Placements: You have to look for the companies for internships by yourself. Or you can choose a short new research project to work upon in your last semester, and you can even publish your work in some good journals. Also, you can learn a new software to enhance your profile.

Infrastructure: The overall campus experience in USTM is beautiful. The campus is very big with huge, beautiful buildings and infrastructure. We have a gym, pond, numerous parks, and a huge amenity center. It has the Northeast's largest auditorium and a library with over 80,000 books; every department has its own library. The football grounds are not good; they are the worst and getting worse every year. The ground is only meant for parking university buses and other things. Besides, the university doesn't allow female students to use the gym or be on campus after 5:00 PM, not even in the canteen or library.

Faculty: The faculty in our college are truly supportive in all aspects of a student's life, allowing us to explore a lot and build friendly, healthy relationships. Thankfully, I got all my department staff as my favorites, and to honor that, it is Sujithra ma'am. Unlike my favorites, I actually ignore the physical education staff because of their partiality and mannerisms. There are 2 semester exams per year, which are quite easy to handle alongside cultural sports and other activities. Only 2% may not clear the exams. The curriculum is closely relevant to the course every year.

Placements: From the 3rd semester, they are eligible to sit in placement. 100 companies visit our college. The selection process is based on the exams they conduct and interviews. Also based on graduation marks. The highest package was INR 20 LPA and the average was INR 4 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and the facilities provided by the hostel were good. The campus of the hostel was very secure and safe. Accommodation in the hostel was based on a first-come, first-served basis. There were separate hostels for both boys and girls. The hostel provides many facilities, like a free Internet facility, 24-hour water supply, hot water facility, refrigerator, washing machines, dispensary, etc. The hostel appoints a warden who takes care of all the students and looks over all the amenities.

Faculty: I did my graduation in economics and I was also interested in pursuing a masters in it for teaching as a career, which is why I chose this course. The student ratio is 15:1. The faculty is really good and experienced here. They are helpful and kind, and they listen to understand their student's problems. Even they help in personal matters if facing issues. The professors, associate professors, and assistant professors are all very experienced and knowledgeable. Their teaching method is flexible depending on the way in which the students understand like using whiteboards, discussions, examples, interactive methods, critical thinking, etc. The term exams happen timely, as the date sheet is designed around 20–30 days in advance and generally, three papers are set up and one is selected for the examination. It is not difficult to pass the examination if students are attentive in their classes. Class Size: 75 Course Fee: INR 109000 per year.

USTM Meghalaya is the best college.

Placements: College does not give many jobs because the demand for sociology in the industry is low. Students go for different careers: some work with the government for policy-making, some become teachers, counselors, and some do social research. If you get a job in the government, working hours and stress are less, and we get a good reputation in society with a good salary of 22 to 25 thousand. Some private firms offer a salary of 4.5 lakhs annual package. The college does good things by making us self-independent but does not play much of a role in securing jobs.

Infrastructure: University campus is very beautiful and green, with mostly pink and yellow flowers. The college is located in a hilly area. The sports ground is developing, but for now, there is no sports ground for playing. Our annual event, Managemia, is the best, featuring many sports like arm wrestling and weight lifting competitions. The classrooms are ICT-enabled digital classrooms. From the library, we can take books without any rent or charges. Hostel facilities are not up to the mark, though the rooms are clean with 24-hour electricity and free Wi-Fi (just for show). The main issue is the food in USTM hostel management. We have complained many times, but no action has been taken..

Faculty: Teachers of USTM are very friendly and take regular doubt sessions. The facilities are managed by students from this college who are old students themselves. The course is good, and the admission fee is 45k. We have subjects like Principles of Sociology, Sociology of North East India, Sociology of Education, Sociology of Gender, etc. We have 4 semesters: 5 subjects in the 1st semester, 5 compulsory subjects in the 2nd semester, and electives in the 3rd and 4th semesters. The exams are not very difficult, with easy written exams, but practicals are only for the 2nd year; there are no practicals for the 1st year.
