Chandigarh University is ranked 13 by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2024 under the Architecture category. For the categories such as University and Engineering, the university has been ranked 20 and 32, respectively.

Chandigarh University is ranked nationally and internationally by various ranking bodies. It is one of the top private colleges in India. As per QS World Rankings 2024, CU ranks 1st among other private colleges in the country. In addition, in the overall university category, it ranks in the 771-780 band,  20th in Southern Asia, and 149 in Asia. In 2023, the university was 45th in the overall category. It also received a ranking by the NIRF in different categories, including Engineering, Management, Architecture, etc.

As per the QS World Rankings 2024, Chandigarh University has secured the 149th spot. Its ranking has significantly improved in comparison to the past two years. Chandigarh Univesity has been awarded an excellent rating of ‘A+’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has a CGPA of 3.28, which makes it one of the top 5% institutes in India. The university has also made its place among India’s reputed Higher Educational Institutions (HEI).

India Today has ranked Chandigarh University 12th among the private universities in the country in its 2023 rankings. The ranking is given after evaluation of the universities' over 120 attributes. Moreover, the university has secured a spot in other categories as well such as 35th in Engineering (private university),  65th in Engineering, and 27th in Hotel Management. Its ranking has improved in some categories and remained the same for some (Engineering, University (Private), Hotel Management) as well.
