Students come here from every corner of India to study. Absolutely worth it.
Placements: Who doesn't know Jamia Millia Islamia, which is a central university and is located in Delhi? The university offers 44 courses. Many college students have got internships, like at NDTV and Punjab Khas Kar. During the selection time, a senior got a job at ETV.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi remains available 24/7. The library and reading hall also remain open till 2 in the night, where the environment is also amazing. Medical facilities are always ready because a health center has also been built here, where students are treated.
Faculty: If we talk about the faculty, then this university is among the top universities in India, where very experienced teachers teach. We prepare well for the exam so that no doubts remain. Extra classes are also given to the students. The paper is also moderate.
Other: I am very interested in radio, that's why I chose mass media. Many of our famous anchors have also come out from here, like Anjana Om Kashyap. Leaving aside the exam time, there are activities and quizzes from time to time, in which rewards are also given.

Very good and supportive faculty.
Placements: Hello everyone.... currently I'm doing BA (Hons) Mass Media from Jamia Millia Islamia. Jamia is the best university for pursuing journalism. The faculty, teachers, seniors, everyone is so supportive and up to the mark. Students start their internship from 1st year only in news channels like NDTV, Zee News, Aaj Tak, etc.
Infrastructure: The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Jamia Millia Islamia is among the best faculties of Jamia. It gives you the opportunity to pursue a lot of foreign languages. Jamia has the best hostels at very affordable prices. Everyone can afford it. The environment of JMI is good.
Faculty: The teachers of BA (Hons) Mass Media are very supportive. They help you to understand what journalism actually is. Jamia has a very good reputation in the field of journalism. One can easily get placed after completing their studies from JMI. The semester exams are moderate and the passing percentage is 40%.
Other: The mass media course gives you a way to a lot of professions. You can get into anchoring or reporting, writing, photography, public speaking, etc. The campus crowd is very good. Most people think that it's a Muslim university, but it's not. JMI is a central university. People from every religion and caste study here and everyone gets equal opportunity.

University is good at all but infrastructure is not sufficient. And placements are low.
Placements: Approximately 20% of students in our course get placement. The package provided is not so high; it ranges between 2-7 lakhs. Top recruiting companies are Aaj Tak, NDTV, and India Today. Getting an internship is easy for whoever wants it, but some students go for further studies. In our course, the main focus is on communication skills and personality development.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the course (department) is average. Although Wi-Fi is available on the whole campus. Food provided in the hostel is good; I can say above average, while canteen food is average. The university has a sports complex in which we can play various games. They also organize hostel tournaments.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and very helpful to us. Teaching quality is good at all. Yes, our course makes us relevant as media is considered the fourth pillar of democracy. Semester exams are neither hard nor easy. The passing percentage is nearly 85-90 percent, as I guess.
Other: I chose this course to learn communication skills and improve my personality. Here I learned a lot as I attended extracurricular activities. One thing that can improve this course more is to add this course to the MCRC department. The campus and students are also well-connected, and events and fests occur very frequently.

I am satisfied with my university.
Placements: Placement chances are very low in this course because there is no placement cell for this course. When placements come, they demand experience in media, like scriptwriting, video editing, anchoring, and reporting. Simple things that students don’t have experience in, which is why no jobs after this course are provided by Jamia Millia Islamia.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very nice, and the environment is good. The mess food is very good. Many of my classmates in the hostel say they have very nice, clean rooms. The hostel admission procedure involves filling out a registration form and giving an interview before you are selected for the hostel.
Faculty: This course is very good for those who want to become journalists in the future. The assistant professors are very educated and guide you in media education. The syllabus changes every semester, and the program advisor is very good. However, we don’t have practical courses in this course; in the last semester, we are given project work.

