Panjab University History

Panjab University was originally established in Lahore in the year 1882.
The Chandigarh campus served 202 affiliated colleges in Punjab state and Chandigarh UT, during the time of independent India.
During 1958- 1960, Panjab University was shifted to a newly built campus that was designed by Pierre Jeanneret under the guidance of Le Corbusier.
Rohtak, Shimla and Jalandhar became the regional centres for the University till the time of the re-organisation of Punjab in 1966.
Gradually, the colleges from the Union Territory of Chandigarh and some parts of Punjab were affiliated with Panjab University.

Panjab University Admission Process and Dates 2025

Punjab University admission 2025 is entrance-based for a majority of its courses. PUCHD entrance exams are PU CET, PU UGLAW, PU LLB Entrance Exam, and PU MET. Students are required to go through the university-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission. The Punjab University admission process is conducted via online registrations.
