A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Programs at WBUAFS

Based on student reviews, here's what we found out about the placement cell:

* Availability of resources: Most students agree that the college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and smart classrooms, which supports the effectiveness of the placement cell.
* Industry connections: Unfortunately, none of the reviewed statements mentioned industry connections or partnerships that could aid in placements.

In summary, while the infrastructure seems to be adequate, there isn't sufficient evidence to suggest that the placement cell has strong ties with industries, which might impact its overall effectiveness. However, this assessment is limited to the available data and may vary depending on individual experiences.

Satisfied with college environment.
Placements: Every Year passouts either get government job if WBPSC has released vacancies for VO or they get into companies, start veterinary clinics, or apply to a vet clinic for job. Many of the students after graduation opt for post graduate and further do Ph.D. and establish themselves as professors or scientist in reputed institutions. Companies Like Amul, Venky group, Suguna foods, livestock feed companies, Drools, pharma companies like Himalayan, Mankind and many others hatcheries, poultry farms, Dairy farms hire veterinarians with BVSC and AH course or MVSC (Masters in Veterinary Science). -Veterinary officer or block veterinary officer is a Group A gazetted post one can apply for in the government during vacancies by WBPSC. -the highest package: 25+ LPA to the lowest package 4.8 LPA and if you own clinic in metro cities it can increase 8-9 fold depending on your performance. Placement is cell is not present but students can contact companies as they are introduce to them in their intern year. -100 percent students get internships and they goes to hatcheries poultry farms, zoo, another State Universities for some weeks, veterinary hospital, Haringhata farms, breeding station, NDRI and many more.
Infrastructure: 20 department are present throughout the BVSC and AH course all are well-equipped with outstanding Professors and technician assisting them. Classrooms are well furnished with smartboards and blackboards with air conditioned. Several buildings for different departments and years present. Wi-Fi present with good stability. Labs are heavily Equipped with instruments and every requirements. Central Library funded by ICAR with huge collection of books of foreign and Indian authors are very resourceful for students. For more information computers with internet also present. Wine, cattle farms with attached Mohanpur Veterinary Hospital present for treatment of animals and studying of students both. There are two Hostels :Sir SN BOSE HALL for 1st years students boys and APC ROY Hostel for 2nd to final year boys. For girls all year KADIMBINI hostel is present. Hostels with good furnitures, washrooms, playground and with above average food quality and relatively affordable. Each hostel has its own canteen for snacks. Mess bill is minimal hostel living feels taken at the beginning of session with other feels if student is a hosteller. Medical officer and medical facilities are always there on the campus. Events like football tournaments, cricket tournaments, inter hostel matches etc. And throughout the year there are several festival celebrations in the campus.
Faculty: -Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable and with great interaction making even tougher topics digestable for any students. -The curriculum is relevant but still students need exposure of outer world or industries to make themselves more proficient as a veterinary doctor. -If one is interested and studying in a planned manner and is up to date then things can go quite smoothly. BVSC and AH has a vast syllabus with knowledge about different animals and details to gain so one has to study sincerely. Practical are important. 3 internals (must pass in atleast two of them) with year end external and viva and practical.
Other: BVSC and AH is a highly respectable course. The diversity of the course fascinates me as everything you learn is new and interesting as you get to know more about animals, diseases, curve, management etc. The best thing is veterinary field is quite unsaturated still and a fast growing field and there are so many options to choose in the future. People are getting more pets day by day. Government and people are becoming far more careful about health of animals and all drugs are tested on animals before human which increase demand of a veterinarian. I would like people at the rural and suburban level to become more aware of this professions as there is confusion between quacks and veterinarians. Both are different. It is illegal and unethical to tears a suffering a animal without knowing the proper measure and treatment. Among student and guardians there should not be a comparison among BVSC and AH and MBBS as both are treatment of different species. Both are challenging and respectable in their own fields. Bengal Veterinary College is 125 years old and has a high reputation. Many types of university, caste and government scholarships are available. Campus is the most attractive and beautiful part as you will SEE in the photos uploaded. It is a huge and beautiful green campus with even a .

