don't have high expectations. There are no AC classrooms, but ACs are available in computer labs. Wi-Fi is available in every building for faculty and students, but you can only access it using your personal I'd and it has a limit speed of 1MB/sec and data of 5GB. The library is also well and good. The hostel is average, and the food quality is below average. It takes time to solve a problem registered by the student. The canteens’ food quality is good. Sports and the rest of the facilities are good.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They teach properly and have good insight into their subject. Yes, the curriculum is relevant. No, as students have to make their own effort to be ready for the industry, and the curriculum only helps to boost the student. The difficulty of the exams depends on the students, as it depends on how well they have prepared for the semester exams. For me, the difficulty is moderate. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose this course as this was the best course the university could provide to me. The best thing about this course is that it is in demand and has high scope to grow into the most needed skills for companies. If the university could provide more practical knowledge, they should start teaching more fundamentals in the first year. If I had to say about events and fests, that would be the worst.

IIMT University is a decent college to take admission in.
Placements: The percent of students placed varies but the average placement percentage is 85% and the top recruiting companies are ICICI, Fortis, Tech Mahindra, etc. Top roles are managing director and other roles. The highest package offered was 33 Lacs and the average package offered is 4-5 Lacs per annum. Internships completely depend upon students and vary from courses.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided by our college are decent enough to meet our requirements. There are Wi-Fi, labs, and digital classrooms, and a large enough library that contains all the books and computerized labs to study efficiently. The facilities of the hostel are good and the quality of food is good. Medical facilities are also good and there is a large playground for different sports, including shooting and boxing.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified and even many of them are Ph.D. holders and they have excellent teaching skills. The teaching quality is quite decent. The course is relevant enough and they do their best to make students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate but the environment is very strict, including UFM, which takes strict action against students who do not comply with the integrity of the exam.
Other: I chose this course because it would provide me with good opportunities. The best thing about courses is they provide us with industry experts.

    Good faculty in our university.
Placements: 90% of students are placed by my university. The highest package is 12 lakhs, the lowest package is 4 lakhs, and the average package is 6 lakhs. Top recruiting companies for our courses include TCS, Wipro, and many other top companies have recruited through the university. This is the best university in Uttar Pradesh.
Infrastructure: There is a good Wi-Fi connection with high speed, and millions of books are available in the library. The hostels are the best for students because the food quality is excellent. IIMT University is the best university, and the food quality in the mess in the hostel is very good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and have good knowledge and experience. Semester exams are easy in our college because our faculty helps us with problem-solving and provides easy tricks for every hard question that students face. Our university is very good.

Reality of a college student .
Placements: Campus placement in IIMT is not well-off. Students have a hard time getting eligible for campus placement. TCS (Tata Consultancy Services), Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, and HCL Technologies are some companies that recruit Computer Science students. Students from the 7th semester are eligible to attend campus placement. Only about 30% of the total students get placement. My plan after getting my degree is to do either a Master's or an MBA in business.
Infrastructure: In IIMT, basic facilities like Wi-Fi, smart boards, fans, lights, and seats are provided, and the building infrastructure is unique. The classrooms are neat and clean. In the hostel, there are several facilities that are provided by the college, such as Wi-Fi, fan, AC (if opted), light, study table, almirah, laundry, attached washrooms, tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court, etc. All these facilities are provided on campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are very engaging and support students. Teachers are well-qualified for their jobs, and have good knowledge, but some faculty members still use old teaching methods. In IIMT, the curriculum is generally designed to be relevant to the course. Semester examinations are quite difficult. We can say 2 out of every 20 students get back their results. The passing percentage is 33% for external examinations and 50% for internal examinations added together.
Other: I chose CSE because I wanted to be a software developer. The best thing about CSE is that you get to learn so many programming languages. It would be good if the dress regulations could be dropped, and if teachers could practically demonstrate the topic rather than just reading the written paragraph on the screens. According to my knowledge, there aren't many fests or events that have occurred on campus other than tech fests and fresher/farewell. Network connectivity is not good on campus; however, Wi-Fi is provided. The crowd is of a moderate level, and trees and plants are everywhere, making the view very ambient and lowkey. Only the UP scholarship is provided by the university. Extracurricular activities like football, basketball, cricket, martial arts, volleyball, and tennis are provided by the college.
