A Roller Coaster Ride: My Experience at GLBGI Mathura

2 mins readUpdated on Dec 20, 2024 10:47 IST

After I passed my Class 12, I appeared for the JEE Main exam, in which I did not get a good rank.

Then, I went away to be counselled for JEE Main, and in November, I got admitted at GL Bajaj Group of Institutions, Mathura. That is when my B.Tech journey started at this institute.

The Experience

My first year at GLBGI Mathura didn’t go very well. The second year was average, both in terms of social and academic experiences. Some teachers here are very good, but some are also less experienced. Eventually, my third year was already over, but now I was beginning to think of how to continue into the fourth year. Our placements were scheduled to begin in the same year. From 4th year onwards, I stopped living in the hostel and started to stay in another place in the city.

Preparing for Placements

I started preparations for the allocation in the 4th  year of college only. I participated in the allocation meetings, and in doing so, came the encounter selection and interviewing process. The placements are still ongoing. What I am hoping for is to be offered a job by a big organisation, in which I can gain new knowledge. It is impossible for all of this learning to be accomplished without going to a professional college. There is a lot I have learned during my time at this institute, and I am sure it will all come to be very useful for the rest of my life.

A:

GLBGI is actually a decent institute and is quite famous compared to other institutes in Uttar Pradesh. It is economical and the fee for 4 years of B.Tech in this college is approximately 3.4 lakhs. Alongside this, the placement of this college is promising and can be relied upon. The college has all the basic facilities and is approved by AICTE. The quality of students can be of concern as the minimum eligibility to join this college is quite basic. Also, the college does not organize a lot of events so campus life is below average. But overall GL Bajaj Group of Institutions - GLBGI is a pretty good option.

Looking back at My Experience

Although I am stationed in the university library among the books and notes, unconsciously, I am drawn back to the origin of my existence at present. Four years ago, as an impressionable Engineering freshman, I stood at the edge of the Engineering ravine of ‘Applications’.

Finally, as a B.Tech final year student, I can say with certainty, the past four years have been an absolute roller coaster ride. My college years have been nothing short of a blur of activities, from sleep deprivation to completing assignments, from ‘Hackathons’ to ‘Techfests’. Here, I have made lifelong friends, learned from the best mentors and discovered my passion within the world of Artificial Intelligence. At this moment, I am about to “step into the real world", due to which, there is a strange combination of excitement and terror. On the other hand, now is the time for me to come out of my comfort zone. I am not afraid of the challenges and it’s my goal to make a footprint in the tech world.
