Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for M.Sc. students at Kerala University?

A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Success Rate of Placement Cell for M.Sc. Students

Based on the reviews and comments from students and alumni, here's an analysis of the success rate of the placement cell for M.Sc. students at Kerala University:

* Rotary Career Cell Guidance: The university has a dedicated placement cell called the Rotary Career Cell, which guides students throughout their academic journey to secure placements. (Source: "The placement is for the last semester students.")

* INR 6 Lacs Per Annum Package: Companies offer a package of up to INR 6 lacs per annum to selected students. (Source: ".the package that the company offers is INR 6 Lacs per annum.")

While there is limited information available about the placement cell's success rate, these two points suggest that the university makes efforts to facilitate placements for its M.Sc. students. However, more detailed information would be needed to accurately assess the effectiveness of the placement cell.

In summary, while some positive feedback exists regarding the placement cell, further research is required to provide a comprehensive assessment of its success rate for M.Sc. students.

So far great college for pursuing M.Sc. In botany.
Placements: In the case of placements, our college did not offer us a career fair or other employment chances. However, our lecturers assisted us in obtaining an internship for the PG thesis, which enabled me to have greater access to lab equipment, procedures, and facilities.
Infrastructure: The course was worth my time, plus I didn't have to pay anything because I received a scholarship. The hostel life was more enjoyable. We had a terrific time in the hostel. It provided us with a superb and studious setting. Classrooms were well-kept and established. The hostel accommodations were quite decent, and the food quality was remarkable.
Faculty: The lecturers were knowledgeable and helpful with our college project, and they explained everything well. The quality of instruction is also good. Our college's education was far too practical to prepare us for the workplace. Semester examinations were not particularly difficult to pass. Our college has an 85% passing percentage.

Good College but not satisfied with Placements.
Placements: Our college offers numerous placement opportunities for students. They have been successfully placed in companies with packages ranging from 41K to 28K per annum. Additionally, some students have even cracked interviews for business roles. However, there seems to be dissatisfaction among the students regarding the placements.
Infrastructure: The library boasts excellent facilities and infrastructure, housing an impressive collection of books, magazines, and publications. However, it does not offer Wi-Fi access for students. The cleanliness of the classrooms leaves much to be desired, and the exams are challenging to pass. The hostel provides average food and lacks certain amenities, such as water and Wi-Fi.
Faculty: The teachers at our college are not only helpful but also highly qualified and knowledgeable. They provide excellent-quality teaching that prepares students for the industry. The course offered here has a promising future scope. Although the semester exams are challenging, with dedicated studying, success is achievable.

Teachers are so friendly and very much helpful in academic activities.
Placements: TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and Cognizant are some of the companies that recruit our graduates. They hire for software roles, while core companies like Tata Motors and Jindal hire for supervisors, junior engineers, and some managerial posts. In our final year, we have to complete a project based on ML or AI, blockchain, or any other new technology.
Infrastructure: The college had annual arts and sports meets and festivals which helped in understanding the true potential of students other than academic activities. The college library and department library had many books and international journals to read. The activities of National Service Scheme and National Cadets Corps are also commendable.
Faculty: The faculty members at this college are quite good and helpful. They are always punctual to class, and classes are conducted on a regular basis. The faculty-to-student ratio is well maintained, and each student is assigned a faculty advisor. The exam pattern consists of a midterm (25 marks), an end term (60 marks), a teacher assessment (15 marks), and lab marks (100 marks).

One of the best colleges for M.Sc.
Placements: About 75% of students get placed in our college. The median salary is 4 LPA, with the highest salary being 6 LPA and the lowest being 2.5 LPA. CMFRI, ICAR Institutes, aquaculture companies, and environmental consulting firms are among the top employers. Approximately 70-85% of students are offered internships. The top positions offered are Aquaculture Manager, Fisheries Scientist, and Marine Biologist.
Infrastructure: The amenities at our college are good. We provide classrooms, labs, and Wi-Fi, among other essential facilities. The hostel office is housed within our institution, and the classrooms are furnished with instructional aids. The hostel food is mediocre. Our university has numerous sports teams, and competitions with other universities are held at sporting events.
Faculty: Although the tests are a little difficult, the teachers are incredibly competent, kind, and helpful. They educate well using both classic and modern methods, and the curriculum is designed to cover the key ideas while providing real-world experience, preparing the students for the workforce. 70% of them pass.

Fest are organized less compared to the other private colleges.
Placements: Many students got placed for their own talents but the college does not provide any placement facilities. The highest salary offered is 2 LPA, average salary is 1.5 LPA, and the lowest salary offered is 1 LPA. Top roles and companies do not depend on the college, it totally depends on the students. The college needs to improve their placement facilities.
Infrastructure: The college is under CCTV surveillance. It has Wi-Fi facilities, well structured and well-equipped labs, library and classrooms available. The college has hostels, canteen, and medical facilities for the students with an extra curricular activities area. The canteen has good quality of food.
Faculty: The teachers’ teaching quality is not too good, but they have knowledge, are qualified and helpful. This course curriculum is relevant, and it does not make the students industry ready. The semester exams are not difficult but cheating is not allowed. 70% students got passing marks.
Other: I love Geology which is why I chose this course.
