What is IPM Aptitude Test (IPMAT Rohtak)?

Integrated Program in Management Aptitude Test (IPM Aptitude Test or IPMAT Rohtak) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM Rohtak). The exam is conducted for admission into the Five Year Integrated Management programme offered at IIM Rohtak. IPMAT Rohtak is conducted in computer-based test mode (CBT). Candidates who successfully complete the course will be given an MBA degree and candidates who choose to opt out of the course after three years will only be given Bachelors of Business (BBA) degree. Candidates who clear the IPMAT Rohtak will be called for further admission procedure which includes a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

Q:   Can I write IPMAT exam after 12th?

Age: You should be born on or after August 01, 2003  (5 years of relation to the candidates from SC/ST/PwD category will be given). 

Qualifying Exam: You should have passed Standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examination in 2021, 2022 or 2023. 

Minimum Percentage (%) of marks: 

You should have a minimum of 60% in standard X/ SSC (55 % for the candidates from SC/ST/ PwD category). 

IIM Rohtak 

You must satisfy the following criteria to apply.

General, NC-OBC and EWS Category: You must score at least 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations.

Q:   What is the sectional time limit in IPM Aptitude Test?

The IPM Aptitude Test exam is conducted for two hours or 120 minutes. The exam is conducted every year in the computer-based test mode. There are three sections in the IPMAT question paper, i. e. Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. Each section is to be solved within 40 minutes. Since IPM Aptitude Test is a centre-based online exam the test screen will move from first section to the next section automatically as soon as the time limit gets over. Thus candidates have to be mindful of the on-screen timer and pre-decide the number of questions to solve in each section. It is not mandatory to solve all the questions in IPM AT exam so candidates can devise a strategy to use 40 minutes per section as per their strength and weakness. Candidates must also keep in mind the negative marking in the IPM AT exam. One mark will be deducted from the overall score for each incorrect answer. For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded.

The eligibility criteria for IPMAT Rohtak 2025 is as follows:

  • Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate in Class 10 or SSC and in Class 12 or HSC or equivalent exams for General, NC-OBC and EWS categories.
  • Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% aggregate in Class 10 or SSC and in Class 12 or HSC or equivalent exams for SC, ST and PWD categories.

Step 1: IPMAT Rohtak application form 2025

IPMAT and IPM Aptitude Test (IIM Rohtak) have similar syllabus but the difficulty level is different. Both exams have Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability sections. However, IIM Rohtak's IPMAT exam has an additional section- Logical Reasoning. While IPM Aptitude Test is an easy exam, IIM Indore's IPMAT is moderately tough but to say which is better totally depends upon the college a candidate is targeting for the five-year integrated programme. The participating colleges for both exams are different. If a candidate's dream college accepts IPMAT score, then they should appear for IPMAT exam. The IPMAT exam conducted by IIM Indore is accepted by other institutes such as IIFT, IIM Ranchi, Nirma University,  Alliance University,  NICMAR University,  Department of Management Studies and NALSAR University of Law. After the IPM AT result declaration, colleges which accept the IPMAT scores start the shortlisting process. IIM Rohtak also releases the schedule for the shortlisting rounds. 

Candidates can take part in the IPMAT counselling process if they get calls for the admission. The IPMAT admission process after the result declaration includes:

  1. Applications to be sent out to the institutes where you want to take admission.
  2. Participating in the counselling process which includes the Personal Interview (PI).
  3. Submitting the required documents if you have been shortlisted.
  4. Paying the course fee and getting an admission confirmation.

Q:   When will the IPM AT result be announced?

A:

The IPMAT Rohtak result 2025 will likely be announced in the last week of May 2025. The exam will be conducted in the third week of May 2025, tentatively. Once the exam is conducted, the exam conducting authority, IIM Rohtak will release the answer key for the IPMAT exam in a few days. The objection filing window will also open after the answer key is released. Once the objections raised by the aspirants are weighed and checked, the varisty will release the IPMAT result thereafter. 

The IPMAT result card will be available on the official website only and the candidates will be able to check their result using their login credentials.

Q:   Can I show the soft copy of IPMAT Rohtak admit card at the exam centre?

