General

Requirements for 12th grade Up Arrow Icon

Candidates from Vadodara District must have secured at least 40% marks for general category (50% marks for other districts of Gujarat), SEBC 35% marks (45% marks for other districts of Gujarat) and mere pass for SC/ST candidates. The average percentage will be calculated on the basis of four-semester theory marks of three science subjects and for annual system pattern 10+2 marks will be considered as an average percentage. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination after appearing in the supplementary examination conducted by the GHSEB shall also be eligible. In case of candidates with 2 or more attempts 2% marks per attempt will be deducted from the average percentage.

Absolutely satisfied with college experience at Msu because of good infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: There were not any placements for B.Sc. . geography that I am aware of. There may be placements for M.Sc. though. Besides no one does B.Sc. . in geography for placements. Most of them want to prepare for competitive exams and want to hold some degree. And who were genuinely interested in geography will obviously go for M.Sc. .

Infrastructure: There is lab for Geography in Geography department where there are some tools available for experimentation. Wi-Fi is available in while campus not unlimited but enough. Classrooms are nice and fully ventilated. There are two big libraries. Hostel quality is average but affordable. Food is also nice in hostel. And there are three canteens in campus. Which have variety of food items available in reasonable price. Medical facilities are available to every student for free. Msu is best for sports and NCC. Most indoor and outdoor sports are available in campus. And there are many competitions available in year and all competitions are free to participate.

Faculty: All teachers are M.Sc. . and Ph.D. And they are really good in teaching geography. Course is okay although it does not include many things which are more important now. It does not make student ready for most industries. For that M.Sc. . would be more helpful. But it helps in preparing for competitive exam mainly like UPSC. Semester exams were not that difficult to pass especially in geography. Pass percentage is 40%. .

Other: I was looking forward to prepare for UPSC with geography as main subject. That's why I choose B.Sc. geography I would like to change course little bit. Make it more interesting to learn. There are many events and fests celebrated throughout a year. Campus is very nice and clean, very environment friendly. There are many trees around a campus. There are some scholarships available for students. One is digital Gujarat scholarship, DSW scholarship. Don't forget to be updated regularly about these scholarships and if other scholarships are available that make sure to fill that forms also.

Placements: Around 20-22% of students got placed in our course. The highest salary package offered ranges from 35 LPA to 40 LPA. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 10 LPA to 15 LPA. The average salary package offered varies between 20 LPA to 25 LPA. Top Indian and foreign companies visit our college for recruitment.

Infrastructure: Our department atmosphere was very good. Classrooms were spacious with windows. Wi-Fi was enabled, and projectors were also available. The food served in the hostel was good. Medical facilities were also provided. Sports were also conducted in this college.

Faculty: All teachers were very friendly but they were strict. They were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was the best. The course curriculum was relevant to make students ready for the industry. Semester exams were tough, and the passing percentage was 40%.

Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it. Many events were conducted like Navaratri, Dhuleti, etc. Our campus ground was huge. Scholarships were also provided to merit students.
