Is BCA at Sarala Birla University (SBU) worth the investment?

From the reviews and feedback collected, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Excellent infrastructure, with well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and a library
    * Good faculty members, with most having Ph.D.s in their subjects
    * Relevant course curriculum that prepares students for the industry
    * Opportunities for internships and placements, with top companies visiting the campus
    * Variety of extracurricular activities and clubs available

    Cons:

    * Placement record is not exceptional, with some students stating that fewer companies visit the campus compared to other institutions
    * Limited emphasis on hands-on practical learning and industry-specific skills
    * Some students found the course curriculum outdated and not entirely relevant to current industry needs
    * Average salary packages offered, with some students reporting lower salaries than expected
    * Limited support for entrepreneurship and startup ventures

Out of 5 star I will give 4 and the reason are some poor faculty and less placement offers.
Placements: Only 50–60% of students are getting placement. The 1st batch of this college had recorded a good percentage of placement, but as the year passed, the percentage rate increased. The highest package was 12 LPA, and the average was 4 LPA. Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Aditya Birla Capital, Aditya Birla Insulators, Grasim Industries Limited, TCS, Earnst & Young, Dell Technologies, HCL Technologies, and many more are the top recruiters.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facilities are not given to students. Classrooms and libraries are good. There are some good facilities and some bad facilities in the hostel. Foods in mess are superb. But the canteen charges a little high. And about medical facilities, I don't know about them.
Faculty: Some teachers are the best, and many teachers are time passing. The syllabus is not completed on time. Only a few teachers can complete it on time. Exams are avg. Not hard and not easy. Question paper is moderate. 33% is the passing percentage. Some teachers have best teaching skills and some have no teaching experience .
Other: BCA is a good course because it is all about computers. I like the networking subject. Some of the best faculty can improve my course. There are many cultural activities, and some events are also organised in my college.

    Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Approximately 80% of the students are placed every year in our university. The highest package offered is 18 LPA and the lowest package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Aditya Birla Group, etc. In the second year, all students get internships from a number of companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is new, as many buildings were constructed recently, and others are still being constructed. The college provides wifi, a library, labs, a playground, a mess, canteens, etc. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is good, and the taste is great.
Faculty: The professors are all great minds—helpful, qualified, knowledgeable, and great mentors for our future. Some subjects in the course are irrelevant, in my opinion. However, students are made industry-ready by conducting many classes for aptitude, interviews, etc.
Other: I chose this course as I was dedicated to learning about computer applications and not all the other stuff. The improvement that can be made in the course is to provide deeper knowledge about every subject. There are a lot of events held, like NAVRAS, Arambhmahotsav, etc.

Sarala Birla University is a Good College
Placements: College placements at Sarala Birla University are average for our courses. The highest package from our college is 12 LPA, while the lowest isn’t clearly specified. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, and other companies, with popular courses like MBA and BTech receiving more placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure at Sarala Birla University are good, featuring a solid building structure and effective management. Classrooms have proper lighting, desks, and chairs, and the Wi-Fi facilities are reliable. Games and sports are also organized occasionally on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive and help students effectively. Exams are conducted in a proper and orderly sequence, with appropriate timing and gaps between them. Results are published on time, allowing students to qualify as expected.

Take admission here if you want to destroy your career!
Placements: Placements are poor. Very few companies come here for drive and the average package offered is 3LPA. Students look for off campus, which is too hard to grab as companies look for experience. Often sales opportunities are brought in technical batches too. No internship drives are conducted.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is enabled in campus but only for faculty members, students are not given the access. Library is there but equipped with general books, not those that are recommended by faculty members. Labs do not have android studio, etc. Infrastructure is beautiful. Food is available in mess and canteen. Annual sports is conducted every year.
Faculty: The curriculum is outdated. Students are not asked to choose subjects for open electives, it is impose on the basis of availability of faculty members. Teaching are done in whiteboards, there are no practical learnings, no development of apps, no exposure to MERN for web development, only theories for machines learning, no ML model, and the list goes on. This college is more like a school. Same faculty is required to teach multiple subjects. What can be the quality of teaching if faculty members are given multiple subjects to teach in different classes. Many good faculty members have left the college. Exams are conducted regularly.
Other: If you want to organize an event, you have to go through so many things that cannot be mentioned here. Scholarships are provided but they are being reduced for upcoming batches. Attendance criteria is above 75% to be eligible for giving exams, below which you need to pay a fine. Overall, you do not learn anything useful in college, and are not given time to do it by yourself. If you take admission here, you are going to destroy your career.

    Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Only a small percentage, ranging from 20-30%, of students are able to secure placements in the BCA program. However, a majority of students opt for pursuing an MCA degree. While on-campus placements primarily attract start-up companies, the placement department goes the extra mile to assist students in securing off-campus placements by providing them with information about available job vacancies. The highest salary offered to BCA graduates typically ranges from 4 to 6 lakhs, while the average salary falls between 1 to 3 lakhs.
Infrastructure: The college boasts excellent infrastructure, featuring four well-equipped computer labs and a spacious library that houses a wide range of academic books, fiction novels, and more. The library is also air-conditioned, providing a comfortable environment for studying. The classrooms are clean and modern, equipped with projectors and smart-boards. The hostel facilities are top-notch, with separate accommodations for boys and girls. The hostel offers a delectable food menu, including muffins, samosas, Pohas, and more, ensuring that students have a variety of snacks and nutritious meals. Additionally, there are two canteens on campus, one being Die Mensa and the other a smaller option for takeaways, where students can conveniently pay for their food and enjoy it.
Faculty: Teachers are generally very helpful, although there may be a few exceptions. All of the teachers are qualified, but there are some who may lack effective teaching skills. On the other hand, there are also some fantastic teachers, so it ultimately depends on your luck which teacher you are assigned. The course curriculum is commendable, but the college provides very limited time for each semester. As a result, sometimes teachers are unable to cover all the modules. If you aspire to study for placements, you will need to put in extra effort on your own. Additionally, the college lacks a strong coding culture, so if you aim to be industry-ready, you must work hard independently. The exams themselves are not overly difficult to pass, but it is crucial to make comprehensive notes as the majority of the questions are based on them.

    Worst college, unmemorable
Placements: Worst batch, bad experience. Don’t take admission; no placement, and no teacher is interested in teaching. Only a limited number of companies come for placement. Please don’t take admission. I don’t think there is more than a 4 LPA package offered by any company.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good; the campus is very big, and the classroom and labs are also good. But there is no AC provided by the college in classrooms or labs. The ground and hostel are good, and there is a canteen on campus, but the guards are very disrespectful.
Faculty: Some of the faculties are good; otherwise, all are the worst. They don’t know how or what to teach and only come for time pass. They do whatever they want without thinking about students’ careers and life goals; they can’t think about yours.
Other: I chose BCA because I am from a non-science background, and I want to work in the tech field, so this is the course that teaches you how you can relate.