Best course for animal lovers.
Placements: As it is a professional course where you'll be a doctor, you'll not be unemployed. There are multiple job opportunities available like government job, private jobs, research, being a professor, practicing, etc. The majority of the students target government jobs as it is safe and secure where you'll be recruited as a veterinary officer. For private jobs, most prefer Amul, Red Cow, Shalimar and many more pharmaceutical companies. The last year of the course is a mandatory internship, where you'll get a government stipend of Rs 20,000.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are very good. Very clean and ambient environment. Projectors and other modern facilities are available. Laboratories are also there in every department. Maximun equipment is available. Regular practical classes were also conducted. A library facility is available inside the campus. Students can study there and blend books. Hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. The girls hostel rooms are very good. Sufficient light and fans are there. Rooms are quite big and clean, too. The food is above average in the mess.
Faculty: Very qualified and educated teachers are there in every department. They are very helpful to the students. The quality of the teachers is very good. Regular theory and practical classes occur. Exams are also being conducted regularly. Three internal and one final exam happen in one year. The course curriculum is relevant but some subjects are not as relevant as I thought. Exams are neither very difficult nor very easy. Regular study is necessary.
Other: I like the animal world and want to know more about it, so I chose this course. The best thing about this course is the animals. You'll learn about so many animals, their habits, diseases, treatments, etc. It's so beautiful to know these things. Being a doctor of animals, it's a very proud thing. Although I want some modifications to the course, like some education on topics that are not relevant to me,. The campus is very good. There is not much crowding on campus. The transport facility is very good. The market is very near the campus.

Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: Veterinary science is a highly diversified field that provides 100% recruitment, including in the private and government sectors. There is no fixed package. You can earn many lacs in a month through clinical practices and at least job security is there as a government job for a veterinary officer, starting at Rs. 65k + DA per month. Also, you can establish farms of various species, like poultry farms, goat farms, dairy farms, sheep farms, etc. Except in the government sector, recruiting companies are AMUL, many feed preparation companies, Shalimar Pvt. Ltd., pharmaceutical companies like Cipla, Mankind, Alembic, Haringhata Mean plant and many more. All the students, after completing their 4th professional year, undergo a 1-year compulsory internship in many centers in that state and other states. This course offers specialization in various fields, including veterinary surgery, medicine, pharmacology, public health, animal nutritionists, animal breeders, researchers, scientists, professors, entrepreneurs, farm manager and many more. Thank you.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure provided by the university were good. Smart classes are available for better understanding. Well-equipped labs are there. Central library, from which you may procure books for a considerable period of time. You may study there as long as you can in a pindrop-silent environment. Hostel facilities are better; all the instruments for study are there and the necessities for storming are there. Foods are tasty and good. For medical facilities, there is a medical unit on campus you may visit for any problems. Sports are periodically held, e.g., inter-year football tournament, cricket, volleyball, running competitions, indoor games, cricket hostel tournaments, etc.
Faculty: There is a fantastic teaching quality. Teachers are qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. The curriculum is relevant. The syllabus is designed by the Veterinary Council of India as per MSVE-16. Moderately difficult exams are conducted. More than 75% of students pass the exam.
Other: Diversity in this field is something I love.

Absolutely a very good course; the campus can be improved; no issues with placement.
Placements: This is a professional course and you'll also be a doctor, so there is no option of being unemployed. Multiple career options are available after graduation. You can opt for a veterinary officer, which is a government job; you can opt for any private company that recruits veterinary doctors; or you can opt for practice. Also, you can go for higher studies and become a professor or scientist.
Infrastructure: Classroom infrastructure is good. But the hostel is not so good. The authority is very reluctant for any hostel-related problem. Any problem takes so much time to solve. Very pathetic. Food is available in the mess. One canteen is also there. Medical facilities are available like doctor, ambulance, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, helpful and qualified here. They teach very well in the classroom. You can ask any question in and outside the classroom. As of now, the semester exam system is not running in our course. Three internal and one external exam happen every year. Exam difficulty is standard; it's not so difficult that you can't pass. If you read and attended the class carefully, you can pass easily.
Other: This is an extraordinary course. You can learn about so many animals, their behaviour, diseases, treatments, how to handle them, etc. One who has an interest in animals will love the course. Various scholarships are there that you can get. Many sports tournaments are organized on campus. Connectivity is very good as it is situated in Kolkata.

It is a nice profession, and the placements are satisfactory.
Placements: The college placements are good enough. This year, the highest package offered is about 9 LPA. Many companies like Amul, Shalimar, etc., come for campusing. 50 to 60 students got internships from this course for a year duration, and after that, they got BVSC and AH degree.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure with a huge library, good canteen, and medical facilities. A playground is available, and the teaching quality is awesome. Students clear our doubts. Practicals are very helpful in future, and the laboratories are good.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, but they are very strict during exams. There are three internal examinations, and the pass marks are 50%, and after the third internal, there is a month gap for external examinations.
Other: Veterinary is a nobel profession, so I chose it.
