There will be 180 general multiple choice questions (Non-crop specific) in part A and 40 crop specific (Field crop and Horticultural crops in equal proportion) questions in part B following the common syllabi of Agriculture and Horticulture faculties. Candidates have to attempt all the questions in part A and any 20 questions from part B.

The entrance examination for admission into the Master’s programme in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and for the Doctoral programme is offline at Bhubaneswar. For the M.Sc. (Ag) course programme, the question of entrance test will be comprised of two parts Part- A and Part B.

What is the pattern of OUAT entrance exam? What is the duration of exam?

The Entrance Examination will be of 2 hours duration with 200 multiple choice questions of one mark each in English language only. There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer. The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) will cover the subjects taught at the Bachelor’s Degree level and Master’s Degree (major discipline) for the Master’s and Doctoral programmes respectively.

Can I get direct admission in OUAT?

No, there is no such procedure to take direct admission in the OUAT exam. Applicants are required to fill the application form and appear in the OUAT entrance exam for their desired course. Since there are two entrance exams OUAT UG & OUAT PG, hence applicants who want to take admission in their desired course need to apply accordingly. The application form, release of admit card, answer key & result will be released in online mode only.

When will OUAT 2024 application form be out?

The application form of OUAT 2024 will be released along with the release of the notification. According to observing the previous year's trend this year's authority may release the OUAT online form tentatively by the last week of April or the first week of May, 2024. Applicants who want to appear in the exam are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying online. OUAT Entrance Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The minimum education qualification to pursue a BSc course at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology states that aspirants should have pursued their Class 11 and Class 12 with Science and secured a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks including extra optional. Candidates who have applied for admission under the SC/ST/PH category need to have secured a minimum of 40 percent marks in their qualifying exam.

Apart from the above, aspirants need to have studied the below-mentioned subjects to be eligible for the OUAT admissions process 2024 :

Candidates who seek admission in “BSc (Ag.)/BSc (Hort.)/BSc (Forestry)/BSc (Home Science) without having Mathematics or Biology at the +2 level will have to make up their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics/Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters”, informs the official website.

Additional OUAT entrance exam BSc eligibility criteria that aspirants need to fulfil in order to secure admission is as mentioned below:

Cleared HSC or equivalent examination with Odia as MIL.
Candidates who do not have Odia as MIL but their parents are permanent residents of Odisha need to furnish evidence of permanent residency in the form of a certificate from the Revenue Officer concerned not below the rank of Tahasildar/District Magistrate/their employer concerned.
Candidates who do not have Odia as MIL and their parents are also not permanent residents of Odisha but are serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha. Such aspirants must furnish a certificate confirming the same from the Head of the Office/Institution where their parent(s) is/are working.
Odia students permanently residing outside Odisha must furnish a certificate confirming their Odisha origin either from their Employer/Tahasildar/District Magistrate (of the District in which they are residing). The certificate can also be submitted from the Tahasildar/ District Magistrate of their native place Odisha.

The above criteria (that is point 2 and 4) do not apply to ICAR/VCI nominees/Foreign Candidates/State Govt. sponsored candidates/children of employees of OUAT.

Age Limit: Candidates must be 17 years of age as of December 31, 2025 (that is, born on or before December 31, 2005).

Aspirants need to follow the below-mentioned steps as part of the OUAT admission process

Step 1: Fill OUAT Entrance Exam Application Form

Aspirants needed to fill OUAT entrance exam application form on the official website of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. At the time of submission of online application Form-A, candidates have to fill in the particulars such as correct personal information, e-mail ID, mobile number, choice of centre, self-declaration etc and upload his/her recent passport size colour photograph (Height: 200px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum), full signature (Height: 100px, width: 150px, file size: 200kb maximum) in jpg/jpeg format. After submission of the online application Form-A, an application number will be generated and sent to his/her mobile number & e-mail). Candidates need to pay the OUAT entrance exam application fee for UG course admissions online through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

Step 2: Get OUAT Exam Admit Card

Aspirants applying for UG course admissions can download their OUAT entrance exam admit card from the official website of the university. The admit card for the OUAT entrance exam 2024 comprises the candidate’s name, course for which they applied, centre allotted, date and time of entrance exam, roll number, photograph and signature. It is a mandatory document that needs to be carried to the exam centre.

Step 3: Appear in OUAT Entrance Exam

To be eligible for admission in UG & PG programmes offered by OUAT, candidates have to participate in the entrance exam which is two hours duration. However, aspirants seeking admission in the BSc (Forestry) course should qualify for the Physical Endurance Test to be conducted one day before their respective day of the counselling of each category, failing which their candidature for admission into the BSc (Forestry) course will not be considered”, informs the official website. OUAT entrance exam 2024 for MSc and PhD course admissions is two hours and the maximum score an aspirant can have in it is 100 marks. Candidates need to appear for the OUAT entrance exam as per the date, time and venue mentioned on their admit card. Candidates who are seeking admission in PhD programmes at OUAT also need to appear for the viva-voce admission round.

Step 5: Appear for Counselling
