How do I select the domain subjects for CUET UG?

Before selecting the test or domain subjects, candidates are advised to visit the official website of university/organaisation they wish to apply for. Candidates must check the courses offered and eligibility test that they should appear in for admission to desired course. The choice of language/domain subject and General test will depend upon the course and university. Candidates will be able to opt for one or more tests as per the requirement of the course and university fro the following sections: Section IA - 13 Languages Section IB - 20 Languages Section II - 27 Domain Specific Subjects Section III - General Test It is not mandatory to choose any one or more of the tests stated above. The choice of tests would depend on the course/s opted by the candidate and the University / Organization / Institution where admission is sought.

Can I opt for several subjects in section II of CUET to apply for various courses?

Yes, an CUET applicant can opt for one or more combinations of the following: Section IA and I B: Language Test Section II: Domain subject test Section III: General Test Candidates will be able to opt up to a maximum of six subjects in order to apply to different applicable courses that require these subjects for being eligible for admissions. Candidates must ensure that they have studied these subjects in 12th grade or as prescribed by a particular University under their eligibility conditions for a particular programme.

Does CUET require OBC certificate?

Yes, OBC candidates applying for CUET must upload the OBC-NCL certificate in online CUET application form. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If candidate fail to upload the OBC-NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 April, 2024) at the time of CUET 2025 registration, then in such case they will have to upload a declaration in lieu of OBC-NCl certificate to that effect. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

How do I apply for a college which requires CUET percentage even though am yet to give CUET?

Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2024 application form. While filling the application form, candidates will be required to enter the name of the preffered universities and courses in order of preference. On declaration of the CUET results, the scores will be shared with the unoversities for which candidate has applied. Basis on the score obtained candidate will be shortlisted for the applied course.

What if I get compartment, then will I be able to appear for the CUET and get admission in college?

Yes, it is possible to appear for compartment exams and still appear for CUET and secure college admission within the same academic year. Educational boards conduct compartment exams for students who performed poorly in one or two subjects during their board exams. These compartment exams are typically held a few months after the regular board exams and offer students an opportunity to reattempt any subjects they failed, thereby improving their overall pass percentage. In situations where a student does not meet the admission requirements for college due to failing one or more subjects in their board exams, they can opt to take compartment exams with the aim of enhancing their grades. Once the results of the compartment exams are published, students can utilize their improved scores to fulfill the CUET college admission criteria. It's essential to keep in mind that the admission procedures for each college and university can differ, and some institutions may have specific additional requirements or application deadlines for students intending to take compartment exams. Therefore, it is advisable to inquire about the admission policies regarding compartment exams at the respective college or university.

What is the criteria for admission via CUET exam?

For admission in Universities through CUET (UG) - 2025, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences etc.. of the respective University / Institution shall be applicable. For appearing in CUET exam there is no age limit, however, candidates will be required to follow the age criteria (if any) prescribed the university in which candidate is desirous of taking admission. As the eligibility criteria for admission may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs. Mere appearance in the CUET exam will not guarantee admission to the programme untill the candidates has: Studied subject (s) in major Fulfilled the subject combination criteria

Who can avail the scribe facility for CUET UG?

PwD candidates who are visually impaired or have disability in the upper limb or have lost hands/fingers which prevents them from operating the CUET UG computer based test will be able to avail the scribe facility. Such candidates can take the help of scribe for reading the questions or keying the answers as per the direction of candidate. The scribe will not be allowed to explain or suggest the answer. To avail the service of scribe, PwD candidates must opt for it while filling the CUET 2025 application form. The scribe will be provided by CUET 2024 conducting body National Testing Agency (NTA) only.

What is programme specific eligibility criteria in CUET?

For admission to the desirous University/Institution, the candidates must appear in CUET 2025 in the Languages and Domain Specific subjects as per the Program-Specific Eligibility for which s (he) is desirous to take admission. For instance if candidate wishes to apply for B.Com (Hons.) programe in Delhi University he/she will be required to make the subject combination as : Combination I: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 OR Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1 Candidates are advised to check CUET programme specific eligibility criteria before filling the application form, failing which they will not qualify for further admission process.

