Q:   Can I get VNIT Nagpur with 97 percentile?

A:

VNIT Nagpur BTech admission is based on JEE Main scores, and the cutoff varies every year. As per VNIT Nagpur cutoff 2023, the last round closing cutoff for BTech course was ranged 832 and 58063 for general category candidates, among which CSE was the most competitive specialisation. To increase your chances of getting admitted to VNIT Nagpur, you may want to consider the following strategies:

  1. Improve your JEE Main score: Focus on preparing well for JEE Main, and attempt as many mock tests as possible to improve your score.
  2. Apply for other colleges: Consider applying to other NITs, IIITs, and other engineering colleges that have a lower cutoff than VNIT Nagpur.
  3. Prepare for other entrance exams: In case you don't get admitted to VNIT Nagpur, you can prepare for other entrance exams like WBJEE, UPSEE, and others to increase your chances of getting admitted to other colleges.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: We have a training and placement cell at our institute. Placements are good for both the core and IT sectors. The highest package here was 64 LPA for the previous year, and it almost remains the same every year. The average package was 10 LPA, which is good. In our course, 72% of students got placed last year. In the Computer Science branch, the placements are almost 100%. Some of the top recruiters are ITC, Reliance, JSW, ExxonMobil, HUL, etc. (for Chemical Engineering). Very few students get paid internships in our college. However, more students got unpaid internships at ONGC, IOCL, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the department is great. There is a smart classroom for guest lectures. Each floor in the department has Wi-Fi, and the labs are well-equipped. We also have a very large common library, which has all the important books required for the course. The institute also has a big sports complex with a cricket ground, football ground, etc. It also has a yoga hall. We have a large auditorium with a capacity of 5000 people at a time. An open-air theatre is also available. The institute also has a swimming pool and life skill training camps.
Faculty: The faculty is well-qualified here. Most of them have completed M.Tech from IITs and Ph.D. from foreign universities. They are also working on some very good research projects like Molecular Simulations, Lithium-Ion Batteries, etc. In Chemical Engineering, there are immense opportunities, especially in Middle Eastern countries. In India, we also have some public sector companies that offer packages of 20-25 LPA to freshers. The midterms are easy, and the end terms are average to tough. There is relative grading, and you will need 30-40 marks in a subject to pass (combining midterm, end term, and internals).
Other: Overall, the campus life is great here. There are a total of 32 clubs for different hobbies like the music club (Octaves), literature club (Mag. Com), dramatics club (Hall Bol), art club (Iridescence), dance club (Grooves), social service club (Prayas), and many more. There are 3 fests organized in the college: AAROHI (cultural fest) in November, AXIS (technical fest) in March, and the literature fest (Karwaan) in April. AXIS is also known to be Central India's largest technical fest. Many important celebrities, like Psycho Shayar, Sachet Parampara, Professor Nambi Narayan, and Professor HC Verma, have been guests in these fests.

Good facility and faculty.
Placements: Around 60% of students get placements in their third year. The highest package offered is 64 LPA, while the lowest is 4 LPA. Top companies provide great opportunities for students. Many students also participate in internships every year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure on campus is very good. The hostel is well-maintained, and proper food is provided. There is good Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and decent classrooms. Basic needs are taken care of, and the college also provides free medical services.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and provide good teaching. However, beginners may face some difficulties with the course curriculum. Semester exams are a bit tough but manageable. The passing percentage is about 70%.

It is really a bad decision to take admission here. Faculty are the worst, not cooperative.
Placements: My batch is not passed out yet. Once it is done, I will update soon. But previous batch. Placement was not satisfactory. It's really hard to score an 8 CGPA. The highest package was around 27 Lacs, and the percentage of placed students is really very low. Thank you.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities like LAN, library, smart classroom, laboratories, and many more. Our hostel is luxurious; we have been provided a 24-hour LAN. Water facility and cleanliness. The quality of food available in the mess is really bad. It is not tasty at all. It contains a lot of oil and vegetables with low prices.
Faculty: Faculty is really the worst. They don't teach well. They just complete their given period and take their salary. Its really shameful. Semester exams are very difficult and don't score at all. This college doesn't help students for industrial purposes. There is damaged equipment in labs. And no one gives information about our practical.
Other: The best things about this course is that it has Many fields. Teaching can be improved, but they don't try at all. There are various types of events happening. Ganpati, Holi, Navratri, institute gathering, department gathering, inter-not competition, etc. are organized.

100% Placement for CSE Department Students in 2023, the Highest Package Was 64 LPA.
Placements: About 64.56% students were placed in the year 2024. The highest package in the Civil department in the year 2024 was 18 LPA, the lowest was 6 LPA, and the average was 6.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies were L&T, Vedanta, Afcons, NMRC, Bajaj Steel, etc. Top roles were Junior Architect, Trainee Engineer, Procurement Executive, Trainee Faculty, GTE/PTE.
Infrastructure: There are good facilities in the classroom and the library. Wi-Fi speed is good, and labs are equipped with the latest instruments. Hostel rooms are also spacious, have Ethernet speed up to 800 Mbps, and food quality is very good, with very little oil and spices used. VNIT has its own health center near the boys' hostel, and doctors are available every day. Emergency services and an ambulance are available 24/7.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified from prestigious institutions like IIT Madras, etc. Every class has teachers from their own department as well. Semester exams are a little tougher than other private institutes to maintain the level of the institute.
Other: Civil engineering is related to real-life fieldwork, which creates an interest in me for studying it more and more. The only thing I want to remove is the restrictions from the dean, directors on the events.

There will be more games facilities provided by the college.
Placements: The placements are good in NIT Nagpur. There will be visiting companies for civil engineering like L&T, Tata Projects, and some public sector firms. The highest package is 34 Lacs per annum for civil engineering, and the average package is 8 Lacs per annum. The placement percentage is 85.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms will be good, but we need to adjust to the hostel mess. The hostel mess will be the same as in all colleges. Snacks will be provided in the evening, and the hostel cost is around 64 thousand per year. The college fees are around 1 Lakh sixty thousand per year.
Faculty: The faculty will be good in NIT Nagpur because it is in the top 10 list of national institutes of technology. The exams will be conducted twice per year. If you prepare before the exam, you might not be able to write the exam properly as the questions will be moderate to tough.

The college is more academic-oriented than extracurricular activities.
Placements: From the past two to three years of recession, the placements everywhere decreased gradually but since this year, the placements at VNIT Nagpur College are slightly getting better and better as compared to past years. The placement percentage of students is, however, less but the average package is good.
Infrastructure: For the sports, I will give all the ratings to VNIT Nagpur as it has the best sports facilities among many NITs but for the other infrastructure, it is slightly worse, as classrooms do not contain ACs. Mess is not good at all. Mainly for boys hostels due to not maintaining proper hygiene. The medical facility has good ambulances available for 24 hours.
Faculty: Honestly speaking, this college has a little old curriculum and it is a bit hectic for student's lives. Teachers are highly qualified and their teaching quality is like average to good. Exams are not very difficult if someone is studying a little bit daily. There are also some students who resumed their studies a year or more ago.
Other: This college has not too good campus life compared to other NITs, as it has a more academic-oriented college but it contains some big festivals like Aarohi. Connectivity is good as it is in the main Nagpur city.