An Insightful Journey at Jamia Millia Islamia, Especially Campus Life
Placements: After passing, only one company, ABP News, came to campus and offered 2.5 lakh to 3.0 lakh per annum, but they selected only one student for the scriptwriter role in my batch. What I want to say is that there is almost no placement in this course. If you are trying to take admission thinking that you will get campus placement, then it is not possible in this course; there is almost no hope.
Infrastructure: Being a central university, its campus is very large and the infrastructure is also very good. You can use Wi-Fi anywhere on the campus, and a studio has also been built for practical work related to my course. The building in Jamia is very good, and medical facilities are also available here for free. Along with this, you can play both indoor and outdoor games, and there are also five small canteens on the campus. The biggest drawback is that Jamia has very few hostels, so often students do not get hostel accommodation.
Faculty: The professors who taught us were very qualified; I remember their names, Vivek Dubey and Dilip Sir, who taught us. They have taught in Western countries for three years each, which is why they are very knowledgeable. They try to make the students understand in a very easy way and are always helpful. The biggest drawback of this course is that there is very little practical work; most of it is theory. However, the semester exam is very easy, and if you study even two days before, you can pass easily because I think with a minimum of 4 or 5 SGPA, you can get passing marks.
Other: My motive behind selecting this course was to become a professional video editor, but the sad thing is that details related to video editing were not given in any semester. Still, this was the best media course for me because I had a passion for studying in a central university like Jamia and aimed to learn a lot while enjoying campus life, which I did. If some changes are to be made in my course, I suggest adding more practical work and reducing theory, which will make this course even better. Fest events keep happening frequently in Jamia, providing opportunities for extracurricular activities. You can get two types of scholarships in Jamia: one is the Jamia Illuminai scholarship, and the second is the NSP scholarship if you are a minority.

Q:   Is Jamia Millia Islamia good for M.Com?

A:
{Source: M.Com students & alumni}

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) - Is it Good for M.Com?

Based on reviews from current students and alumni, here's what they say:

* Placement Record: While the college claims to have a good placement record, the reality seems to be different. According to students, only about 20% of students get placed, with the highest package offered being INR5.5 LPA.
* Recruiters: Companies like Samsung, Kotak Mahindra, DMI Housing Finance, and Acxiom visit the campus for placements, but the number of recruiters is relatively small.
* Course Curriculum: The M.Com course is well-structured and covers finance, accounting, and purchasing, making students industry-ready.
* Teaching Quality: Some students feel that the teaching quality could improve, while others appreciate the support and guidance received from faculty members.
* Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful campus with modern infrastructure, including a large library, laboratories, and a sports complex.
* Scholarships: JMI offers scholarships to deserving students, including the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

In conclusion, while Jamia Millia Islamia has its strengths, particularly in terms of infrastructure and course structure, the placement record for M.Com appears to be inconsistent. Prospective students should weigh these factors carefully before deciding whether JMI is the right fit for them.

Q:   Is BBA at Jamia Millia Islamia a good choice?

A:
{Source: BBA students & alumni}

Based on the information provided, I would say that studying BBA at Jamia Millia Islamia can be a good choice. Here's why:

* Good reputation: Jamia Millia Islamia is a reputed institution, ranked within the top 15 universities according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking.
* Well-qualified faculty: The faculty members are well-qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable, providing good teaching quality.
* Relevant curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant, covering all aspects of business administration, making students industry-ready.
* Placements: Despite initial concerns about placements, the majority of students (around 90%) get placed in well-known companies, including top recruiters like TCS, Wipro, KPMG, ICICI, and Mahindra. The average salary package offered is around 4-5 LPA, with some students receiving even higher packages.
* Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is good, with modern facilities like air-conditioned lecture theaters, state-of-the-art libraries, and well-maintained hostels.
* Campus life: The campus offers a range of extracurricular activities, sports facilities, and cultural events, creating a vibrant campus life.

However, there are some areas for improvement, such as the limited research opportunities and the need for students to take initiative to find jobs.

Overall, while Jamia Millia Islamia may not offer the perfect education, it seems to be a good option for those interested in pursuing a career in business administration.
