NERIST pros and cons. Hidden behind the hills of Northeast.

Placements: The placements are average. The average per annum incomes which our college gives range from 3 LPA to 9 LPA. Many known companies do come, like L&T, TATA Projects, Vedanta, OIL India Ltd. Unknown small companies also come for non-technical posts. Otherwise, you can prepare well for GATE and get better placements.

More or less, the college is great.

Placements: So far, there have been very few placements in my department. The top companies are Amul and Nestle, but they really don't want to come so far away from the main land for recruitment. So the campus selection is really low. But the TNP cell is working hard on this.

Quality education at NERIST.

Placements: In NERIST there is good placement. The maximum placement was 22 LPA. Every year, there are many placements of every branch. This college has a decent placement record, with a significant percentage of students being placed at various companies. It is a good college in the north-east region.

Our college has good infrastructure and facilities and is the best place for socialising.

Placements: In the mechanical department, last year's final year batch had 45 students, out of which more than 50% of students got placed, about 10 students were preparing for GATE, 5 students were into MBA courses, and around 5-6 students were looking for placements. The highest salary package offered was 20 LPA by Oil. The lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA by several IT companies. Top recruiting companies were Oil, IOCL, BHEL, NEPCO, NHPC, NTPC, NRL, Tata, Tisco, Mahindra, etc. About 20% of students...

Our college has good infrastructure and facilities but dissatisfied with hostels.

Placements: Placements are fine but few companies like OIL IOCL, etc. come for placement. Students opt for internships during summer from pre-final and final years. Around 3 to 4 students got placement in OIL and IOCL with 20 LPA.

Honest review of NERIST in 2022.

Placements: Placements are not so good in our college as it resides in remote area of Arunachal Pradesh in the North East region. Some of the public sector companies visit the campus for placements which include Tata, Asahi Glass, ONGC, OIL, NHPC, etc. Apart from that, other private companies like Tech Mahindra also visit the campus for placements at irregular intervals. But, this year it has been good in terms of placement as recently Google visited the campus for a placement with around 17 LPA.

It is a good institution, especially for engineering.

Infrastructure: Classrooms of our college are good. All kinds of instruments are available for practicals. The campus is not so good, but Wi-Fi is available on the campus. Hostel fee is a little expensive. Food provided is quite good. There is a central library where you will get all the necessary books. The medical facility is available in the campus. There is a free gym in the college. The infrastructure of the compound is not much attractive. Overall, you can study here if you don't get admission in Assam.

Dissatisfied with placements in 2017, but the faculty and course curriculum were very good.

Placements: Placements were not much good for our course in 2017, but the placements are quite good for mechanical and civil branches. For CS, companies like Tech Mahindra, Wipro, SAP, etc., have visited our campus and offered the roles of analyst, software developer, and tester etc. There are some schemes for internships. The stipend offered to me was Rs. 8,000 per month during my internship.

I'm not satisfied because of placements.

Placements: A few years back, placements were good for the students of electronics and computer science departments in B.Tech programme but not for M.Tech students. Although we had good percentages, placements are too bad now. I did not see any M.Tech student get placed here. Earlier Wipro visited our campus, but now from 2 years, even they are not visiting our campus. The salary package offered is 3 to 6 LPA. Only 5% of students were offered internships from college. There is a placement cell, but I do not...

I was satisfied with the course curriculum and faculty but not much satisfied with placements.

Placements: Placements for our batch and our senior batch were moderate. Around 30% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA. Companies like SAP, Wipro, Zaloni and Tata Zen have visited our campus. Almost 100% of the students were offered internships in different organisations. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 12,000 per month, and it was offered by IIT, Mumbai. There is a well-formed placement cell on our campus.

An old and forgotten institution. The placements and infrastructure are good.

Placements: In the placements for our batch, a total of 7 students were placed in PSUs like OIL, PGCIL, etc. One student got placed in Vedanta, and other 20 students got placed in private core companies. Regarding ratio, 1 out of 6 students was placed, and there are a total of 150 students. The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3.50 LPA. In the previous year, about 11 students got placed in PSUs. Almost 6-8 students got placed in other private core sectors, and...

A central government college for middle-class students.

Placements: Placements in the college are quite decent. There are no 100% placements, but as a rough estimate, around 40% to 50% of students get placed. Maximum of the students go for higher studies. There were companies like Vedanta, Cummins, OIL, Ethnos, Powergrid, Asahi and many more in the previous year's placements.

Review of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology.

Placements: Placements provided for the students of mechanical and electrical departments were good. IOCL and Power Grid, and the rest of the companies from IT-sector visited our college for recruitment. Our college needs to work more on the T&P cell. Priority has to be given to the permanent T&P officer, and the connectivity with the capital is poor, so it affects the placements.

NERIST provides everything on a consistent basis.

Placements: Placements are conducted through the college administrative body. T&P cell of NERIST along with student coordinators invites the companies to our college for placements. Companies which are invited to our college have their basic academic criteria as the first round selection is the elimination round. After that, they either conduct the interview directly or short-list on the basis of aptitude test. Companies like TCS and Cummins conducts pool campusing where they invite applications and on the ...

NERIST is the best college.

Placements: For placements, I would rate 8 out of 10. Many companies visit the campus like Power Grid, Oil India, and software companies regularly recruit the students of mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. Placement percentage is good, i.e., 50 to 60%.

It is significantly poor kind of institute being a central institute.

Placements: No significant placement is seen being a central institute. A great effort is yet to be given by the institute in this regard. Being a central institution, some reputed enterprises should be invited for the placement. Though the institute is located in an isolated place, yet the government and institute should move their steps forward.

Pretty good college for engineering, especially for the northeastern region students.

Placements: The placement of our senior batch is pretty good, but it should be better than that. Actually, due to the location of our college in the backward area, the placement is quite challenging. The highest salary paid is above LPA. Some companies that visited the college are the power grid, Dalmia, TechMahindra, Indian oil, and many other IT companies.

Placements: The placements are good. Many companies such as HP, Infosys, TATA, Adobe comes to college. However, only some get selected, but they offer a well deserving salary. They offer up to 16 lacs salary. Up to 30% - 40% students get the placements from this companies. The roles like consultants, certain department manager, are given.
