One of the best state colleges I have ever seen.

Placements: Since last few years, placement here is fine. Though you can't expect as high as CSE or IT, still one cannot deny the fact that one of the best placements in ME after IITs occur here. Recognised as one of the best state universities in India, it provides ample opportunities during placement time.

The college life is good, but the placements are poor.

Placements: If we consider the placement of the engineering courses as a whole, then it is one of the best in the country in terms of packages. The placement season starts around July. There are big names including Microsoft, PWC, Goldman Sachs, etc. However, there are some drawbacks also. The big offers are bagged by mostly the students from CSE, IT, ECE, EE, ME, and IEE. In some companies, the students from some specific departments are only eligible. As a whole, most of the students get placed by the end...

Think before you opt! Take a read.

Placements: The placement season for the faculty of engineering starts in July and goes on till April. The companies coming for the same are majorly IT Companies which also happen to offer the maximum CTC. The department of Computer Science and Information Technology saw the best placement offers in 2017. In Power Engineering, which is one of the non-core departments of JU, the placement is not that impressive, rather poor compared to the departments like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, CS and IT. This...

Dissatisfied with the faculty, placements and culture in the department.

Placements: 22/40 (55%) students got placed in our batch. 24/36 (66.67%) got placed in our senior batch. The highest salary being 6.8LPA CTC offered. Roles varied from core power engineering to IT to Data Analyst and Software engineering. Only 4/22 placed in our batch got in core power engineering roles. Only 2 out of 40 students got academic internship in 3rd years. The stats improved in the next year to about 3-4 industrial internships. JU has a placement cell of its own governed by the students. The stud...

Good college in terms of Education and personal development.

Placements: Placements in the college are no different other than required by the industry. Sometimes the placement season are very good and sometimes not much good. But JU being an old and reputed government college has a very strong alumnus. It therefore manages a very good placements for its students. Almost 80% of students surely get placed in departments like CSE, EE, ECE, ME with an average salary of 6lpa. However average in CSE reaches high upto 14lpa. Placement in Chemical and Instrumentation is als...

A review of JU by an ordinary student. But, I've written exactly what I've seen till now.

Placements: The campus placements in mathematics department are low. About 10-20% of the students got placed last year. But, a handsome number of students go on to pursue research in good institutions like IITs, TIFR, etc. The placement cell in mathematics department is not very efficient as most of the students don't go for job after pursuing B.Sc. Mathematics. Every year, the students are given a scholarship from Inspire worth of 60,000 who are in the top 1percentile.

To have a good college life, one should definitely try for JDBI.

Placements: Good companies visit the campus for freshers. The college will bring reputed companies for both internship and final placements to students. The companies with good salary package and good name come down to campus for placements. The average salary package can be close to 5 to 6 lacs per annum for selected students. ITC, Future First, IMRB, and many others to name a few visit the campus for placements. Mostly, we have aptitude rounds and PI, so focus on aptitude and communication skills, and you...

A technically and culturally rich college which unites arts, science and engineering together.

Placements: Jadavpur University's placements are quite good, thanks to our placement cell. Last year from our department 76% of the students got placed whereas many among others opted for pursuing MBA in IIMs and M.Tech in IITs. The average salary offered here was Rs. 4.5 Lakhs and the highest package offered here is being Rs. 35 LPA while the lowest is 3.2 LPA. Amazon hired a guy who grabbed a package Rs. 35 LPA. Good infrastructure, mixed faculty, very happening college life.

Placements: Most of the students find the jobs before 3 to 4 months prior to the session end. The placements have a record of 90% of the job fulfilment every year. In our batch, the lowest package was 3 LPA and the highest going up to 14 LPA. The average packages are mainly ranging from 6 to 8 LPA. You may always don't get the jobs in your core line, but definitely, a standard result is maintained where you will easily be placed after your course ends.

It is lot satisfying to get so much from a college which charges the least for the best.

Placements: Most of the tech giants including Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture have arrived every year for placement of every aspiring engineering of the particular batch. Every student with proper quality and qualifications have got at least three job offers. The college provides placement training and provides the environment for the interview before sitting in front of HR and aptitude round.

Review of the construction engineering department in The Jadavpur University.

Placements: I got placed at Bengal Shristi Infrastructure Development Limited with an annual package of 3 lakhs per annum. Overall, the company is good for freshers. Also, I have learnt lots of thing in civil engineering from my seniors. But the growth of your career in this company is less compare to other companies.

It's all about a tag we get in the end.

Placements: I personally do not have much experience regarding placements, but as I heard from seniors and our principal, there are plenty of placements provided, but the main issue is that the students are not turning up for a job after being selected. So, this is putting the college in a dicey position of calling the companies for recruiting. Top companies like Wipro, Amazon, and HDFC Bank come to our campus for recruitments.

Placements: The placement is incredible. Not just the package amount but the number of students placed is also incredible. The companies coming here are reputable, the core and non-core. The placements are available to anyone with skill, not just limited to the department of your studies.

Placements: The placements of my branch are quite good this year. Around 80% of the students are placed till now. Placements: The placements are good, and almost 95% student got placed. The companies like HSBC, Reliance, Infosys, E&Y, ZS associates, Siemens, MN Dastur, IBM, Airtel come for the recruitment process every year and recruit insignificant number. The highest package is 11 lakhs per annum, and the average package is about 4-5 lakhs per annum.

Placements: The placement is all good here for top-notch branches. And very low for civil and metallurgy, etc., branches. The average package range from 4.5 LPA to 5.5 LPA which is entirely fair in these days after PSU left recruiting from colleges. Batch's strength lies about 60 and more than 50 students got placed last year. Overall, it's fair and good.
