PU CET UG 2025: Appliaction Form, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Admit Card & Exam Date

Candidates who has sucessfully compeleted their Class 12 or appeared for the same will eb able to appear in PU CET UG 2025 examiantion which will offer 4 year BSc Hons Degree and Pharmacy degree programme offered at Panjab University and other affiliated particiapting institutes for the academic session 2025-2026.

As the exam officials is yet to announe the PU CET UG 2025 exam regsutartion dates, as per the previous year trends followed, candidates can expect the release of the PU CET UG application form 2025 in the third week of March 2025, tentatively.

PU CET UG 2025 exam is expected to be held in the second week of May 2025, tenatatively at Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Muktsar, and Hoshiarpur exam centres in the offline mode for 70 minutes each section. Panjab University is a premier institution in India for education and research in the sciences, and its alumni are working in leading scientific and technological organizations in India and around the world.

The primary purpose of conducting the Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU CET) UG 2024 examination is to select eligible candidates for admission to undergraduate programs (BSc (Hons.) under the framework of Hons. School System (CBCS) and B. Pharmacy) offered by Panjab University and its affiliated colleges. The exam is conducted in a centralized manner, ensuring fair and impartial selection of candidates.

PU CET UG 2024 is a competitive exam, and the scores obtained in the exam are used to rank candidates. The admission process is conducted in multiple rounds, and the candidates with the highest ranks are offered admission to their preferred programs.

PU CTE UG 2025 exam will be conducted by the Panjab University for the academic session 2205-2026. As of now, the exam officails has not released any exam notification on the official website.

However, following the previosu year trends, the exam authrouty is expected to announce the PU CET UG 2025 exam notification and admission process schedule in the fourth week of March 2025, tentatively. Candidates who have passed their Class 12 and wish to get enrol in the BSc hons degree and Pharmacy programmes offered by Panjab University can appear for the PU CET UG 2025 examination.

The PU CET UG exam is a computer-based test (CBT) that is conducted in English. The exam is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Candidates can choose the subjects they want to take depending on the course they have applied for.

Each section of the PU CET UG exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions. Candidates have 70 minutes to complete each section. There is negative marking for incorrect answers, with 0.5 marks being deducted for each wrong answer.

The type of questions asked in the PU CET UG exam is based on the syllabus of the respective subjects for Class 12. The questions are designed to assess the candidate's knowledge of the fundamental concepts and principles of the subject.

The PU CET UG exam pattern is as follows:

• Mode of exam: Computer-based test (CBT)
• Language of exam: English
• Number of sections: 4 (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology)
• Number of questions per section: 60
• Type of questions: Multiple-choice questions
• Duration per section: 70 minutes
• Total marks: 120 marks per section
• Marking scheme: 2 marks for each correct answer, 0.5 marks deducted for each incorrect answer
• Negative marking: Yes

Candidates can choose the subjects they want to take depending on the course they have applied for. For example, if a candidate has applied for the BSc (PCM) course, they will need to take the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics sections of the exam.

To fill the PU CET UG 2025 application form, candidates will need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official PU CET website.
2. Click on the "Apply Now" button.
3. Register for the exam by providing your basic details, such as your name, email ID, and phone number.
4. Login to your account and pay the application fee through online mode.
5. Fill in the application form carefully, providing all the required information, such as your personal details, academic qualifications, and course preferences.
6. Upload scanned images of your photograph and signature in the specified format.
7. Review your application form carefully and click on the "Submit" button.

Once you have submitted your application form, you will receive a confirmation email. You can also download a copy of your application form for your reference.

To download the PU CET UG 2025 admit card, candidates will need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official PU CET website.
2. Click on the "Admit Card" link.
3. Enter your login credentials, such as your application number and date of birth.
4. Click on the "Login" button.
5. Your admit card will be displayed on the screen.
6. Download and print your admit card.

Candidates are advised to download and print their admit card well in advance of the exam day. They should also carry a valid photo ID proof, such as a passport or Aadhaar card, to the exam hall.

The age limit criteria for the PU CET UG exam is as follows:

•  Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission.
• There is no upper age limit for the exam.

Candidates are advised to carefully check the age limit criteria before applying for the exam. If a candidate is found to be ineligible, their application will be rejected.

Following is the requirements for a candidate who wish to appear for B Pharma Course :

50% Marks in 10+2 examination conducted by the respective
State/Central Government authorities recognised as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English, Physics,  Chemistry and one of the following subject:-
Biology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics

• Educational Qulaification Required: 50% Marks in 10+2 examination conducted by the respective State/Central Government authorities recognised as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English, Physics, Chemistry and one of the following subject:- Biology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics.
• Combination of PU CET UG Subjects: (i) Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or (ii) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM)

 Documents required at the time of counseling:
(i) Physical Counseling Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.
(ii) Admission Form (2 copies) to be downloaded from your login account.
(iii)Admissions Fee (to be paid online only on Payment website through Net-Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI on the spot after getting admission). Candidates are required to create their account  for making online payment. Account on payonline.puchd.ac.in must be in the name of Candidate only.
(iv) Photograph
(v) Original documents and one copy of all documents are required on the spot.

 PU CET UG 2025 results will be announced in the fourth week of May 2025, tentatively. Candidates who had participated for the PUCET UG 2025 exam can check their Panjab University result for different programmes by entering their roll number and the chosen subjects in the login window. The same step should be followed to check the Panjab University 2025 PG result.

• The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 Examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith, Allahabad are ineligible to appear in the PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test, as this institution has been derecognised by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Delhi, included in the booklet of recognised exams, has also been deleted from the Booklet. 
• The candidates having compartment in 10+2 examination held in March-2023 will not be eligible for admission in the course. The candidates who do not appear in PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test or who do not qualify PU – CET (U.G.) Entrance Test shall not be considered for the admission.

Admission in all categories shall be made subject to fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and in accordance with the provisions contained in the Handbook of Information and Rules for Admission, 2025.

1) 53.5% of the seats in each course shall be treated as belonging to the General Category.
2) 46.5% of seats shall be treated as belonging to the Reserved Category, as per the details given below:
(i) 15% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.
(ii) 7.5% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.
(iii) 5% for candidates belonging to the Backward Classes 

Panjab University (PU) has issued PU CET admit card 2025 on the official website in the first week of May 2025, tentatively. Students who have completed and submitted the application form before the deadline can now download PU CET admit card 2025 by visiting cetug.puchd.ac.in. 

To download the PU CET UG 2025 admit card, candidates will need to follow these steps:

1. Visit the official PU CET website.
2. Click on the "Admit Card" link.
