CBSE will be conducting the CBSE 12th Compartment Exam 2020 for more than 87,000 students. Read further to know more.
CBSE Compartment Exam 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the CBSE 12th Results 2020 on Monday, i.e. July 13, 2020. The Board had announced the CBSE 12th Board Exam Result 2020 on its official website i.e. cbse.nic.in. The CBSE this year has evaluated the CBSE 12th Result 2020 on the basis of the new assessment scheme which was formulated as a one-time measure only. The new assessment scheme was brought after the Board decided not to conduct the remaining CBSE 12th Board Exam 2020 which was postponed due to coronavirus outbreak. The exams for the remaining papers could not be held due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

The CBSE 12th Results 2020 had shown improvement by 5.38 per cent this year. In 2019, 83.40 per cent students had passed, however, in 2020, the pass percentage stood at 88.78 per cent. The increase in the pass percentage this year clearly defines that the number of students who have to been placed under the compartment category has decreased this year. This year 7.35 per cent students have been placed in compartment category. In comparison to 2019, when 99,207 students were placed in compartment category, this year the number has come down to 87,651.

In case of the candidates who were not able to get qualifying marks in one subject or have not appeared for the examination in any one subject have been placed in the compartment category. As per the scheme of the examination, CBSE has to hold the compartment examination. The CBSE Compartment Exam 2020 Date for CBSE Class 12th students will be released by the Board soon, the Board said in a notification.
With an aim to reduce mental stress from students, the CBSE has decided to replace the term 'FAIL' with 'Essential Repeat'. Hence, in the result declared no “FAIL” term will be mentioned in the documents issued to the candidates and the result hosted on the website," the statement issued by the board said.

The board has also said that it will conduct an optional examination for CBSE Class 12th students in the subjects whose examinations were scheduled to be conducted from July 1 to July 15, 2020 as soon as conditions are conducive as assessed and decided by the Central Government.
This year, the Board has also decided not to release any Merit List for CBSE 12th Board Exam 2020.
