B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

Good infrastructure and sports facilities.
Placements: I am a first-year currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at KIIT. The placement scenario in this college is promising, even with the recession looming. Currently, 85% of students are placed with a median package of 7 lakhs, and some students have opted for higher studies at reputed foreign universities. Here, you can easily secure a minimum package of 10 LPA with the proper roadmap and guidance from teachers and seniors.
Infrastructure: A variety of courses are available for B.Tech with the best facilities. All classrooms are equipped with digital blackboards and furnished with fully air-conditioned rooms and benches. Our university has a total of 30 campuses, and each branch has its respective library and one 6-floor fully escalator-equipped Central Library and various sports facilities where national and international competitions are played, which include Biju Pattanaik Indoor Stadium, Cricket stadium, Hockey stadium, and Football stadium with huge seating capacity. Also, KIIT has launched India's first international standard 250-meter concrete Cycling Velodrome.
Faculty: KIIT employs teachers who are Ph.D. holders and actively engaged in research. Their teaching quality is superior to that of professors from prestigious institutes, and they are more attentive to students. The curriculum is tailored to the course, making students industry-ready. The curricula are designed by professors and faculty in their respective fields. The difficulty of semester exams is considered moderate to tough, depending on potential, study habits, and effort. According to my belief and knowledge, the pass percentage is approximately 90%.
Other: Fests and events are happening.

M.Sc. Biotechnology at KIIT.
Placements: Versatile opportunities in the field of food, chemical, and medical industries. Based on our developed projects, recruiters design our pay scale. Biocon, Syngenta, Biogen recruit candidates for their companies every year. During placements, our research activities were highly noticed by the recruiters.
Infrastructure: KIIT provides various courses including their specializations. Students from various backgrounds are doing their respective courses and it is a highly crowded campus. There are no sports periods included in their lesson schedules, but they offer some free time to do activities of our interest.
Faculty: Our faculty members play a vital role in supporting us during project submissions and exam preparations. When we are involved in research, whatever the outcome, faculty members keep encouraging us and make us feel boosted at all times. Some extra charges are required to be paid for buying books.

Thriving environment with outstanding infrastructure.
Placements: A minimum number of students are getting placed, while mostly students are still waiting. The highest package is 12 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA in our batch. The company selection process is becoming increasingly tough day by day, so students from non-IT backgrounds face difficulties in getting placements.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are better than others, including sports, gyms, gardens, libraries where students can read peacefully, and many more opportunities for a successful career. Wi-Fi facility is also available on campus, providing 15 to 20. Almost all students love the campus.
Faculty: Not all teachers are rude; some teachers are very good and soft-hearted. They are serious about our career. However, I don't think students are perfectly ready for the industry because they don't get enough preparation for what an IT company requires. Therefore, students may not have all the necessary information.
Other: Events and fests always happen on time without compromises. The campus crowd is always high, starting from the evening.

Nice college but high fees.
Placements: In 2024, about 90% of students were placed. The maximum number of students were placed at HighRadius and Deloitte. The top role offered was that of SDE. The highest package was 53 LPA, which was offered by Yugabyte. The lowest package was 5 LPA and the average was 8.5 LPA. Around 40% of students got internships, mostly in small startups.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are well maintained. All classrooms have AC and Wi-Fi. Labs are also properly equipped with the equipment. All departments have their separate library and there is a central library for students of all courses. Hostel mess food is average; do not expect much. Medical facilities are provided to all students. In case of any illness, you can visit KIMS, which is free. Sport facilities are excellent. There are swimming pools, gyms, cricket stadium and all other required sports facilities. KIIT is well known for its sports facilities for a reason. In 2024 more than 10 athletes went to the Olympics from KIIT.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. They are mostly Ph.D. holders, with some having master's degrees. The course curriculum is up to date and designed to make students industry ready. Semester exams are medium level. 2 weeks of study before the exams are enough to get good grades. The pass percentage is about 95%.

An average college, which I regret joining.
Placements: Placements are average at this college. My brother graduated from here, worked very hard, and still only got a 5 LPA package despite having a 10 CGPA. They claim the average is 14 LPA and the highest is 1.3 CPA, but that isn’t true.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good, laundry service is available, and Wi-Fi works well. However, the college's in-time is very early, and even seniors aren’t allowed any flexibility. Wardens impose fines even for minor issues, which isn’t satisfactory for a hostel. The food in the mess is average.
Faculty: Faculty are said to be among the top 2% globally, and teachers are qualified but very old, so the quality of education suffers. The college ranks NIRF 15 mainly due to K-Innovation, campus, and the area of the university, but placements are lacking.
