B.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2028

One of the best colleges in Kolkata, West Bengal. Fantastic faculty infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: It's one of the most prestigious, history-rich colleges in West Bengal. Around 3 to 4 students every year from a batch of 30 to 40 get placed on campus. Most opt for higher studies in IITs and IISERs by taking the GATE and JAM exams. A large portion of our college gets accepted into them. As it's a reputed college, we get internships easily. Teaching institutions like Allen, Aakash, and PW offer good amounts of money to students with good CGPAs. As I have heard, TCS, HCL, and Infosys come here. In the economics department, the placement rate is much higher. Companies like McKinsey offer good packages, averaging 8 LPA. Despite that, our alumni network is good. You can get a job or teaching opportunities in Kolkata.
Infrastructure: Its infrastructure is really good. Students, teachers, staff, and scholars all have their own different Wi-Fi networks everywhere. There are libraries for each department, but the central library is massive, with 5 floors in total and thousands of books, including old historical books. New newspapers and magazines come daily, like the Times of India, The Hindu, Yojana, and Kurukshetra. The whole campus has central AC. We have 3 to 4 canteens. The food is delicious, and the price is low, too. We have basketball, badminton, volleyball, football, and cricket courts here, and carrom and chess playing places, too. We have government hostels, too. And most of all, everything is government-funded here, so it feels super cheap. We have a total of 7 buildings on College Street itself, all around 5 to 6 floors. There is a huge playground in the middle and lifts in every building. Bathrooms for boys and girls are everywhere.
Faculty: Every teacher is highly qualified. I will give an example: in our department, every teacher has done a PhD from an IIT or IISER. They are very helpful. We don't need outside tuition; lectures are enough. There are computer labs for 30 to 40 people in each department. The chemistry department has around 5 labs and personal workstations for scholars, too. The syllabus is fully CBCS-based and industry-ready. Exams are good enough. A 7.5 CGPA is good if you can get it.
Other: I love physics. It has high scope in the future, too, in data science, quantum computing, everywhere. We have an astrophysics department, too, so it's easy for us to research it in the future. Our department organizes seminars. Scholars, successful scientists from all over India, Google, and abroad come here for seminars. The campus crowd is wonderful; everybody is helpful. It's full of freedom. It's a people's college, really.

Review of Presidency University, Kolkata.
Placements: Approximately 80% of our course graduates have successfully secured placements in renowned companies such as HSBC, EY, KPMG and Capgemini, to name a few. The salary package ranges from impressive, with the highest offer of 8 LPA, to an average of around 6 LPA, with a minimum package of 5.5 LPA. Additionally, around 25% of students who applied for internships through the university landed valuable opportunities. Notably, roles include risk analyst and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Our campus is heaven for both academic and recreational pursuits. Sporting facilities like badminton courts, a TT room, a football ground and basketball courts cater to the athletic interests of students. Moreover, the departments are meticulously structured to nurture aspiring analysts, complements are meticulously structured to nurture aspiring analysts, and computer labs are accessible to all. Two computer-specialized labs are available.
Faculty: The applied economics curriculum is tailored to meet industry standards, particularly in the final two semesters, preparing students for real-world challenges. While the faculty boasts high qualifications, some may not always offer the desired support, with a few instances of snobbishness and bias. However, the department compensates with enriching lectures by visiting professors from across the globe, enhancing the learning experience for dedicated students.
Other: Beyond academics, the university fosters a vibrant campus culture with a myriad of events ranging from musical shows, concert and talk shows to filial promotions and political speeches. These extracurricular activities add an intoxicating charm to campus life, enriching the overall student experience.

The best college ever I have been seen.
Placements: The department to which it belongs does not currently have a work unit, unlike other departments such as economics and statistics. Internship opportunities are not readily available for motivated and curious students due to a lack of faculty support. Although it is an autonomous institute, the situation is not as favorable as in other universities.
Infrastructure: The laboratories are well maintained and offer a good variety of courses. The library has all the books needed for studies. Wi-Fi is free for all students. The hostels for boys and girls are well equipped and they also provide a bus for the female boarders. The boys' residence is close to the campus. 2 wineries with good food and affordable prices. Sports of all kinds are highly encouraged.
Faculty: All teachers are qualified and competent. Excellent supervision by all teachers. The course curriculum is geared towards more research opportunities and subsequent admission to good institutes. Semester exams are so difficult but manageable. Ideal for the intellectual development of students.
