Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is MCA at Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research worth the investment?

A:
{Source: MCA students & alumni}

Is MCA at Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research (AITR) Worth the Investment?

Here's a summary of the key points:

* Faculty Support: Teachers are generally supportive and helpful, although some may behave rudely or not cooperate.
* Course Curriculum: The curriculum is somewhat relevant to current industry standards, but some subjects seem outdated. Additional workshops and training programs are organized to prepare students for the IT industry.
* Placements: Placements are average, with companies like TCS, Tasks, and Deloitte visiting the campus. The average package is around 4-5 LPA, while the highest package is up to 8 LPA.
* Facilities: The campus has well-equipped labs, a good library, and amenities like canteen, cafes, and buses. However, open Wi-Fi is not available everywhere.
* Campus Life: The campus life is good, with regular events and activities organized by various clubs.
* Scholarship: Merit-based scholarships are available, with OBC, ST, and SC students receiving a scholarship of approximately INR30,000 annually.

Based on these points, here's our verdict:

While AITR offers some strengths, such as supportive faculty and decent facilities, its weaknesses, including an outdated curriculum and average placement record, might raise concerns. Students who choose this programme would need to put extra effort into learning beyond the syllabus to stay competitive in the job market. Additionally, those interested in pursuing higher education might find that the integrated nature of the Master's programme is beneficial. Overall, whether AITR is worth the investment depends on individual goals and priorities. We recommend researching further and weighing the pros and cons before making a decision.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Q:   What is the expected JEE Main cutoff 2024?

+ Well-educated and helpful teachers.
+ Average package of INR4-5 lakhs, with the highest package reaching up to INR18 lakhs.
+ Placement rates are generally satisfactory, with around 60-70% of students getting placed.
+ Various campus events and festivals, including the annual ARDOR festival.

Partially dissatisfied of faculty with a good campus infrastructure and average placement from MCA.
Placements: From MCA department, out of 40 students near about 20 were placed. And the highest salary offered is 3.5 LPA. TCS and zensar is top most company. Mostly software developer role is allotted to students. Many students got internship in mostly startup companies.
Infrastructure: AITR is having a seperate building for computer application department with a very good ventilation and air. There is sufficient labs available for computer application department. Food quality is average. They provide good sports facility in our campus.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, if we go to their desk with any doubt, they help us out. But not every faculty is good and helping. If I talk about the course curriculum, it allows students to grab a better career. Most companies prefer BE students on priority and MCA is below BE.

Really good infrastructure and facilities but faculty needs to be changed.
Placements: On an average, in MCA 20% students get placed every year. The highest package offered was 8 LPA and the lowest offered was 2.4 LPA. Average package of placed students is 3.6 LPA. Top companies are TCS, Infosys, JusPay, Daffodil, and Zycus. The highest package was 8LPA and the lowest was 2.4 LPA, and the average was 3.6 LPA. 5% of students got internship through my course i.e MCA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is very good. It is spread over a very big campus. There are various departments and buildings all in the campus. There is Jio Wi-Fi in the campus and all kinds of labs like computer labs, mechanical labs, chemistry labs, etc. Are present. Labs are advanced. There is a big canteen and food quality is good. There is a cafe and stationary too in the campus. There is no hostel. There is a basketball court, tennis court, volleyball ground, and a cricket ground in the campus along with various facilities of indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful but all are not same. Some are rigid and rudimentary but some faculty members are very supportive, engaging and helpful. Although, knowledge of faculty members seems to be quite outdated as per industry. A big chunk of Syllabus is outdated where some subjects are still relevant. This course doesn't make you industry ready, you have to put extra efforts and study and practice apart from syllabus to land a good job.
Other: I chose this course because it was best fit as per my requirements like budget constraints, location constraints and career demand. It is a quite good course but syllabus needs to be updated. There are various events conducted over our campus under the various clubs like E-Cell, Yavnika Hobby Club, CodeRunner_FCA - Codechef Campus Chapter, and many more.
