Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) admit card is available online. The link to download the admit card is made available on the university's official website. It may also be provided to the students in offline mode. Earlier, the BHU in-house entrance exam was conducted for admissions. However, now admission to most of the UG and PG courses is through CUET-UG/CUET-PG. Thus, candidates have to download these exams admit cards from their respective official websites.

How to download the BHU Admit Card?

In order to download a BHU hall ticket, candidates have to visit its official website and look for a prompt to download the entry ticket. The link can be different for different courses or the type of exam (theory/practical). For a practical admit card, candidates have to enter their roll numbers in order to download the admit card. Furthermore, the steps to download the BHU CUET admit card are mentioned below:

Q:   Does BHU accept CUET for BSc (Hons) admission?

A:

Yes, to apply for BHU BSc (Hons) course, candidates need to register online for CUET-UG. From 2022, the BHU-UET exam is replaced with this exam. Based on the merit of candidates' performance in the entrance exam, candidates are then required to register separately for the counselling round. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted CUET-UG entrance test from May 21 to Jun 23 and the result was declared on Jul 15.

Q:   Does BHU accept admission through CUET?

A:

Yes, Banaras Hindu University is accepting CUET score for multiple UG courses, including BA (Hons), BCom (Hons) BSc (Hons), etc. The university is also offering admission to its PG courses based on merit in CUET-PG. Aspirants who meet the eligibility requirements can register on the BHU admission portal for counselling. The admission is done in order of merit based on the normalised score of the CUET (PG) and reservation policy as per the provisions laid down in the BHU PET Information Brochure.

Q:   Does BHU accept JEE Mains?

A:

No, Banaras Hindu University does not accept JEE Main scores for admission to BTech courses. As per the official brochure released by the University, BHU accepts CUET-UG entrance exam scores for BTech admission for the academic year 2025. Candidates with valid CUET-UG scores are then required to appear for a counselling process. 

Step 1: Go to the NTA official website and click on CUET UG/CUET PG website (For CUET PG - https://cuet.nta.nic.in/ AND For CUET UG -  https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/).

Step 2: Register by entering a few basic details and creating login credentials.

Step 3: Then two options are given to log in either through the Application number and Password or through the Application number and date of birth. Select as per convenience.

Step 4: Fill in the details as per the option selected in the prior menu. Then enter the security pin and click on sign-in.

Step 5: Further, go to the admit card section and download it.

What if there is a discrepancy in the BHU CUET Admit Card 2024?

In case there is any discrepancy in the CUET admit card, candidates should immediately report it to the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates can reach out to the agency through their helpline between 10 am and 5 pm. To give candidates some relaxation, the students are allowed inside the exam hall in such a case. However, action to make the corrections is proceeded later on.

For admission to BHU BSc, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirement. It is also crucial that the students hold the relevant documents. The course-wise eligibility criteria is further mentioned in the table given below:

-Age: Not to be more than 22 years on 1st July 2023 (applicant should be born on or after 2nd July of 2001)

BSc (Hons) Agriculture/ BSc (Hons) Ag. at RGSC campus (Under Special Course of Study)

Class 12 in Agriculture or in Science (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology) or any equivalent examination recognised by the University, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate

-Age: Not to be less than 16 years and not more than 25 years as of 1st July 2023 (applicant should be born on or after 2nd July 1998 and on or before 2nd July 2007)

Q:   Does BHU accept CUET for BCom (Hons) admission?

A:

Yes, candidates seeking admission to BCom (Hons) courses need to appear for the CUET-UG entrance test. Based on the entrance test scores, BHU will conduct a counselling round. BHU is currently accepting applications for BHU BCom (Hons) admission 2023, interested candidates must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to apply for the CUET-UG entrance exam.

Q:   Can a one-year dropper student get admission into BHU?

A:

Banaras Hindu University course admissions is entrance-based for most of the programmes. Thus, one-year dropper student can apply for the desired course, however, qualifying the respective entrance is the a must. Apart from this, aspirant should meet the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements as well. 

Moreover, the student can be asked to submit an application regarding the reason for drop out. Sometimes even this is not required. 

Q:   Can I join BHU without CUET?

A:

Yes, Banaras Hindu University accepts CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to BA (Hons) course. Earlier, admission to the UG course was through BHU UET. Moreover, only the candidates who have valid CUET-UG scores become eligible to register for the counselling round. The CUET application process is carried out in online mode (cuet.samarth.ac.in). Further, NTA conducts CUET-UG 2024 entrance test. The exam is scheduled between May 15 and May 31.

Q:   Do I have to take an entrance exam to pursue a PhD in English Literature from BHU?

A:
BHU offers Ph.D. courses in different subjects like Bengali, English Hindi Sanskrit, Mathematics etc. To be eligible for these courses, candidates need to have scored at least 55% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in the relevant subject at postgraduate level. Bhu conducts its entrance exam I. e BHU RET to select students for their Ph.D. courses. The selection of the student is based on the merit obtained in the BHU RET.

BHU Admit Card 2024: Exam Day Instructions

Some of the instructions or guidelines that the candidates should follow on the exam day are:

  • Take a few copies of the coloured printout of the admit card
  • Check all the details on the admit card. There should not be any discrepancy in the entry ticket on the exam day.
  • Affix the passport-size photograph in the space provided on the admit card.
  • Candidates should also carry one of the valid identity proofs such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, Passport
  • Candidates should reach the exam centre before the scheduled time.
  • Candidates are advised to carry a black/blue ball pen to fill the OMR sheet.

A. No, the admit card hardcopy has to be presented on the exam day. The exam conducting body does not allow candidates to carry electronics inside the exam hall.
