SMVDU is good in infrastructure, good faculty, good lab and a good sports ground.

Placements: Placements are average for mechanical engineering students. 20 to 25% placements are there for mechanical students. I am a final year student of SMVDU and I am facing the same problem of placements. The highest placement package was offered to one of my close friends at 4 lakhs and the average package is 3.5 lakhs.

SMVDU review. Absolutely dissatisfied because of faculty and placements.

Placements: Placements in my senior batch were better than mine. Though, the companies that come for campus placements are TCS, HCL and Infosys. Lowly IT companies we can say, offering a labour class package to students, which is 3.15-3.5 lakh per annum, that too with a bond of 2-3 years. There are no internships provided on campus, so the students have to try it for themselves.

The best place to study conglomeration with the best faculty and best students.

Placements: Placement is good. But mostly IT companies like TCS, WIPRO and L&T visit the campus. In a nutshell, there are very few opportunities for core branches. Computer science students have a good opportunity for getting a good package as the tech aspect used to give more than 5 lakh per annum. .

Rotten paradise (good infrastructure and facilities but bad faculty).

Placements: A decent amount of companies visited our university for placements in the year 2014 and 2013. Companies like TCS, L&T Infotech, Nestle, HCL, Capgemini, Orange, etc recruited 80% of the total eligible students and provided an average of 3-4 LPA package. Maximum being 5.6LPA by Orange. SMVDU is a good place for students opting for internships as a large chunk of students were selected for the summer internship in the year 2014. They were hired for various summer projects with an average stipend o...

Infrastructure is good but the faculty members are not up to the mark.

Placements: Around 30 percent students got placed from university placement drive. Majority of them are from electronic and computer science background. In terms of salaries, the highest package offered is 4.8 LPA, lowest is 2.3 LPA and the average reaches to 3.2 LPA. Roles are offered as per their choice of engineering field.

Good infrastructure, good living facilities, good hostels but not good teaching. It is improving.

Placements: The placements in SMVDU are not as high as compared to other colleges because of its remote location. Every year almost 30 to 40 percent of the students get placed in the on-campus placement drive. Mechanical engineering has very few campus drive companies but they can try for the IT sector companies which come to our campus. Some of the companies that regularly comes to our college are Wipro, TCS, Orange, Mahindra etc. However, the college is growing continuously and the number of placements is...

I'm absolutely satisfied with the quality of knowledge I got from here.

Placements: For the previous batch placement was good- about 80%. For our batch the placement was not up to the mark and was about 60%. The highest salary paid was Rs. 3.6 lacs pa and the lowest was Rs. 3 lacs pa. There were many companies that came to my college, but I can't actually remember the name. Most of the companies were from IT sector. Almost all the students of our batch got internship at different places depending on their specification. A good college for studies. Good infrastructure and faculty, but quite lesser placement.

Placements: Placements here are not very of high standards. Few IT company visit our college every year. Almost all students who are eligible get job offers, but only from IT companies. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 3 - 4.5 LPA. Mainly students who got placed earlier are offered designation of software developer. No relevant efforts are made by T&P office in regard of internships. Student themselves arrange their internships and stipend depends on the type of internship.

Placements: The placement is very good as most of our seniors got placed. The highest salary offered is 5 lacs, the lowest is 3 lacs and the average salary is 3.5-4 lacs. The main recruiters are Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), Wipro, Tech Aspect, L&T, Orange. Indian army, Indian air force and Indian navy also came into the campus. The best university in India, with really good infrastructure and nice weather.

Placements: I completed BTech from SMVDU in 2015 and 70% students were placed in 2015, but in 2016, 90% students got placed. In both the years, the companies offered a maximum of 3.5 lacs. I got an internship from SVNIT in 2014 and two other friends also got it from SVNIT. My friends Apoorva and Prayag got the internship from IIT.

Salaries offered were between 3-4 lac per annum for students placed in Wipro, TCS and L&T Infotech. Some were recruited by Army, Navy and Airforce. This college has beautiful infrastructure & modern laboratories. The faculty is helpful at every stage and is available for the students. Since, it is located in the remote location nearby Katra, therefore one might feel isolated sometimes but it provides a different learning experience. This college is better than any NIIT.

Good but too expensive and not up to mark. Very cheap crowd, I will not suggest anyone to come here and study. Water is not provided on time also electricity is poor. Teachers are good, but no effort of intellectual, improvement is taken. Bookish knowledge is granted. It should be improved and made better. I suggest that, it should be installed in the campus as MBA students are paying huge amount of money.

I consider this University, as one of the best in infrastructure, education & facilities. There are lots of placement opportunities for student and the time to time sports and cultural activities gives an ample amount of confidence and interaction amongst the students. One of the best thing about the university is, its hostels and food. View of the mountains and the university being in front of Maa Vaishno Devi shrine gives a holy essence.

Collage lags in many basic things such as placements of students and many more but still higher officials of this collage are in a fake dilemma that this is the best college in the world. Officials of this college are highly irresponsible regarding future of students.

In hostel there is separate rooms for each student, rooms have Balcony with mountains and the holy view of shrine of Shrimata Vaishno Devi. The previous record of placement is very good. The weather and environment is very pleasant and peaceful and this is what you need the most to study.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University is arguably the best engineering institution in J&K. The campus is lush green, situated in the valley of Trikuta hills, where you will find nature at its best.
