Placements: There are no placements for embedded systems. For internships, 4-5 companies visited for embedded batch. 5 out of 48 got internships. The highest stipend was Rs. 30,000 per month and lowest was Rs. 15,000 per month. Companies that visited for internship are NetApp, Delphi Automotives, Danfoss, Intel, etc.
Placements: Most of the people were placed in mass placement companies. It was the same with our seniors. There were limited number of core companies who would have employed around 200-300 of the 2000 students in the batch (these are approximate numbers only and does not take into account the number of students who opted out of placements.) Some of the major companies were NI, Tata, Hyundai, Microsoft, Schneider, Siemens, Honda, Maruti, etc. Core companies offered the role of a graduate engineer trainee. Th...
Placements: The placements for CSE branch is really good. A lot of big IT companies come here for campus placements. If you are not so good at the technical background, you may land a job in management stuff. The package goes as high as 25 lakhs per annum, but for only exceptional students.
Placements: Would enlist a few point for the training & placement activities at VIT, Vellore: 1. The T&P cell has a tie up with three training agencies, namely: Face, Smart, Ethnus. They have included aptitude training as a part of the course requirements. This is known as 'Soft Skills Training'. This starts right from year 1 till year 3. It essentially depends on the individual, how he makes use of these classes. They are pretty good and substantial for placements in VIT. The regular sessions, assignments...
Placements: The logic of internships doesn't exist in VIT. The placement office is not liable for your training. So it's basically on you to get it either through your contacts or applying yourself to various companies. Placements as described in the reports are 100% but you should also look at the quality of the placements. ECE as a branch doesn't attract many core companies. The batch of 2014 saw only few core profiles e.g. Cisco and Cadence. The majority of people got placed in IT companies as software...
Placements: The placement of our senior batch was almost good. Around 80 % of the seniors' batch students are placed in the seventh semester itself in mass companies like TCS, Cognizant etc. Only 10-15% were successful in getting a job in the core companies like L&T, Godrej etc. The highest salary offered was 7.5 lacs, the average around 5 lacs and the minimum was 3.5 lacs for our respective branch. Mass companies like TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Infosys and Wipro visited our college this year. Very few stu...
Placements: First of all, VIT is well known for its high placement records. It has received many titles for having the highest number of placements from a single university. I'm a third year student, so I'm very keen to know about my future and hence the placement. And this is what I've heard from my seniors and what VIT has told us. We're over with phase 1 of placement that took place from month of July to September. During this period, various CSE and IT companies came and almost complete CSE and IT bran...
College is just amazing. It provides great placements. The faculty is also good. The infrastructure is up to the mark. You will learn a lot. It follows CGPA grading system. It provides facilities like gym, swimming pool, etc. College is in Vellore and is located near Chennai airport. You will get great exposure after joining this college. You need not worry about the placements the college provides a 100% placement record.
Food- Food available is pretty decent as compared to other south Indian colleges. Worth for money- Mostly, the companies which come to the college are for Computer Science graduates due to location factor. If you are in some other branch, be well prepared to go into the IT industry (considering the fact that jobs in Mech/Civil are low paying). Intake- VIT is kind of a sub-city, with the number of students, increasing on a Y-O-Y basis, I would suggest you try for other colleges (IIT/NIT/BITS/PV...
Only the infrastructure is good, otherwise, placement wise and level of education wise, it is not at all up to the mark. There is only hype. Hundreds of mechanical engineering students are left with petty IT jobs in mass placements because no core company prefers it. The campus is only good for Computer Science students for them many consultancy firms and e- commerce based companies come for recruitment. For any other branches of engineering college is not worth considering at all. For Mechani...
The college has a nice infrastructure of labs and buildings, and a green environment. The placements are provided to everybody. You can explore a lot of activities, clubs, chapters and competitions. Best college if teaching doesn't matter to you. The college has a strength of more than 25000 students. One can get a good package from rupees 3.25 lakhs to around 25 lakhs per year from multi-national companies. Management is strict regarding rules and regulations of college and hostel.
The college and infrastructure are decent, but it has below par faculty. Some of the teachers teach with the exams in perspective rather than actually teaching the topics. The college has a nice atmosphere and decent facilities. Rules and regulations have become too restrictive and archaic. They give "Indian culture" as a reason for it.
I have done my graduation from VIT and for me, it’s like heaven on earth. I had my best time there. The infrastructure, the faculty, and the environment. All these factors are awesome in VIT. Once you are there you will fall in love with that place. The faculty members are awesome and they are very cooperative. If you have any problem, you can go to them and they are always ready to help. The placements are great. Good many companies visit the campus and give good packages to students, so eve...
The good thing about the college is the presence of good infrastructure, facilities, and placement opportunities. The bad thing is the lack of quality teaching, faculty members, and weird management rules. The worst part that I feel is the huge population. That leads to decrease in quality of education, unnecessary competition for everything (hostels, placement etc.). There are good placements, but given the huge population is mostly the mass IT recruiters that offer you. Core branches have ve...
Spread over 360 acres of area, VIT itself looks like a mini city. Though the college seems big enough, it’s overcrowded. The faculty is average and it has the best infrastructure for labs and hostels. Opportunities are always present for those who dwell in them. Placements are not that great. Though it claims 100% placement, half of them get placed in Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, and Cognizant. Very few companies offer dream jobs and most of them are for the CSE students. Food is good compared to ...
One of the behemoths of the private education sector, VIT is good, but not as good as what they project themselves as. With magazine ads and rankings, the perception of the university among prospective students is quite good, and kudos to the management for that. THE GOOD: - Good option for those not admitted to IITs/Top NITs with a reasonable quality of faculty and educational infrastructure (labs etc.) - 100% placement. - Decent co-curricular avenues for those genuinely interested (clubs, et...
The college houses competitive cross-section of more than 15000 students. There is a good mix of students from different parts of the country and abroad. Teachers have good knowledge and are supportive. College's infrastructure and classrooms are amazing. Students have a very healthy atmosphere to learn and interact here. Seniors are supportive and there is no kind of ragging done here. The placement cell at VIT in civil engineering is pathetic. Half of the batch remains unplaced. This bloc...
The campus is quite huge, three hundred and fifty acres. With lush green campus, you are sure with one thing that the temperature of the campus is going to remain 3-4 degrees less than the rest of the Vellore City. The education is good if you speak about the mechanical department. For all of us, the institute is using a Credit System, copied from US institutions. In that, we are allowed to choose which subjects do we study in which semester and under which faculty. Most of the compulsory subj...
This is one of the best private universities in south India. Life is good on the campus. Hostels are good but very strict. The faculty is just average and teaching is not all that good, but there is a supportive environment for interested students. Research and extra-curricular activities are very well supported. Everyone gets placed either in Accenture or Wipro, but core placements are average. It is very good for bachelors, and not at all recommended for Masters.
VIT has an awesome campus with a very average faculty. There is a lot of crowd which joins VIT every year, which is both good and bad. So if you are focused and dedicated, you'll be able to find the right set of group and progress like anything on your own. Every student definitely gets placed. If you are good in CS, you can expect a package of rupees 8-12 lakhs. If you are average, you can get about 6-8 lakhs. If you are below average you get around rupees 3.5 - 5lakhs. The campus is very beau...
