Swarnim Gujarat Sports University was established in 2011 by Government of Gujarat and is UGC approved. The university provides career programmes in the field of Sports Management, Sports Event Management, Sports Tourism, Sports Law, Sports Journalism, Sports Nutrition, Sports Physiotherapy, and Sports Massage. SGSU also offers MPhil and PhD in Physical Education and Sports Sciences and has more than 60 research scholars.

SGSU has collaborated with more than 30 universities in India and with more than 5 international universities. SGSU also played a pivotal role in organising events at the state level and national levels such as Khel Maha Kumbh, Pre Vibrant Gujarat Sports Summit, Vyayam Setu, and Water Sports at Narmada Park, Bharuch. SGSU offers more than 10 courses at UG, PG, and doctoral level. Furthermore, it also offers diploma and certificate courses.

Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Admission Process

Admissions to SGSU undergraduate programme will be based on the merit list
Admission to PG courses is based on the marks obtained in the Written Test/ Sports Proficiency Test/ Fitness Test, as organised by the university
For admissions to SGSU Integrated MPhil and PhD course, candidates must have a master’s degree with a specialisation in physical education & sports sciences with a minimum aggregate of 50%

Swarnim Gujarat Sports University Courses

SGSU offers a multitude of programmes ranging from UG, PG, PhD, Certificate, and Diploma courses in various specialisations. There are a total of six faculty offering degree programmes. Currently, SGSU is planning the commencement of new courses such as PG Diploma in Sports Tourism and Adventure Sports Administration. Placements: Our college provides many good opportunities for students to get their dream jobs. Many well-reputed companies visit our college to offer placements and internships. Almost 80% of students got placed in our college with high salary package packages.

Infrastructure: Our labs have all equipment and are working well. Our college has a huge library.

Faculty: Our faculty members are supportive. They have in-depth knowledge of all subjects. The HOD is separate for each department.

Other: It is an excellent college. Our college conducts many functions like invocations, etc. Our college provides many career opportunities for students.

Review of Swarnim Gujarat Sports University.

Placements: It's a new course which is recently introduced. So the interest of students is not much but as the time passes it's becoming the rising course and students are interested in it. There is less chance of placement because college doesn't provide you with that facility and you take the placement on your own.

Infrastructure: There are no facilities in the hostel. We have managed all the things on our own. Good classrooms and college buildings have to admire. About the course, it's a very good course and the future looks bright for this because the sports are developing at a very high rate in India.

Faculty: There is good faculty for all the respective subjects. They have good knowledge of every field. There is a good environment for the exams and conduct well by the management. The students also support them well. For to take admitted to this college you have to pass the 12th class and have some basic knowledge of sports and awareness of games and the field.

I am satisfied with the faculty members, good placements, and infrastructure.

Placements: More than 90% of students who are willing to go on their own have got an internship. The role offered by the course is for a person who wants to opt for event management as a career. It provides different internships in sports event management.

Infrastructure: Our college provides a hostel facility and labs. Classrooms have a projector and comfortable sitting system. Basketball, cricket, and football ground are available on the campus. Different sports matches are also held on the campus.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and great in our college. They have practical knowledge. The course provides fully theoretical and practical knowledge for the students. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it also makes the students ready for industry. Semester exams are not that difficult if you regularly attend the lecture and prepare everyday notes.

Other: Many different events are held on the campus like Mr and Miss LJ, inter institute sports matches, etc.

I am dissatisfied with the response if we question anything related to the college system.

Placements: There are many students in our class. I was interested in B.Com, but in this college, there was no option for B.Com, so I selected B.Ed in MJ Kundaliya college. However, there are no placements for B.Com graduates. Our college organises a job fair on campus only, but there is no guarantee that you will get a job.

Infrastructure: Our college provides Wi-Fi and classrooms. The library is very boring, and you cannot get books to read. You have to only read what is related to the course in the library. There are very minimum sports. I wanted to play badminton and throw ball games, but these games are not allowed here. It has a small canteen.

Faculty: Not all teachers are helpful and educated. Some teachers are very helpful and good. They will guide us. They provide books that are not at all useful, and we have to pay fees for them. We have to purchase maximum books from outside.
