DASA UG Cutoff 2025: Check Previous Year Opening & Closing Rank

The minimum mark that a candidate is required to secure to qualify for admission is the DASA Cutoff. The full form of DASA is Direct Admission of Students Abroad. It is an initiative commenced by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. It provides admission to Persons of Indian Origin living abroad (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf countries (CIWG), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) in the UG and PG programmes in the fields of Engineering, Architecture, Planning, etc. This year, the MoE has entrusted the coordination of the admission process under the DASA scheme to the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC).

The registration fee is non-refundable. Refunds of tuition fees will be regulated as follows:
1. The full tuition fee will be refunded in the following cases:
Applicants who withdraw their application on or before the last date of the fee payment as mentioned in the schedule on the DASA website or applicants who are not allotted any seats as per their choices, or applicants who are found not eligible at the time of processing the application.
2. 50% of the tuition fee will be refunded in the following cases:
Applicants who are allotted any seat as per their choices, and do not accept the allotment by choosing the "Decline" option.
3. No tuition fee is refunded in the following cases:
Applicants who accept the seat allotted and later change their decision, by not joining, applicants who have been provided provisional admission and rejected for not submitting required documents or applicants who withdraw their admissions after joining the Institutions for any reason or could not submit academic or other documents in time, or applicants who are allotted a seat in the special round.

The institutes like NITs, IIITs, SPAs and other Centrally Funded & Premier Technical Institutes admit candidates through DASA UG scheme.

The cutoff marks of DASA depend upon various factors, which are responsible for determining the DASA 2024 cutoff, namely:

• Level of the exam
• Number of the applicant
• Total seats available
• Marks secured by the aspirants

15% of seats are under the supernumerary quota of DASA, out of which 5% supernumerary seats are reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf (CIWG). Candidates who will get admission to NITs and IIEST Shibpur under the CIWG category shall pay the tuition fee of INR 1,25,000 per annum, either in INR or equivalent USD. 

The DASA Quota means a particular number of seats at India's top engineering colleges for NRI, PIO, OCI, and foreign students. 15% of the institute's total seats are allocated to the DASA quota. As we know, the DASA scheme offers a chance for non-resident Indians and foreign nationals to gain admission to India's top technical institutes.

A candidate can check the DASA scores on the official website, dasanit.org. The DASA cutoff is released post completion of the counselling rounds. In the cutoff list, the candidate will be able to check the opening and closing ranks of the different rounds.
