PU UGLAW Exam Pattern 2025: Weightage, Marking Scheme, Duration, Mode, Instructions

The Panjab University BA LLB (Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws) and BCom LLB (Bachelor of Commerce Bachelor of Laws) entrance exams have a similar exam pattern. These exams are conducted by Panjab University for admission to their 5-year integrated law programs. Below is the typical exam pattern for the PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams:

Exam Mode: The PU BA LLB and BCom LLB entrance exams are usually conducted in offline mode, which means pen and paper-based tests.

Duration: The duration of the entrance exam is usually 90 minutes (1.5 hours).

Type of Questions: The question paper consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question is followed by four answer options, and candidates are required to select the correct answer.

Number of Questions: The total number of questions in the exam will be 100.

Subjects/Sections: The exam consists of multiple sections, which will include: General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability and English Language.

PU UGLAW 2025 entrance test has MCQ type questions. These quesions are asked from four subjects, namely, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law, Mental Ability, and English Language. Based on these subjects there will be four sections in the question paper of the exam. Candidates will have to answer all these questions within 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes). There will be a total of 100 question in the question paper.

The mediums of the PU UGLAW exam question paper will be three languages: Punjabi, Hindi, and English. This means the questions in the question paper of the PU UGLAW exam will be in three languages: Punjabi, English, and Hindi. However, the English section of the question will be in the English language only. Thus, candidates who opt for Punjabi or English as their medium to take the exam will have to solve the English section in the English language. The PU UGLAW exam is conducted in the three languages mentioned here because it will allow candidates from all regions of India to apply for the exam.

The marking scheme of the PU UGLAW exam explains how the marking criterion based on which candidates' performance in the exam is being evaluated. The PU UGLAW marking scheme is mentioned below: 

1 correct answer = +1 mark

1 incorrect answer = -0.25 or - 1/4 mark

1 Unattempted answer = 0 mark

There will be a total of 100 marks in the PU UGLAW exam question paper. For each correct answer, candidates will get 1 mark. If answer a question incorrectly, you will receive -0.25 mark (-1/4) mark. Thus, 4 incorrect answers will lead the dedution on 1 mark in the PU UGLAW exam. If you skip a question or do not answer it, you will lose any mark

The PU BA mock tests can be found in the books designed for the preparation of PU BA LLB/BCom LLB Entrance Exam or PU UGLAW Entrannce exams. The mock test will be based on the PU UGLAW  syllabus and the exam pattern. By solving the mock tests for PU UGLAW in these books, you can prepare well for the exam. You can get these books along with the mock questions and previous year's question papers, at your local book shop. The total marks in the PU UGLAW exam are 100. These marks will be distributed in four sections. These sections and the main topics related to them are listed below: 

The last date to fill out the PU UGLAW 2025 application form has not been announced yet. However, the deadline to fill out the PU UGLAW 2025 registration form will be different from the registration deadline and yet to be declared by the exam authority.

The last date for deposit of the PU UGLAW fee through Online mode and the deadline date for uploading of photograph, signature with rest of the information in the registration form on the website for final submission will be notified after the release of the application form. Candidates will be able to submit printout of form along with required documents for claiming the concession of Entrance Test Fee for SC/ST/PwD/P.U. Employees by the deadline ascertained by the exam authority.

The SC / ST / Backward Class / PwD category candidates need 10% marks and candidates from all other categories need 15% marks. The minimum qualifying marks for each category is based on the category-based reservation criterion. There will be total 100 question in the exam carrying 1 for mark each. Thus, SC / ST / Backward Class / PwD category candidates will have to achieve 10 marks to pass the PU UGLAW exam. However, General category candidates need 15 marks to qualify for the exam.

The registration form for the PU UGLAW 2025 exam or the PU BA LLB/BCom LLB 2025 exam will tentatively be released in March 2025, at uglaw.puchd.ac.in. Once the registration process starts, the last date for registration will be provided here.

Candidates need to that the PU UGLAW 2025 registration form is different from the PU UGLAW 2025 application form. To fill out the application form, candidates will have to first fill out the registration form for the PU UGLAW or PU BA LLB / BCom LLB 2025 exam. Candidates can submit the application fee until the deadline ascertianed by PU. 

The PU UGLAW 2024 admit card or the PU BA LLB / BCom LLB entrance exam 2025 admit card will tentatively be released in April 2025 on the official UGLAW exam website of the Panjab University - uglaw.puchd.ac.in. Candidates will have to download their admit card before the exam date. The PU UGLAW 2025 exam will tentatively be conducted in online mode at exam centres in Chandigarh. It is mandatory for all candidates to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam day. Without the admit card, they will not be allowed to appear in the exam. They also need to carry an original copy of their Aadhar Card/ PAN Card / Passport.
