B.Sc. (Hons.) in Operation Theater and Anesthesia Technology - Batch of 2024

2Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
3/5 stars. No proper classroom, fulfilled stipend & placement promises. Limited job opportunities.
Placements: We were about 17 members in our batch. Still, I am looking for a job from the past five months, and I didn't get yet. We all did our internship in Ramaiah Hospital only. Roles offered are tutor, anesthesia and operation theatre technician, clinical application specialist, operation theatre nurse, and medical sales representative. And during our internship, our faculty took a lot of effort for getting us placed in various departments like cardiac OT, neurology department, accident and emergency department, ICU, and CSSD.
Infrastructure: There are Wi-Fi available all over the campus, and library facilities are good, but there are no books available for our course. Games, canteens, all are good. Our seniors had a different lab which was specifically built for Allied Health students, but for our batch, it was closed, and we were using the lab which was for MBBS students. Actually, we won't have much lab sessions at all; it's the sad part. We didn't have our own classroom also; we had to roam every floor searching for a classroom, but from this year they have given a separate classroom. And from the second year only, they start posting for operation theatre, and faculty make sure that students attend the clinical posting; in that case, I would like to say we have good faculty.
Faculty: Teaching quality is theoretically good. They are very good, qualified teachers. They teach everything in an easy way, but clinical-side, we ourselves should go engage, and during our clinical posting, we got knowledge only about the anesthesia side. On the surgical side, we don't have much knowledge because we didn't have anyone to teach us.
Other: Scholarships are provided but a very less amount. Extracurricular activities are there; many fests keep going on. In that case, I would say it's the best college for celebrating fests on our own found.

Good placements and teachers .
Placements: lot of companies recruit from our college every year, including MNCs. average package is around 6 LPA in our course. Students have to score above 7 CGPA to get good placement. The top recruiters are Interglobe, Airbus, etc. Internships are not provided by college so students have to find it by their own.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our course is good. Classes are comfortable and well ventilated. Labs are available to do practicals, and libraries are well stocked. Mess is available on campus at a reasonable price. Hostel rooms are furnished and large in size. Campus life is good here.
Faculty: The course curriculum is well designed and interesting. Teachers are very good and friendly in their behavior. All teachers are Ph.D.s in their subjects and have in-depth knowledge. Exams are strictly organized in our course and the passing percentage is 60 percent. Overall, the teaching quality is good in our course.

Classes and crowd are really good, and lecturers are supportive.
Placements: People are eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Companies like Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, TCS, Wipro, etc., have visited the college. The average salary package for CSE offered is 8.5 LPA, which is decent for a private college. The highest salary package last year offered was 60 LPA, which is pretty good. Almost 100% of students are placed here, and there is also a lot of startup culture. College also provides funding of 2.5 lakhs if they like our idea.
Faculty: Faculty to student ratio is pretty good, and there are a lot of qualified individuals available to teach a subject. They are also very helpful. If students miss classes for valid reasons, they help by re-explaining a topic and providing notes. Some faculty members of the mechanical department are pretty rude without any reason, and I didn't like their behavior throughout the first year. There are a lot of exams, two midterms of 30 marks each and then an end-semester exam of 100 marks. Scoring in midterms is very easy, but end-semesters have moderate difficulty. Many students fail in subjects, but that is not the fault of college, they simply do not study.
Other: In the first year of college, students are allowed to explore all club options and free to join any club as long as they display interest or aptitude towards a club or subject. Social life is good, as fests and events are regularly conducted, and students throughout the college can participate.

In the academic year 2023-24, out of 575 students, 474 students got an on-campus placement with an average salary package of 6.12 LPA. Engineering and technology is the best course offered by the university.
Infrastructure: Our college provides 24/7 Wi-Fi. Laundry services, vehicle parking, ATMs, coffee, tea, and ending machines are some of the utilities offered by the university. There is a common ground for cricket, hockey, football, and basketball. We have volleyball courts and indoor games such as table tennis, fuseball, etc. On-campus and off-campus hostels are available for accommodation.
Faculty: Faculty members focus on assuring quality, curriculum development, academic planning, research and innovation. The university focuses on developing skills rather than learning. The university follows a fair way of examination and it is conducted three times in a semester. We have 2 term tests and one semester-end examination. Faculty members of engineering and technology are the best.

Q:   Is Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences good for Pharm.D?

A:
{Source: Pharm.D students & alumni}

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what they have to say:

* Excellent Placement Record: Almost 60%-80% of students get placed every year, with packages ranging from INR4 Lacs to INR8 Lacs per annum.
* Internship Opportunities: Every student gets to participate in an internship programme at MSRIT Teaching Hospital, providing hands-on experience in pharmacy practices.
* Faculty Members: Teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, providing excellent guidance and mentorship.
* Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented, preparing students for real-world challenges.
* Campus Facilities: The university offers well-equipped labs, libraries, classrooms, and sports facilities, creating a conducive learning environment.

However, some students mentioned that:

* Hostel Accommodation: Hostel rooms could be improved, and students may need to find alternative arrangements.
* Mess Food: While the canteen serves decent food, there might be limited options for those with dietary restrictions.

Overall, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences seems to be a good choice for pursuing Pharm.D, offering strong placement records, internship opportunities, and experienced faculty members. However, potential students should weigh the pros and cons, considering factors like hostel accommodation and meal options.
