Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, also known as MHT CET, is a state-level entrance test to select candidates for admission to undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programs at various colleges throughout Maharashtra. The exam is conducted every year by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. The difficulty level of MHT CET 2025 exam will be similar to JEE Mains.

The MHT CET 2025 examination will have 3 sections/papers of 100 marks each, Paper 1 of Mathematics; Paper 2 of Physics and Chemistry combined, and Paper 3 of Biology. Candidates willing to join the Engineering course should appear for Papers 1 and 2. Aspirants of Pharmacy courses should appear for Papers 2 and 3.

Candidates applying for Maharashtra CET must check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The CET Cell has specified conditions that every candidate must fulfill to be considered for admission to courses in Maharashtra. The MHT CET 2025 eligibility criteria are

For Maharashtra State Candidates

• Candidates must have passed class 12/appearing in class 12 in 2025
• Candidate should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one subject among Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/Business Studies in class 12
• Candidate must obtain at least 45% marks in class 12. Candidates belonging to the backward class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category should obtain at least 40 % marks in class 12

Non-Maharashtra Candidates

• Candidates who are not from Maharashtra are also eligible to appear in MHT CET. Non-Maharashtra candidates also have the option of applying for BTech admission through JEE Main.
• MHT CET reservation policies do not apply to candidates not belonging to Maharashtra.

OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates

• OCI/PIO and NRI candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET. Such candidates can apply for admission based on class 12/equivalent exams. Separate counselling for OCI/PIO/NRI candidates is held separately after the admission process of MHT CET. 

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria- Courseswise

The application form for MHT CET 2025 will be released in January. MHT CET Application Form 2025 will be available online on the MHT CET website - cetcell.ahacet.org. The process of filling application form is a multi-step process that includes

Step 1- Registration

Step 2- Filling personal and educational details

Step 3- Upload scanned images of the photo, signature, and category certificate. Category certificate has to be uploaded only by reserved category candidates.

Step 4- Pay application fees

The application form will be automatically submitted once the application fee is paid. Candidates need to download and take a printout of their filled application form. The print copy has to be kept safe till the completion of the admission process as it is required at the time of college admission. The detailed step-by-step process to fill out the MHT CET application form is given below.

Step 1: Registration

The candidate must visit the official website to submit the application form. The first step is registration. Registration has to be done by entering a few personal details, a valid email address, and a phone number. The candidate will receive the application form login credentials at the registered email address.

Step 2: Filling Personal and Educational Details

• The candidate should fill their name in the application form exactly as it is mentioned in the Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets.
• The candidate must fill in the required personal details and education details in the application form.
• Candidates should carefully mention PCM or PCB or both while filling out the application form.
• The question paper will be available in English/Hindi/Marathi/Urdu. The candidate should mention the language in which they want to take up the examination while filling out the application form.

Step 3: Uploading Documents

• The candidate should upload his/her photograph and signature in the proper format and size.
• If the candidate has applied for the reserved seat, then the candidate must upload the caste certificate.
• Proof of identity, mark sheets, and other documents should be uploaded in the correct format and size.

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

The application fee can be paid either online or offline. The application form will be automatically submitted after the successful payment of application fees. Candidates will need to download the pdf of the filled application form and keep it safe as it will be required at the time of the admission process.

MHT CET Correction Window 2025

The Maharashtra State CET Cell will provide the facility to correct/modify the filled application form. To access the MHT CET application form correction window, the candidates have to log into their account using the Application Number and password. In case, the candidate has forgotten the password, they should click on the link that says “I cannot access my account”. After logging in successfully, the candidates will find three new links under the important link Menu.

1. Change Subject Group
2. Add Subject Group
3. Edit My Application Form

Change Subject Group: Under the change subject group, the subjects can be changed from PCM to PCB or PCB to PCM.

Add Subject Group: Candidates can also add the subject group PCM or PCB if they missed adding it while filling out the application form. The candidate must pay the application fee along with the late fee for the new subject group added.

Edit My Application Form: Using this link, the candidate can change the name, date of birth, photo, and signature.

