The declaration of the CBSE 10th results 2020 and CBSE 12th results 2020 completely depend upon the decision which is expected to be taken today. CBSE is supposed to submit its official decision to the SC's request to reconsider the conduction of pending exams.
Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE is supposed to submit its official response to the Supreme Court’s ‘request’ to reconsider its decision on conducting the pending board examinations. SC asked CBSE to share its response after a group of parents filed a plea, seeking cancellation of the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th exams 2020. According to a senior CBSE official, the board would be informing the apex court of its decision today i.e. June 23, 2020. An official notification regarding the decision would be issued only after the hearing and as per the top court’s directives.

A reputed source suggests, a senior CBSE official told reporters, "The decision will be informed to the court on Tuesday and an official notification will accordingly be issued as per directions of the top court.” Talking about the competitive examinations JEE and NEET, the official added that the, "A decision about the two exams will also be taken in accordance with the decision on board exams."
According to the revised CBSE 10th Date Sheet 2020 and CBSE 12th Date Sheet 2020, the exams are supposed to be conducted between July 1 and July 15. The conduction of pending board examination amid the rising emergency crisis due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus raised concerns among the parents and students. A group of parents moved the Supreme Court, requesting for the cancellation of the remaining 10th, 12th board examinations. The plea points out to the decision of the board to cancel the remaining exams in schools situated abroad. It also pointed out that 24 students were quarantined in Karnataka after the examination was conducted and the parent of one student was found to be COVID19 positive.
Apart from the request in the SC, governments of Maharashtra, Delhi and Odisha also urged the HRD Ministry to cancel CBSE 10th Board exams 2020 and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2020. Manish Sisodia in his letter to MHRD mentioned the non-availability of schools to conduct the exam in Delhi. A response is expected from the board on its decision on whether to cancel or not after the hearing today.
Parents and students have been anxious to understand the final decision as the CBSE board exams are about a week away. More than 10 lakh students (of classes 10 and 12) are expected to appear for one or more papers. Among these students, the students from the North East Delhi district are more concerned as they are supposed to appear for core papers such as English, Physics, etc. that they missed due to riots in the region at the end of February and in March 2020.
In a related matter, ICSE or CISCE, the other national board whose pending exams are slated in July, offered the students the choice to ‘either appear’ for the exams or ‘choose to get marks based on internal assessment, pre-boards’ as decided by the council. The students are required to inform their schools and update their choices by June 24.
Earlier, the HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th Results 2020 will be released almost a month after the conduction of the pending exams. The 10th, 12th, board results were expected to be released by August 15. However, now the release of CBSE Class 10 Results 2020 and CBSE Class 12 Results 2020 completely depend upon the decision which will be taken today.
