Q:   Is M.Sc. at OUAT worth the investment?

A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Highly qualified and cooperative teachers who are experts in their fields
* Good infrastructure facilities, including Wi-Fi, smart labs, and modern libraries
* Research opportunities and funding provided by the university
* Faculty members are well-experienced and knowledgeable in modern technologies
* Annual college fests and other extracurricular activities

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities for non-agriculture graduates (M.Sc.)
* No dedicated placement officer for non-agriculture departments
* Poor laboratory facilities and limited research equipment
* Limited industry exposure and interactions
* Course curriculum not tailored specifically to the needs of students

Placement Scenario:

* Around 80% of students are placed, mostly in government sectors
* Assistant professor, junior scientist, and agriculture field officer roles are commonly offered
* However, these placements are mainly for B.Sc. agriculture students, not M.Sc. students

In conclusion, while the M.Sc. programme at OUAT offers several strengths, such as excellent teaching staff and research opportunities, it also faces challenges like limited placement prospects and poor laboratory facilities. Potential students should carefully weigh these factors before deciding whether to invest in the program.

I am absolutely satisfied with the faculty members.
Placements: Around 80% of students are placed. Most of them are in the government sector. Top roles offered are assistant professor, junior scientist, agriculture field officer, probation officer, SEED testing officer, assistant soil conservation officer, and others.
Infrastructure: College is highly equipped with Hi-tech laboratories, large seminar halls, a gym, an indoor stadium, large classrooms, a central laboratory, various research stations, a central library, reading rooms, a common room, an Amphi theatre, and indoor nurseries, and many others.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, very cooperative, helpful, and knowledgeable. Many of them are the renowned scientist in the field of Agriculture. Their teaching quality is of international standards. Exams are conducted in the semester system.

It is the best Agriculture University in the state.
Placements: Many microbiology related companies like Bisleri, etc., visit our campus for placements. PhD students of our college are also offered in many institutions as lecturers and also as researchers. For further research, the university also provides funds to help its next outcomes.
Infrastructure: All kinds of infrastructure facilities were available, including Wi-Fi, smart labs, modern laboratories, etc. The canteen was also available, which was quite hygienic. I am a local student, so I have no idea about hostel facilities. The campus was clean with proper security.
Faculty: Faculty members were well experienced. They have knowledge of modern technologies, and handling of all technical equipment was good. Interaction among faculty members and students was generally done in a separate session, which is like a group discussion class. The course curriculum was useful for further exams.

I am dissatisfied because of placements.
Placements: College does not provide placements for our course because all placements are for B.Sc. agriculture students and not for other graduates. The college mentions placement in the prospectus in the time of admission, but maximum placements are only for agriculture students and most important there is no placement officer for our department.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good for our department only. Facilities like study tour, lab, computer class, placements, Wi-Fi, practical, group discussion class, proper communication process for learning for communicating are not available. There is no specific class, like any other MBA colleges.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and helpful. Teaching quality is also good. We don't get any industry exposure. But the course curriculum of agriculture business management is not useful as per its reputation. General MBA is more helpful than agribusiness management.

The college has a good infrastructure, but there was a lack of faculty and laboratory facility.
Placements: None of the companies visits the campus for placements. However, students were engaged in different bank jobs and state government jobs. But still, many students were unemployed and pursuing their higher studies like PhD. There was scope, but the extension work and dissemination of awareness was lacking. There may also some scope for research work, but the government was not interested in it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was good. There were enough classrooms for all students. But the laboratory facility was very poor. There was a requirement for much other research equipment and chemicals to carry out smooth research work. Classrooms of the PG and PhD students were not air-conditioned.
Faculty: The course curriculum was good. But faculty members were very less. There were two wings in the department, and one was academic and other was research wing. There were 2 faculty members in the research wing, but there were also 2 faculty members in the academic wing. But there should be at least 5 faculty members for better teaching and good work spirit for research scholars.

It has a rich diversity in knowledge.
Placements: There are many placements in this campus. Students nearly 70 percent secured placement in our college. It offered assistant manager post to PG and Ph.D. students in companies like itc and nagarjuna fertilizer company. So they offered for B.Sc. agriculture students marketing sector.
Infrastructure: It's a great campus. I would be privileged to be a part of it. It has advanced lab equipment for experiments to carry on. And our department has Wi-Fi facility to access the latest technology. It has a central library which provides students with books and the latest journals.
Faculty: I am a student of agronomy. Here professors are highly qualified and has wide range knowledge on entire agriculture field. Student to teacher ratio is 4:1 for PG and Ph.D. students. I carry research project and for research and completion of my thesis, my guide supported me.
Other: There is annual college fest, hostel fest and singing competition is organized.

It is the best institute. If you have an interest in agriculture, go for it.
Placements: Almost 40% of the students got placed in our course. The lowest salary offered was Rs. 23,000 per month, and the highest salary offered was Rs. 80,000 per month. You have great opportunities here. Including me, there are about 30-40 students who got internships. The highest salary package offered was of 9 LPA. You will get a job definitely.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms were very vast and perfect for study. Wi-Fi was also available. There was a huge library, and a good atmosphere to study. Hostels were neat and clean. All the facilities like medical, canteen, and sports were available. You can choose your favourite sports. Extracurricular activities were given importance.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were very qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality was excellent. You will feel secure among teachers, and all your doubts are cleared. All the students have a great future after passing out from the college. You will not face any problem related to teaching.
Other: I opted for this course because I like agriculture most. In our course, there are many options. My aim is to be a soil scientist. I have an interest in this. It has good connectivity.