University Wise Eligibility Criteria For CUET UG

CUET 2025 eligibility criteria determine whether a candidate is eligible to apply for UG courses offered in all the CUET participating institutions. Candidates who wish to apply for CUET must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by NTA. CUET UG eligibility criteria prescribes the age limit, academic qualifications and nationality. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the CUET application form 2025 tentatively in last week of February at cuetug.ntaonline.in. NTA will administer CUET UG 2025 exam in May/June 2025 in CBT mode.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025

To meet the eligibility criteria for appearing in the CUET exam for UG course admissions, aspirants must satisfy the below-mentioned requirements.

CUET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Academic Qualifications

Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognized board in any stream to take admission to bachelor’s degree programmes in the Central Universities.
For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50 per cent in Class 12; for SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45 per cent in Class 12 to be eligible for the CUET 2025. For BTech programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45 per cent, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40 per cent.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025: CUET Age Limit

For Age Criteria the candidates will be required to fulfill the CUET age criteria (if any) of the Universities in which they are desirous of taking admission.
The admission to Universities through CUET (UG) the educational qualification is subjective to existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservations, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc. of the respective University shall be applicable.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2025: Nationality

To get eligible for the CUET Exam, aspirants must abide by the following citizenship rules:

The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
A constituent subject of Nepal, Bhutan
A Tibetan refugee who landed in India before 1 January 1962 to make India their permanent home and reside there permanently.
Pakistanis, Burmese, Sri Lankans, Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Zambians, Malawians, Zaireans, Ethiopians, and people from Vietnam who permanently moved to India.

CUET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Reservations

Indian nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them under the rules prescribed by the Government of India. However, in the case of the Central Universities, the reservation policy of the respective universities shall be applicable.

For GEN-EWS Category

GEN-EWS certificate needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET UG 2025 which should have been issued on or after 01 January 2025 in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS certificate (issued on or after 01 January 2025) at the time of online registration, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of Gen-EWS Certificate at Annexure-IB mentioned in the CUET Brochure 2025] to that effect.

For OBC-NCL Category

OBC-NCL certificate needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET UG 2025, which should have been issued on or after 01 January 2025, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If any OBC-NCL candidate fails to upload the OBC- NCL certificate (issued on or after 01 January 2025) at the time of online registration, the candidate has to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of OBC-NCL Certificate as per Annexure-IIB mentioned in the CUET Brochure 2025] to that effect.

For SC or ST Category

The caste (for SC) or tribe (for ST) certificate needs to be uploaded in the CUET online form 2025, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

NOTE-

As the eligibility criteria for admission through CUET 2025 may be unique for every University, the candidates are advised to visit the University website to which they are applying for their respective programs.
Candidates are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the eligibility criteria laid down by the University they are applying to.
Mere appearance in the Entrance Test or securing pass marks at the test does not entitle a candidate to be considered for admission to the Programme unless he/she fulfils the Programme wise eligibility conditions of the University they are applying to.

To qualify for admission to the desired University/College, the Candidate must have passed class 12 or its equivalent examination from a single recognised board and must appear for CUET as per the subject combination mentioned below for the applied program(s). CUET Reservation Policy 2025

Candidates desiring admission to Universities offering UG programmes must ensure to check CUET reservation criteria. As per the reservation criteria, candidates belonging to reserved categories are exempted by 5% for each program. Universities follow the reservation policy as per the Government of India. Candidates failing to fulfill the procedure to claim reservations will be disqualified from the admission process to any university.

CUET Application Form 2025

Candidates fulfilling the CUET UG eligibility criteria 2025 can fill the CUET 2025 registration form. Candidates will be required to visit the official website of CUET- cuetug.ntaonline.in and create login credentials to fill the CUET application form. Candidates must ensure to pay the CUET registration fee 2025, without which the registration process will not be considered complete.
