Placements: This is a research-based institution, and the students mostly get jobs in the private sector. One of the recruiters was Azim Premji Foundation, primarily operates in Rajasthan and recruit educational functionaries at a district level. Another organization that came for placements was PRADAN. According to my friends who were shortlisted by this organization, didn’t intend to join it as the job required relocation to Rajasthan, starting with the basic salary of Rs. 20,000. There are companies whic...
Placements: Department of biotechnology does not have any placement cell. Most of the time, students have to go for research even if they do not want. I have seen no one who has secured a job from the campus. The university plays no role in providing internships. It is up to the student to look for the internship. Few students get paid one, and most others get an unpaid internship. The average stipend offered for the paid internship is Rs. 15,000 per month.
Placements: There is no placement committee in JNU so there is no placement from the campus. None of my juniors or seniors got a job offer directly from the campus. Others had gone for either research or taken a job from naukari. Com. The basic pay was somewhat 20-23k in Delhi which is quite low in my opinion. No company visited the campus to place anyone. Mostly all my classmates had some kind of summer internship with them though None was in any company. They all were working in some other university or i...
Placements: I will be clear on this. JNU have no placement cell that I know of and generally offers no placements to students. It being a research institute inspires students to go for Ph.D. I do not know anyone personally who has got a job straight out of university. Coming to the internship part I had an internship in the US. The professors are really helpful and they gave me a generous recommendation. My other classmates did an internship in India only. Few even decided not to go for the internship. It a...
Placements: It is a matter of sorry state that a premier institute such as JNU does not care about placing its students. Not only in Biotechnology but leaving Computer Science and Information Technology department every department is suffering from zero placement. The prime reason is that there is no such thing as placement cell in JNU. Coming to the internship part, anyone who is hardworking and studies sincerely here gets an internship. Mostly it is unpaid which again shows the sorry state of our institut...
Placements: JNU is a non-engineering university which is mainly known for arts. I don't know if any department in the university which has a placement cell. If the students are interested in the job, they apply on Naukri.com or any other website. No one from my batch, or from the batch of my seniors or juniors got a job directly from the college. The average salary they were offered was around Rs. 25,000-30,000 per month. No company visited our campus for Biotech jobs. Nearly 18 students out of the batch of...
Placements: JNU does not have a placement cell. After the completion of the course, you have only two options, either go for PhD or prepare for UPSC. So, think twice before you join the university. The internships are provided only after the end of the first year. You can apply to various institutes either online or by writing the mail directly. The internship can be paid or unpaid depending on the situation and where you get it. As we have no placement cell, we cannot be sure about the packages.
Placements: As I was from a small city called Jhansi, I never thought of getting placement after completing my Masters. I was inspired for conducting research work. If you are determined for placements, then JNU is the not right place for you. JNU does not guarantee any placement opportunities. Getting an internship is pretty easy. Everyone I knew did an internship in Summer vacation. The stipend offered varies from institute to institute.
Placements: JNU is an institution which imparts learning to students so that they can go for higher studies. It is a step in the learning process and not an end. I am personally not in favour of going for placements as the salary is not very high and the job is menial. In PhD, you will get a handsome salary, respect, and a degree. A few people tried to go for a job and ended up in coaching institutes teaching to AIPMT students. We all had internships. I did my internship from CCMB, Hyderabad. My internship ...
Placements: If you are coming to JNU don't think of short-term think in long-term aspects. Even if you get placed you will be earning 20k at entry level but in Ph.D. you will be getting 32k from the starting. Moreover, after doing Ph.D. the jobs prospects and salary will be more. Though its a matter of sorrow that there in placement cell in JNU. Almost all the students who try get an internship from campus. I got an internship in BARC and it was a great experience. Internships are sometimes paid, sometimes ...
Placements: When it comes to knowledge studying biotech from JNU is one of the best decisions that you will ever make, but when it comes to placements it will be one of the worst places to be in. In spite of being a premier institute, there is no placement for Science graduates. Ultimately you end up doing Ph.D. cause don't have a lot of options. After the end of the first year, we have the option to go for summers if it interests you. I had decided to opt out of the internship. As there is no placement cel...
Placements: JNU is an institute that is well known for arts and economics is not inclined towards placements. This is the reason why Science students like us suffer. A couple of departments do have there own placement cell but for Biotech it is still a dream. The only way is to apply off-campus which is a tremendous task in itself. Coming to the internship part it is optional. A few don't go for the internship but many do. Mostly it is unpaid but if you happen to be lucky you can get a paid stipend. The ave...
Placements: JNU is not a place where you seek placements. It is a temple for learning and growing. We as students are seriously focused towards carrying out the research and not work in some company. The biotech department does not have any kind of placement activity cause it doesn't make sense to go in the industry. Coming to the internship part I had decided to not go for an internship. I was more focused towards getting theoretical knowledge. Other went for internship and some even were offered paid inte...
Placements: There is no placement cell in Biotech department so the university does not have any placement opportunities open for us, students. It is a sad thing but currently, we can not do anything. The only option that remains is to go for research work in some institute. No one from my batch had any idea how to go for the industry. A couple of us did try off campus but were largely unsuccessful. Everyone gets an internship somewhere. If you are lucky then it is paid otherwise be ready to work for free. ...
Placements: There are no placements in JNU for Biotech students, but don't get disheartened. If you get selected in the campus placements, you are restricted for research and some 9 AM to 5 PM jobs. The stipend offered during PhD is generous. No company visit our campus, and no one goes for industry jobs before their PhD. We all got an internship at the college. I got a paid internship in IISc Bangalore. Other students also got internships in various other eminent universities. There is no placement cell, a...
Placements: To be honest, JNU does not offer any placement opportunity, which is not good. All of us eventually went for doing PhD. Although it is not a bad thing, students should have an option to choose. Everyone gets an internship from our college and work in some lab. I got a paid internship, and it was one of the few lucky ones. Sometimes, there is no monetary compensation, and the students have to work for free.
Placements: Our college does not offer any placements, but we can go for off-campus placement drives if we like. After M.Sc, I worked in a coaching institute for a year prior to my PhD and taught students who were preparing for M.Sc. Maybe 1-2% of the PG students were placed, and the rest of the students joined PhD. The salary offered was according to the job profile. My salary was nearly Rs. 30,000 per month. Every student gets an internship. The one who doesn't get an internship is free to work in labs of...
Placements: JNU is not an engineering college. The university is not focused on industrial knowledge and getting students placed in companies. Hence there is no placement here. But it doesn't matter as students go for Ph.D. anyways. And nowadays even Ph.D. offers a handsome stipend of 32k. Many of my classmates have gone to foreign to do Ph.D. and that is better than getting a menial job here. No company for biotech comes and visit the university but students do go to companies such as Novartis and Biocon f...
Placements: Talking about the placements I would like to tell that do not expect any placement form here. There is no placement cell. JNU is a university for research and development. Students who come here seek knowledge and not keen about getting placed. A few of my classmates had applied for the off-campus placement but didn't go as the payment was very nominal. Almost everyone goes for the summer internship at various universities. I too had a summer intern in NII. Mostly it is unpaid but if you are luc...
Placements: There is no placement in Biotech from JNU. If you are seeking placement take my advise and don't come to JNU. You will be disappointed. !00 percent of the juniors and seniors were unplaced as almost everybody go for a Ph.D. No company visited JNU to seek placement of biotech students but I know a couple of people who went for off-campus placement. Many also opt for teaching in coaching institutes. The job is menial and not worth doing, as per my view. Almost every other person in my class went f...
