Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has been founded with the goal of delivering exceptional, world-class university education. It is always in the search for and introducing new potential to improve the efficiency of higher education. Having students from all over the world, the campus provides a global atmosphere. VIT campus in Vellore is spread across 327 acres of area. Every building at the institution has been provided with fully furnished and well-equipped labs. Furthermore, the campus is well-equipped to host a variety of events, including auditoriums, large open areas, outdoor stages, etc.

Facilities Available for Studies
Laboratories and IT department: With a very high-speed, strong network backbone, IT infrastructure has been broadly distributed throughout all the buildings. Their computer network is currently based on a CISCO switching platform with a 10 Gig backbone. This rapid network connects over 12,000 IP-enabled devices. Considering the need for academics and students for using digital media in their study, learning, and education, three major Internet Service Providers have made 10 Gbps of internet bandwidth available.

Library: The Central Library has seven floors and covers an area of 7,770 square metres. It contains 2,41,797 specialised collections of books, 412 journals, and other resources in the areas of Mathematics & Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Management-related printed books, 3,64,453 e-books, 18,350 back volumes, and 15,650 CDs & DVDs. The Central Library has print and electronic subscriptions to 330 national and 82 international journals. The library has a video conferencing system as well as NPTEL video courses, ePGpathashala, Swayam Program, and other government-sponsored E-Learning resources.
Classrooms: The smart classrooms are well designed to provide all the required facilities for a comfortable learning environment. A whiteboard and a projector are utilised for teaching in large, wide classrooms. As an outcome, teachers can move between multiple forms of instruction as needed, ensuring that the lectures are delivered in the most effective manner feasible. The faculty may utilise this high-tech equipment to deliver lessons in such a way that students can access every accessible resource at a simple tap.
Co-curricular Facilities
Playgrounds and Indoor Game Facilities:
VIT promotes the importance of sports and considers them to be an important element of the curriculum. VIT provides a number of physical education and sports activity centres that assist students in staying healthy and developing a competitive attitude. It covers a 20-acre area with various outdoor playgrounds and indoor courts.
Auditorium: A wide range of professional meeting facilities have been thoughtfully developed and fitted into the VIT campus with four auditoriums in consideration. 'Anna Audi,' as it is known among students, has been developed with centralised air conditioning, Wi-Fi connectivity, a stunning stage, green rooms, and seating arrangement to accommodate 1,800 students and cover an area of 15,436 sq. feet. Various events and conferences are held in this auditorium.

- Dr Ambedkar Auditorium with a seating capacity of 198 persons.
- Kamaraj Auditorium with a seating capacity of 128 persons.
- Multi-purpose hall located at Gandhi block with a seating capacity of 462 persons.
Hostel Facilities: The hostels at VIT seem to be more than four walls and a roof. They are a home away from home. Hostels have been created to provide a pleasant, safe, diverse and secure living environment, while also allowing students to build lifelong connections and smoothening the transition from school to college. Residential staff is always available to help students from all backgrounds in order to encourage a sense of community. There are 24 hostels on the Vellore campus of VIT. Boys' hostels consist of 18 blocks, while girls' hostels consist of six blocks. The blocks accommodate a total of about 22,000 students each year. Some of the facilities available are AC and non-AC rooms with accommodation capacities ranging from one to six people. Residential consultants, wardens, supervisors, maintenance workers, and security guards are available 24 hours a day. Water and power supplies are available 24 hours a day.
Mess Facilities: VIT is fortunate to have three fully equipped multi-cuisine mess facilities located in three key places across the campus. Two messes are located at the institution's extreme corners, one between the G D Naidu Block and the Silver Jubilee Tower, and the other one in the centre, near the Technology Tower. All three messes are operated under contract with outside caterers and offer high-quality cuisine at student-friendly costs.
