The Kakatiya University conducts their postgraduate common entrance test (KU PGCET) in order to offer students admission in postgraduate courses offered at the university. In order to ace the entrance test, students need to prepare well for the course applied for. Many students who have appeared for the entrance test have found the exam tough. Students who qualify and secure the desired rank will be called to the university to complete the admission formalities. Know the Exam Pattern

Students must know the KU PGCET exam pattern such as the duration, the mode, the medium, the type of questions, the exam centre. All the facts should be right before you appear for the entrance exam. Most of the details will be mentioned in the admit card as you fill in the application form. 

Know the Marking Scheme

The candidate should know how many questions will be asked in the entrance exam. Will the exam be in MCQ format or long descriptive answer questions? Will there be negative marking? Will marks be cut in descriptive questions? How many marks will be granted per question answered? The candidate should know all the answered before appearing for the entrance exam. 

Know the Syllabus

A very important element while preparing is studying according to the prescribed syllabus. Once you have all the topics which you are to cover, get to your studies straight away. Learn as much as you can over a period of time. Try and cover the topics well in time before the entrance exam.

Solve Previous Years Question Papers

Get the last five years' question papers. Try and solve them. By solving the question papers, you are challenging yourself. Not only will you understand the pattern and marking scheme, but all know various elements such as questions asked and in what way it is presented. Will the questions be direct or come in mixed format? Solve as many question papers as you can. 

Time Management

Plan out your schedule and timing and study accordingly. Create a plan on an hourly, daily, weekly and monthly basis. If you follow a fixed time schedule, you can cover the topics well in time and will also have plenty of time to revise as well.

Revision

Once you have prepared, it’s time to revise what you have studied. By revising, you can remember better what you have studied. For example, if you have opted for History, dates are the most important part of the subject. By revising, you understand what you have studied better.