No, digital copy of the IPMAT Rohtak admit card will not be considered valid for the verification purpose at the IPMAT exam centre. Candidates have to carry a coloured printout of the IIM Rohtak IPM admit card 2025 to gain an entry to the exam hall. IPMAT admit card is a very important document which is to be carried to the exam centre along with a recent coloured passport size photograph affixed to it. Along with the IPM 2025 admit card candidates should carry the following items:

  1. Original Photo ID proof issued by the Government of India - Original Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Voters Card/Permanent Driving License Ration Card and Learners Driving License are not accepted as valid ID proof
  2. One clear black and white photocopy of ID proof
  3. Two clear coloured copies of the IPMAT admit card along with one original recent passport-size photo affixed on each of them

Q:   What is the IPMAT exam duration and slot?

A:

The IPMAT exam is held for two hours or 120 minutes. There is only one slot for the IPMAT exam. IPMAT exam also has a sectional time limit of 40 minutes per section. The candidates need to solve the question paper in 120 minutes and this means that the candidates will have approximately two minutes to solve each question. Candidates must take care of saving their answers at every step as the moment 40 minutes get over, the screen will automatically redirect to the next section. The test will end automatically once 120 minutes of the test are over. The IPMAT exam is conducted in the afternoon shift. Also, there is no provision for changing the exam slot. Candidates must make sure that they reach the IPMAT exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the examination in order to complete the frisking formalities at the entry gate. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre 15 minutes before the exam time.

IIM Rohtak IPMAT Exam Day Instructions

  • Carry the IPMAT Rohtak admit card to the exam centre as it is a mandatory document.
  • Reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam begins. Candidates should reach the exam centre latest by 8 AM. 
  • Do not carry electronic gadgets/ devices such as mobile phones, laptops, calculators, earphones, etc. to the IPM exam centre.
  • Carry a government-issued photo ID proof such as a Driving License, Passport, Voter ID, etc. for verification
  • Candidates who are new to the location must make sure that they check the exam centre a day before the exam to avoid last-day hassle.

There is no specific dress code for the IPMAT Rohtak exam. However, the students should wear light and comfortable clothes. Students can avoid bold prints, laces, etc. They must also refrain from wearing heavy and bold jewellery, mettalic items that may be considered security risk or distraction during the exam. Candidates should opt for wearing formal closed shoes and avoid slippers or high heels. 

Other things to keep in mind while dressing up for the exam day is, the students should dress up modestly and avoid revealing or overly casual clothes.

Q:   What all items can I carry to IPMAT Rohtak exam centre?

Every candidate must carry a simple blue/black ball point pen and a two copies of their passport size photo to the IPMAT Rohtak exam centre. They must not carry any stationary item other than the pen. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, IIM Rohtak's IPM candidates are required to carry drinking water, hand sanitizer, face mask and gloves along with them. They have to carry drinking water in a transparent bottle. No other item will be allowed inside the exam centre. They also must not carry bags or valuables as there will be no arrangement for depositing while candidates appear for the exam. Candidates must also not carry notebooks or rough paper to the IPMAT exam centre. Any candidate found with an unauthorised item will be disqualified and barred from taking the exam.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for IPM programme admissions at IIM Rohtak?

A:

The eligibility criteria for IPM programme admissions at IIM Rohtak is that candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examinations with a minimum of 60% aggregate for General category students. Students belonging to the SC/ST/PWD (DA) category will be given a concession of 5% in the total aggregate. This means, the candidates belonging to these categories should have a minimum of 55% aggregate to qaulify for the exam. Moreover, the selection process includes IPM Aptitude Test. To qualify for the exam, candidates must check the IPMAT syllabus and preparation strategy.

Q:   Is there any scholarship offered at IIM Rohtak?

A:

Scholarships are offered to all-rounders, and academic toppers in the institute itself. In addition, being a part of IIM Rohtak makes you eligible for attending nationwide scholarship programmes as well. The IIM Rohtak provides a total of three types of scholarships. These scholarships include a DPM scholarship, Financial Support for Conferences, and a Contingency grant. Further, in DPM Scholarship, the participants of the DPM programme will be given a Fellowship of INR 30,000 for the first two years and INR 35,000 after passing the second year. In Contingency Grantscholarship, the eligible students will receive a contingency grant of INR 1.85Lacswhich is distributed across four years of the programme. Moreover, in Financial Support for Conferences, eligible candidates are provided potential financial support for attending national and international conferences. Also, financial support is provided for academic exchange visits to partner institutions.
