DASA 2025 Dates: The DASA UG 2024 conducting NIT will declare the schedule of Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) 2025 on the official website, dasanit.org. The DASA UG counselling dates will be out after the JEE Main 2025 final session exam. DASA 2025 registration is expected to begin in June 2025 for foreign candidates with JEE Main ranks. Note that, DASA counselling is held for foreign nationals studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad. Indian candidates who will have to register for JoSAA counselling 2025. Admission will be granted to 15% of the total seats in UG engineering and architecture courses offered at NITs, IIITs, SPAs and CFTIs.
The DASA counselling process includes registration with JEE Main application number and date of birth, choice filling, declaration of DASA rank based on JEE Main rank, seat allotment, seat acceptance and reporting to the allotted institute. There will be four rounds of DASA UG counselling 2025, one special round and a spot round (if seats are vacant). Q: When will the online DASA UG registration start?
The DASA UG 2025 registration will start tentatively in the second week of June 2025. The DASA UG application form will be released online on the official website at dasanit.org. It is to be noted that the DASA UG application form will not be sent to the candidates via email, post, etc. It is also recommended that before filling the DASA UG application form 2025, candidates must go through the information brochure carefully. Candidates should fill out the correct details in the application form; otherwise, it will be rejected.
Q: Who can apply for DASA UG?
Candidates who will qualify for JEE Main 2025 can only apply for DASA UG 2025. That is, candidates who are willing to get admission via DASA can register themselves on the official website of DASA, dasanit.org. The DASA UG 2025 admission will be based on the JEE Main ranks of the Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)/Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Admisison will be made againts the 15% of seats in NITs, IIITs, and other technical institutes for NRI/PIO/OCI/foreign national students. Of these seats, 5% are reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf (CIWG).

The Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme is managed by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and provides a pathway for admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPAs), and other premier technical institutions in India. Foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) seeking admission through this scheme are required to participate in the DASA online counselling process. This process is conducted in multiple rounds, during which seats are allocated based on the candidates' JEE Main ranks and the preferences they have indicated.
Q: When will the DASA UG Brochure (Information Bulletin) be released?
The DASA UG Brochure 2025 (information bulletin) will be released or uploaded after the JEE Mains 2025 Session 2 exam. Candidates can download the DASA UG brochure and check all the details related to the DASA admission and application process. Candidates seeking admission under the DASA scheme have to register online, fill out an online application form, and make a fee payment. Candidates who register will only be considered for admission under the DASA scheme.
DASA 2025 Registration Date
The online registration for DASA UG 2025 is made available after the final phase of the JEE Main exam is over. DASA UG application form is released online only on the official website, dasanit.org. The candidate needs to check the DASA UG 2025 eligibility criteria before applying. All foreign nationals studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad and want to be admitted to Undergraduate programmes in Engineering/Architecture/ Planning for the Academic offered by the NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other premier Technical Institutions in India have to apply for DASA. Prescribed admission criteria for Indian Nationals shall be at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last 8 years and must pass the qualifying examination from abroad. JEE Main 2025 rank is a must to apply for DASA. To fill DASA UG 2025 application form, candidates have to register with the JEE Main 2025 application number and date of birth.
Q: How many seats are reserved for the Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWG) in DASA UG?
15% of seats are under the supernumerary quota of DASA, out of which 5% supernumerary seats are reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf (CIWG). Candidates who will get admission to NITs and IIEST Shibpur under the CIWG category shall pay the tuition fee of INR 1,25,000 per annum, either in INR or equivalent USD.

DASA UG 2025 Choice Filling Dates
All eligible and registered candidates have to fill in their choices of courses and institutes available based on their JEE Main ranks during the DASA 2025 counselling. Candidates MUST “submit” their saved choices. Candidates who do NOT submit their saved choices in the time window given, their last saved choices will be submitted automatically when the time window for filling- in choices ends. Candidates must fill in and submit as many choices as they want in order of their preference.

Q: When will the DASA rank be declared?
The rank will be tentatively declared in July 2025 for DASA UG 2025 on the official website at dasanit.org. It will be declared on the basis of JEE Main scores. Further, the office of DASA declared the DASA rank (based on the JEE Main rank declared by NTA) for only those students who have filled out and submitted their online registration form for DASA-2025.
Q: What is the minimum marks required in Class 12 to apply for DASA UG?
To apply for DASA UG, applicant should have completed Mathematics, Physics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Biology) in 12th with 75% marks (CGPA of 7.5 out of 10) in aggregate, as applicable in the respective boards.
DASA UG Seat Allotment Dates 2025
DASA UG 2025 seats allotment is done in various rounds - four main rounds and one special round. The candidates are allotted seats based on their JEE Main ranks. After each round of seat allotment candidates have to accept the allotted seats. If seats are allotted, candidates can:
- Accept (Directly report to the admitting Institute as per schedule. He/ she can’t participate in the DASA special round. However, will be automatically considered for Internal Sliding after the FINAL allotment round).
- Accept & Upgrade (Will participate in next rounds and considered for higher choices, but can’t participate in DASA special round)
- Decline: The candidate is exited from the whole counselling process including the special round. The tuition fee will be refunded (after making deductions) as per the refund rule.
DASA 2025 Special Round Counselling Dates
The new seat matrix will be displayed on the DASA website after internal sliding. The vacant seats available will be allotted in the DASA 2025 special round. The Candidates who are already registered but did not get any allotment till now are eligible for the choice refilling for special rounds against vacant seats. In this round, applicants must submit new choices, and any choices submitted before the first round will be cleared. Applicants who have declined their allotments or withdrawn/cancelled their applications at any stage are ineligible for the DASA 2025 special round.
