PU MET Syllabus 2025: Download Section wise Syllabus PDF

PU MET question paper is divided into six sections. These sections are: Data Interpretation and Problem Solving, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Economics and Business Awareness. These sections are further divided into the important topics which the question paper will be based on. Some of the topics include:

Data Interpretation and Problem Solving: Table, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Caselets, etc.

Numerical Ability: Percentages, Averages, Ratio and Proportion, Numbers and Its Applications, Algebra, Arithmetic, etc.

Reasoning: Syllogisms, Series, Arangements, Puzzles, Blood Relations, etc.

English Comprehension: Vocabulary, Phrases, Para Jumbles, Reading Comprehensions, Synonyms and Antonyms, Idioms, etc.

General knowledge: Current Affairs, Awards and Winnders, Business, Government and Politics, Sports, Science, etc.

Business Awareness and Economics: Global Economy, Indian Economy, Business Trends, etc.

The PU MET syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exams, which is Data Interpretation, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude or Numerical Ability, English Comprehension and General Awareness, only their nomenclature is different. So, candidates preparing for PU MET has to study the same subject, topics and sub-topics that they have to study in CAT, MAT or CMAT, etc. Also, the PU MET exam has a unique section, Business Environment, but the difficulty level of this section is usually easy. 

In fact, candidates can use the same books for studying for PU MET as well as other MBA entrance exams. In terms of difficulty level of the exam, PU MET is easier in comparison to other MBA entrance exams. The difficulty level of PU MET question paper is usually easy and there is no sectional time limit.

There are no specific books recommended by Panjab University, the exam conducting authority for the PU MET exam, but the candidates can refer to the following:

• General Knowledge: Lucent's General Knowledge, Manorama Yearbook
• Economics and Business Environment: Newspapers like The Economic Times, Magazines like Business Today
• Data Interpretation and Problem-Solving: RS Aggarwal's "Quantitative Aptitude," Arun Sharma's "How to Prepare for Data Interpretation"
• Numerical Ability: RS Aggarwal's "Quantitative Aptitude"
• English Comprehension: Norman Lewis's Word Power Made Easy, High School English Grammar by Wren and Martin, SP Bakshi's General Objective English

The Business Environment and Awareness is an important section of the PU MET syllabus. The important topics include:

• Economic Terminology
• Indian Economy
• World Economy
• Business Environment and Trends
• Government Policies and Schemes
• Financial and Economic News
• Banking and Financial Institutions
• Important Business Personalities

PU-MET exam is conducted in the paper-based test mode. The exam is conducted for 2 hours or 120 minutes. The exam has six sections and 200 questions. Each section has equal number of multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark and has four options each. There is no negative markings. The total marks in the PU-CET (PG) exam is 200. 

For Numerical Ability section of the PU MET question paper:

• Focus on understanding basic concepts and formulas.
• Practice regularly to improve speed and accuracy.
• Solve a variety of problems to become familiar with different question types.
• Take timed quizzes to simulate exam conditions.