The Maharashtra CET Cell has released the MHT CET 2025 Syllabus PDF. The MH CET syllabus is similar to class 11 and 12 topics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. Students opting for BTech courses need to attempt Mathematics while those opting for BPharma have to appear in Biology. MHT CET Class 11 Topics

As per the exam pattern of MHT CET, the question paper will be set with 20% weightage to class 11 topics and 80% weightage to class 12 topics. The exam will be held online as a computer-based test and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ). There will be 3 question papers,

• Paper 1 of Mathematics - Total 50 questions. A total of 10 questions from the class 11 syllabus and 40 questions from the class 12 syllabus. Each question will be of 2 marks. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
• Paper 2 of Physics and Chemistry- Total 100 questions. The physics part will have 50 questions and the rest 50 from Chemistry. Out of 50 questions in each subject, 10 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 40 will be from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration of the paper will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.
• Paper 3 of Biology (To be appeared by only Pharmacy candidates) - Total 100 questions. A total of 20 questions will be from the class 11 syllabus and the remaining 80 from the class 12 syllabus. The total duration will be 90 minutes. No negative marking.

MHT CET 2025 Exam Centres

The exam will be conducted in around 100 cities across the state and in a few cities outside Maharashtra. The exact details about the MHT CET exam centre of the candidate will be mentioned in the admit card. Candidates will be allotted an exam centre based on the choices of exam city filled by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. The exam city once allotted can not be changed. It is thus advised that candidates fill the exam city preference in the application form carefully. 

• MHT CET 2025 will be conducted online in almost all the districts of Maharashtra
• Outside Maharashtra, the Capital Districts of the selected states like Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka,  Jharkhand, Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh could be the centres for examination
• The test centre will be allotted to candidates based on the preference filled in the application form
• The exam centre once allotted will not be changed under any circumstances

The MHT CET 2025 admit card will be released around 1 week before the exam date. Candidates can download their MHT CET PCBM Admit Card online from the website mahacet.org. To download the admit card, candidates will need to login to the website using their email ID and password. After downloading, candidates need to take its printout to be carried to the exam centre on the day of the exam.

The admit card will include information regarding the MHT CET 2025 exam date and time, exam centre address, the paper for which the candidate is appearing, as well as the candidate's basic information (name, photograph, and signature). MHT CET 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

The details about exam day guidelines can be checked in the MHT CET admit card. Provided here are some of the general instructions which every candidate needs to follow on the exam day. Candidates need to follow the following precautions at the exam centre:

• Candidates must carry MHT CET Admit Card 2025 to the exam centre
• Candidates need to carry one photo ID proof along with admit card 
• Report to the exam centre as per the time allotted in the admit card
• Candidates need not bring any prohibited item inside the exam centre
• Carry a bottle of hand sanitiser 

List of Items Allowed and Prohibited in the MHT CET Exam

Candidates can check below the list of items allowed and prohibited in the exam centre. Any prohibited items must not be carried inside the exam centre as it could lead to debarment from the exam.

The answer key of MHT CET 2025 will be released by the Maharashtra CET Cell a few days after the conclusion of the exam. The CET Cell will first release the provisional CET answer key PDF which will also be open for challenge. Candidates having any doubt related to the answer in the MHT CET provisional answer key can raise objections online by logging into the official website.  

The CET cell reviews the challenge raised by the students and if the answer given by the student is correct, the answer key is updated. Candidates can refer to the MHT CET answer key 2025 to calculate their scores.

The CET Cell will declare MHT CET result 2025 in June. MHT CET 2025 result link will be available on the official website of the CET Cell. Candidates who will appear in the MHT CET 2025 exam can check their results online at cetcell.mahacet.org, the official website. To view the MHT CET 2025 results, candidates must log in using their registered email ID and password. Candidates must follow these steps to check for the result.

• Visit the MHT CET official website.
• Select the link that says "MHT CET 2025 Result".
• Click "Submit" after entering your login information.

The Maharashtra CET Cell will conduct the counselling in June for admission of the selected candidates. All the information regarding MHT CET 2025 counselling will be available on this page and the official website. For candidates from J&K and Ladakh, the CET Cell will organize separate counselling sessions. The MHT CET counselling 2025 will be conducted in three rounds. Registration for the MHT CET counselling will start in June.
