PU MET Eligibility Criteria 2025

MBA in Retail Management and MBA in Banking and Insurance Management

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in any discipline from Panjab University or any other university recognised by UGC/AICTE with minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed the final examination either from (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India or
  • Candidate must have passed the AMIE examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate or the diploma examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate and has at least five years of research/teaching or professional experience

MBA in Information Technology & Telecommunications Management

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (BE/BTech in any Branch) from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum of 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed a bachelor’s degree in any Science subject with Physics or Mathematics from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA) from Panjab University or its affiliated college with a minimum of 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed AMIE examination with a minimum 50% aggregate or has passed diploma examination with 60% aggregate and has at least five years of research/teaching or professional experience 

MBA in Pharmaceutical Management

  • Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed MBBS degree from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate or
  • Candidate must have passed bachelor’s degree in Science subject from Panjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate
  • Candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy from Punjab University or its affiliated colleges with a minimum 50% aggregate

Q:   What is the eligibility to apply for PU MET exam?

A:

The eligibility criteria differs for each course offered through PU MET exam. However, the basic eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in any discipline.
  • They must have secured at least 50% aggregate or the candidate must have passed the final examination either from (a) Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England or (b) Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or (c) Institute of Company Secretaries of India or

Yes, foreign nationals can apply for the PU MET exam through the Office of the Dean International Students. The foreign nationals must have the following documents:

  • Eligibility certificate from the Deputy Registrar (General), Punjab University
  • Academic certificate of passing the qualifying or equivalent examination
  • Test scores of TOEFL/IELTS

NRIs and Foreign Nationals have the seat reservation in different institutes and these seats are inter-changeable. That means, if there are enough vacant seats for NRIs then those can be used by other Foreign nationals.

Q:   Who is eligible to download PU MET admit card?

A:

The PU MET admit card will be available online on the official website. Students who have successfully submitted the PU MET application form before the deadline can download their PU MET admit cards. But, if the candidate has not paid the PU MET application fee, then they will not be eligible to download the PU MET admit card. Hence, the candidate must have completed the entire PU MET application process in order to download the PU MET admit card. 

The candidates must note, that the PU MET admit card will have correct details only if they have filled the application form with correct and true information. If there is a discrepancy in the admit card, students should immediately contact the examination authorities.

PU MET Application Process 2025

Step 1: Fill in the Application form

Candidates need to register and fill PU MET 2025 application form to be able to appear for the exam. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories need to pay INR 2175 as an application fee. While candidates belonging to the SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) need to pay INR 1087 to apply for the exam. The fee can be paid online or at the SBI branch using the website-generated e-Challan. 

Step 2: Download PU MET 2025 Admit Card

Registered candidates will be issued PU MET 2025 admit card. Admit cards will be available on the official website and will not be sent to the candidates through post. Candidates can download hall tickets till exam day by using their login ID and password. 

Step 3: Appear for PU MET 2025

PU MET 2025 exam was held in Paper-Based Test mode (PBT) at the Chandigarh Centre of the University. The exam duration will be for two hours.

Step 4: Check PU MET 2025 Result

PU MET 2025 result will be announced on the official website. No scoresheet will be sent to the postal address of the appearing candidates. To view the result, candidates will need to log in by using the application number and password. 

Step 5: Group Discussion and Personal Interview

Candidates who will clear PU MET 2025 exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates called for the GD-PI is around eight times that of the total number of seats available for MBA courses in each category. PU MET Exam Day Guidelines

Mentioned below are a few exam day guidelines that the students must follow:

  • Candidates need to reach Chandigarh centre at least one hour before the PU MET exam
  • Candidates new to Chandigarh should check exam centre location at least a day before to avoid the last-minute rush
  • Candidates must carry PU MET admit card and one photo identity proof issued by the Government of India on the exam day
  • Candidates should not wear a wristwatch, carry a calculator, smartphone or any other electronic gadget inside the exam hall
  • Carry a pen and pencil for the test. Do not take any rough sheets inside the exam hall.

Q:   Do IIMs accept PU MET scores?

A:

No, IIM does not accept PU MET test scores for admission. If you want to get admission to the IIM, you will have to appear in the CAT exam. Q:   What is the marking scheme of PU MET exam?

A:

PU MET has a total of 200 questions. For each correct attempt, one mark is awarded and one mark is deducted for an incorrect attempt. There is no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Therefore, the total marks of PU MET is 200. Candidates must choose the questions to solve very carefully and smartly as they will not be awarded marks for incorrect answers. If they are not sure of the correct answer, they should leave the question instead of taking a chance as there is no negative marking.
