Review of Tumkur University.
Placements: There is no sort of placement that will take place; we need to find it on our own. The college will not look after jobs, internships, or placements. You will just waste your career if your job-oriented career at this college or in this course is not suitable.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are spacious and the college is located in a prime location with a with a well-equipped laboratory. There are two boys and girls hostels in the college itself, and there is one library with a digital library facility. There is no Wi-Fi facility; only a computer has access. Washrooms were just built a month ago; there is no proper washroom facility either. There is a Xerox and a stationary shop within our college campus for student requirements.
Faculty: Lectures are well qualified but they don't complete the syllabus. Notes will be given just before the exam. There is no exposure to any other sort of curriculum or industry. Exams are held every semester; it's quite difficult. Lab exams are held so strictly. The pass percent is 35% and the marks are 24 for 60 marks .
Other: Microbiology is one of the most interesting subject for me but in our city, only one college have this course, which made me choose this course at this college. The teaching lectures need to improve their teaching methods, as some of them show an attitude toward the students. Fests like SRUJANA, which is meant to celebrate and award achievements,. ASHMITHE, it's a talent show. Campus surroundings: It's a lush green campus, about 50 meters away from the main road and the same distance from the bus stand. There are all the required facilities there, like medical shops, hospitals, stationary, food stalls, etc. The scholarship offered is the SSP Scholarship. Extracurricular activities are there, such as sports, NSS, NCC, rangers and rovers. And they are OEP, which is an open electives paper; we can choose any other course rather than which we opt for semester-wise; and SEC, which is a skill enhancement course.
