PU LLB 2025 Exam Pattern: Question Types, Weightage, Marking Scheme, Mode

There will be total five sections in the PU LLB 2025 entrance exam - English, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Legal Aptitude. The Legal Aptitude includes topics like Indian Constitution, Indian polity, Law of contracts, Law of torts, Criminal Law, CrPc, Penal Code, International laws of major multilateral bodies like UN, WTO etc. The Current affairs section includes topics like: Current events of national and international importance with special focus on legal aspects, New appointments, achievements, Sports, awards and honours etc. General knowledge section includes topics from History, Environment, Polity, General Science etc. of up to class - 12th level. The English section includes topics from English,  Grammar vocabulary,  Antonyms-Synonyms, Idioms and phrases,  Sentence correction,  Fill in the blanks,  Parajumbles, Reasoning,  Puzzle,  Sets,  Number-series,  Logical patterns,  Blood relations,  Critical resoning,  Directions and Series.

The English PU LLB syllabus covers the following crucial subjects: 

• Fixing Grammatical Errors in Sentences' Synonyms and Antonyms 
• Tenses Complete the Gaps 
• Recognising Grammatical Mistakes 
• Both Passive and Active Voice 

The PU LLB English part allows the University to assess the following competencies: 

• language proficiency and comprehension.
• the capacity to read and understand the points of view and arguments presented in the passage.

• The capacity to encapsulate a section.
• The capacity to evaluate and contrast different claims or points of view
• understanding of words and sentences.

The Panjab University BA LLB (Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws) and BCom LLB (Bachelor of Commerce Bachelor of Laws) entrance exams have a similar exam pattern. These exams are conducted by Panjab University for admission to their 5-year integrated law programs. Below is the typical exam pattern for the PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams:

Exam Mode: The PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams are usually conducted in offline mode, which means pen and paper-based tests.

Duration: The duration of the entrance exam is usually 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

Type of Questions: The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question is followed by four answer options, and candidates are required to select the correct answer.

Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam will be 100.

Subjects/Sections: The exam consists of multiple sections, which will include: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability and English Language.

Yes, there will be a negative marking in PU LLB 2025 Entrance Exam. For every correct answer, +1 marks will be awarded. For each incorrect answer, -0.25 marks will be deducted. Candidates must try to attempt only those questions for which they are 100% sure to avoid loosing marks.

The Selection Process is done through both Merit and Entrance Examination basis. The minimum 50% marks is required in PU UGLAW Entrance examination to get admission here. The exam is taken for 100 questions which taken in 2 hours and total of 400 marks. Must mention their language choice in the OMR sheet. Since every wrong answer carries a negative marking of -0.25. Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance test marks.  You can, in private colleges you can get admission very easily. The Fee for PGLAW Entrance Test is 2100/- rupees and  1050/- rupees for SC/ST/PwD.

Many of the top PU LLB Entrance Exam scorers from previous years have stated that their preparation consisted solely of reading NCERT books. The foundation for finishing the course and gaining mental clarity and comprehension of the subjects and chapters is provided by the NCERT text books. Students may, however, also use other books and resources for practice. It is recommended that students start their PU LLB preparation with the NCERT texts and then go to other books and advanced resources.
