Established in 2010 through Meghalaya State Legislative Act, Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University has also gained recognition from Distance Education Bureau (DEB), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI) and is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It has received ‘Outstanding University in Training and Placement Award 2020’ in 16th World Education Summit-Hyderabad.
Mahatma Gandhi University Meghalaya comprises eight faculty, one centre and 21 departments offering courses at UG, PG, doctoral and diploma level in various streams like Science & Technology, Management & Commerce, Arts, Law & Education and Applied Technology, to name a few. Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship for Girls: To fulfill the dream of education for the woman, University has launched a 100% scholarship program for girl candidate only. Preference will be given to candidates whose family annual income is less than Rs.2,50,000 /-P.A belonging to any category (Gen/SC/ST/OBC etc.).
Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship for students from the weaker section in Delhi: Successful Candidate under this scholarship program will be awarded waiver of 20% of course fee.
