S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal founded Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) as its President in 2001 at Landran. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal has dedicated his career to the advancement of education and the empowerment of students. 

1. What inspired you to start CGC Jhanjeri, and what is the mission of the institution?

As the President of CGC Jhanjeri, I am delighted to have the opportunity to share the inspiring story behind the establishment of our esteemed institution and shed light on our mission.

The journey of CGC Jhanjeri began with a profound vision to create an educational institution that would not only provide quality education but also foster holistic development and empower students to become confident, responsible, and ethical individuals.

Collective knowledge and experience of our founding members served as the impetus for the establishment of CGC Jhanjeri since they understood the need for a facility that could bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and real-world application. Our goal was to build a school that would nurture children' intrinsic abilities while preparing them to succeed in a dynamic and competitive global environment.

The CGC Jhanjeri has a broad range of objectives. First and foremost, we work to create a supportive environment that fosters critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and innovation

Second, we are dedicated to provide industry-aligned programmes that equip students with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace. We work together with organisations, experts, and leaders in the field to develop curriculum and build practical training, internships, and real-world experiences into our programmes. 

Thirdly, we provide character development and education with a significant emphasis. We think it's important to develop students' social responsibility, leadership, and ethical principles. 

Finally, we are committed to create a lively campus community that supports holistic growth. We provide a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities, sports, cultural events, clubs, and societies that let students explore their passions, improve their social skills, and create a well-rounded personality.

2. How does CGC Jhanjeri support the community and give back through outreach or service initiatives?

We at CGC Jhanjeri believe in the importance of being a responsible corporate citizen and actively engaging with the society we serve. We understand that financial constraints can be a barrier to education. Therefore, we offer Josh scholarship to deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.100% scholarship is provided to the students.  By providing financial support, we aim to make quality education accessible to a wider range of individuals.CGC Jhanjeri actively participates in community development programs to address local needs and uplift the community.We organize skill development workshops and training programs to enhance the employability and entrepreneurial capabilities of individuals in the community. These workshops cover a range of subjects, including computer literacy, digital skills, and vocational training, equipping participants with valuable skills for career advancement.We forge partnerships with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and social organizations to collectively address social issues and contribute to the community's well-being. Through joint initiatives, we work together to create awareness, raise funds, and provide resources to tackle challenges like poverty, gender inequality, environmental sustainability, and healthcare.CGC Jhanjeri facilitates internships and industry collaborations for our students, providing them with real-world experience and exposure to diverse professional environments. CGC Josh is a Scholarship Test that gives financial assistance to students wishing to pursue Engineering, Management, Commerce, Law, Computer Application, Journalism & Sciences courses at CGC Jhanjeri.

The scholarships offered through CGC JOSH (Jhanjeri Open Scholarship for Higher Education) align perfectly with the overall mission and values of CGC Jhanjeri. I strongly believe in providing equal opportunities for all students and ensuring that financial constraints should not hinder their pursuit of education. JOSH is a 100%scholarship exam.CGC Jhanjeri has initiated with a scholarship of 5 CR to 400+ Students in 2021 then reached 7 CR to 1100+ students in 2022 and touched 10 CR.CGC JOSH exemplifies our commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and empowering students to achieve their educational goals.CGC JOSH scholarships make quality education accessible to a wider range of students. By providing financial assistance, we ensure that deserving and talented students, regardless of their financial background, can pursue their education at CGC Jhanjeri. 2. Internship and Training Programs: CGC Jhanjeri offers various internship and training programs to help students gain practical experience and develop industry-specific skills. 
3. Soft Skills Development: Our institution conducts various programs and workshops aimed at developing soft skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.

5. Entrepreneurship Development:  The entrepreneurship development cell offers mentoring, training, and networking opportunities to students who are interested in entrepreneurship.

Overall, CGC Jhanjeri has a comprehensive approach to support the personal and professional development of its students, which includes both academic and non-academic initiatives.There are placement cell, career counseling cell and DSW cell.As students are now a days suffering from mentle pressure and dispression, a psychiatrist has been appointed to counsil the students. 

7. Can you tell us about any recent achievements or notable successes of CGC Jhanjeri and its students or faculty?

Being a prestigious institution, CGC Jhanjeri receives many awards and achievements. Talking about the recent achievement, the biggest achievement was NAAC A+ Accreditation. 

CGC Jhanjeri has been awarded the prestigious NAAC A+ accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the first cycle with a CGPA of 3.46/4.0.

On the occasion of the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence BRANDS WIN India presented Indian Education Excellence Awards-2022 in recognition of the significant contribution made by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Jhanjeri, Mohali (Punjab) for Best Placements amongst Higher Education Institutes Of Punjab 2022. CGC-J recorded its highest placement record by offering 8500 placement offers by 800 companies for placement in the 2021-22 session. 

We received an award for Iconic Leadership 2022 in Best Campus Placement from the chief guest Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab.

At CGC Jhanjeri, we believe in being united and follow the golden rule of universal brotherhood as we have students from all the states of India and also from some foreign country. It becomes our foremost duty to provide them a friendly atmosphere.
