Cool, decent and satisfied college and low budget college.

Placements: The placement is all good here for top-notch branches. And very low for civil and metallurgy, etc., branches. The average package range from 4.5 LPA to 5.5 LPA which is entirely fair in these days after PSU left recruiting from colleges. Batch's strength lies about 60 and more than 50 students got placed last year. Overall, it's fair and good. The companies visiting campus are Samsung, Amazon, L&T, Infosys, etc., are essential companies. The highest package offered was 9 LPA in Samsung, and low...

Attractive placements with attractive remuneration

Placements: The placements were very good if not excellent. Placements for my batch were around 80%. There were around 70-80% placements. The highest salary offered was around 2-3 lacs per month with Accenture taking the lead. The lowest salary was around 40,000/- per month and the average salary was around 50,000-70,000/- Rs per month. Companies such as Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Accenture, etc. visited the campus. Roles such as systems administrator, SQL developer, etc. were offered to the students. Around ...

Satisfied. An average college with a good opportunity

Placements: The placement scenario is overall average to good here. Most of the students depend upon GATE exams. Last year, 70 percent got placed here. The highest package was 11 LPA, the lowest was 2.1 LPA and the average was around 4 to 5 LPA. Companies which visited the college are like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Accenture, HCL, Infosys and Samsung. Students easily get the internship offer from MNCs or some IIT or IISc, with references and sources from professors or relatives. ...

A good management college.

Placements: There was a separate department for placements and placement was offered to only those who opted of it. Many companies came down to our college offering diverse profiles in the field of marketing and finance. Few of the companies were Future first, Swiggy and KPMG amongst others.

I am absolutely satisfied because of faculty members and facilities provided by our college.

Placements: Placements were decent in our college as reputed companies visited for students to enhance their career in the fields they were interested in. Students also got an opportunity to experience the corporate world, which would not have been possible otherwise.

College review of J.D. Birla Institute

Placements: The placements offered to the 3rd year students of JD Birla Institute were quite decent. A lot of different companies such as Wipro came to the college and offered management as well as accounting roles. Salaries offered varied according to the company as well as the designation.

An average college with average placements.

Placements: The placements were poor as only 50% of the batch got placed. The major recruiter was Wipro and it offered the analyst role. The average salary went around Rs. 15000 to 20000 per month. Internship was not compulsory, therefore, the college did not provide any assistance for the same.

One of the top colleges for girls in Kolkata with great faculty and good infrastructure.

Placements: This is one of the top colleges in Kolkata hence it does provide good opportunities for freshers. It provides internships in startups as well as companies like Big 4. A great exposure is there for second as well as third-year students. The lowest stipend provided is 4000-5000 per month.

Dissatisfied with course, improvement required in faculty and placements.

Placements: The placements, in general, are of an average salary of 2.5 lpa. Mostly, the students get the profiles in production and sales along with a few IT recruitments. Most of the students get placed by the end of their academic year. Companies that visit are Infosys, Deloitte, PWC, GSK, Reliance, etc.

Emporium of knowledge in the heart of Kolkata.

Placements: Placement of JU can be compared with those of good NITs. There is 100% placement in CS and IT. Placements of mechanical, electrical, electronics are appreciable. Civil has approximately 50% core placements. There is also an appreciable placement in metallurgy, architecture, chemical. Many multinational companies have visited in our college like Google, Amazon, Samsung, etc.

Placements: Placements of our senior batch were very good. Almost 90% of them got placed in good companies with a good package. Here the placement wing is very active and they will give you a proper chance to showcase yourself and get a job you are looking for. Every student is given a chance to sit in an interview that he wants to. Here you can also get internships in major companies through the process.

Jadavpur University, at least the course that I enrolled for (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering), had some of the best brains in the state (it closed at a ranking of 78 (WBJEE 2008)), as substantiated by the various colleges the students went to for further studies from my batch (MS & PhD: Purdue University, Cornell University, MBA: IIM A, IIM B, MTech: IISc, IIT-B). However, the environment for studying and character development was not always conducive, with attendance criteria not...

It's a very good college for research and academics. The infrastructure is also quite decent as compared to another private engineering colleges. Being a centre for "Potential for excellence" it is the leading state university in WB. It provides arts, science and engineering degrees to the students.

The college is inspiring to me since I join the college. Student here learn not only engineering but also to interact properly in different fields. It allows extracurricular activities besides studies in which we can be freely involved depending upon our interests. There is a problem of teaching level up to some extent. Teachers are not upgraded from time to time due to which these faculty members goes on teaching in careless manner.

From my point of view, college is just fine (not very good) for engineering students, the politics inside the university is the main cause. In this year the placement scenario is bad. If anyone has a chance to join other NIT (not new NITs) then surely join NIT. The Placement condition of CSE, IT and ECE branches are good but for other branches mostly students get job in software companies like TCS, CTS, IBM etc.

My college is one of the premier institutes of India. It was built before the independence of our country. Its aim is to provide world-class technical education to the students of the university. It has a good sprawling campus in two parts of the city. The university provides a lot of facilities to students, like the canteens which are very good. It has a lot of places to hang around and enjoy. It has lots of good laboratories. It has a very big digital library and a library that contains books ...
