I am dissatisfied because of the faculty.
Placements: Almost 81% of the students from our department get placed. Almost 40% of the students in our college get placed. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA. Companies like Zoho Corp., Volante Technologies, and Tech Mahindra offered placements to IT-related branches. Titan, Royal Enfield, Saint Gobain, etc., offered for core branches. Roles of member technical staff, technical writer, developer for IT-based branches. The internship was allowed in the final semester, and around 10% of the students got internships from our college. Companies that offered internships are Zoho Corp, Saint Gobain, and Royal Enfield.
Infrastructure: Our college has good Wi-Fi facilities in both the college and hostel. The Wi-Fi facility is sponsored by our alumni. Computer labs have facilities for the students of the department, but when conducting interviews for students of all departments, we need more systems which are lacking in the computer labs. There are enough books in the library. Quality of the food served in the hostel is terrible. Most of the food goes as waste into dustbin. The canteen serves good food at a low cost. The college has a huge ground for sports, but the equipment like balls are in shortage. The gym is too small and needs more equipment.
Faculty: Most of the teachers in our college are friendly, but they're typical government job workers. They have no passion for teaching or might have lost their passion after a few years. Very few professors are knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is poor. They're more concerned with spending the college fund than the welfare of the students. They don't even care for the welfare of the students. The course curriculum is fine, but it needs more improvement to reach out to world standards.
Other: I wanted to learn programming, so I joined the course. The best things are that you can learn more about new technological advancements, etc. There are several new programming languages in the field now. Apart from the basics, such new languages can be given as optional subjects. There should be more importance on the hardware part too. There are a good number of events and fests organised. Campus connectivity is poor. The college has only one bus. The government bus to go to the town comes in 15-45 minutes once. In the case of urgencies, it's hard.

Other: Alagappa Chettiar is one of the good colleges in Tamil Nadu. There will be lot of free time in college. You have to make use of it if you want to excel in your life. College will not spoon feed you. You have to learn yourself. Some good companies will come. You can also prepare for higher studies. We can enjoy our college life.
