Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.E./B.Tech Courses at Amal Jyothi

Here's an analysis of the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.E./B.Tech courses at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering:

    * Placement rate: Around 60% of students get placed, with notable companies like TCS, Infosys, IBM, and Amazon offering placements.
    * Average salary package: The average salary package ranges from INR3.5 LPA to INR5 LPA.
    * Company diversity: While there may be limited companies visiting the campus, students reportedly find placements on their own.
    * Placement cell reputation: Unfortunately, some students describe the placement cell as "rude" and "arrogant", prioritizing numbers over student welfare.
    * Industry connections: Faculty members may lack practical industry experience, impacting the relevance of the curriculum.
    * Self-initiative required: Students often rely on self-efforts to secure placements, highlighting the importance of personal networking and initiative.

Overall, while the placement cell appears to have a moderate success rate, concerns regarding its approach and focus on student welfare remain.

One of the good colleges to study.
Placements: A high percentage of students have got placement assistance from the college in reputed companies, and a majority of students have opted for Masters in the same college. The annual package for most of the students was 1-2 LPA. Also, the college provides placement assistance for the students.
Infrastructure: This college provides well-equipped labs with the latest technologies, which helps the students to gain more practical skills. A huge library with lots of referrals is provided, which opens a massive world to the students. The classrooms are equipped with smart boards for much quality education.
Faculty: The college offers subject tests every week, and during alternate months, internal exams are held to test the students and help the weaker students to get good marks in the external exams. The college provides internal lab exams for the students so that they get proper knowledge.
Other: The college offers many programs and fests which offer extra activities to students and engage in different activities other than studies. Annual sports meet, tech fest, Christmas, Onam, etc. are the main events that occur.

Excellence campus, excellent hostel. The only drawback is that food quality is average.
Placements: A good number of students have been placed in different companies. The average starting salary is around 15 to 30k. Students from ECE got placed in Royal Enfield too. Eicher, Tata, Wipro, and Infosys are some of the companies that students got placed from here.
Infrastructure: Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has a good infrastructure and facilities. It has a well-equipped gym, a department library, and well-equipped laboratories. The classrooms have large computer screens like smartclass. The hostel is one of the best hostels with good infrastructure compared to other engineering colleges. The food has different varieties and the quality is average. The campus and hostel are very clean and green. The college promotes games like football, cricket, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and handball. The canteen has an excellent ambience and the food quality is above average.
Faculty: The teachers at this college are excellent. They are friendly and have the capability to teach. Some of the faculty members are ex-students from my department. The exams are difficult because they are administered by KTU. The average pass percentage is 70-80%. The duration of each semester is only about 3 months for students under KTU. However, the college is now autonomous, so things are different.
Other: I chose ECE because it has more job opportunities than other courses. However, the length of a semester is only about 3 months, which is too short. On the plus side, the college now has campus festivals and celebrations, and a system called TBI where students can do startups.

Our college has great infrastructure but lacks in everything else.
Placements: About 35 to 40 percent of students get placed. I am not sure about the package. Mainly software-based companies are the recruiting companies. I don't know about the internship for my course in our college, so I don't know about the companies. TCS is the main company which recruits from our college.
Infrastructure: Our college has great infrastructure with many labs, classrooms, and a library available. However, the main drawback is the quality of food available in our college. The central library provides access to more than 1000 texts and journals.
Faculty: Many teachers are knowledgeable but lack communication with students, hindering the conveyance of their knowledge. However, there are also good teachers with minimal qualifications who know how to teach well. The semester exams are not as difficult as compared to the series of examinations conducted in the college.
Other: I chose this course predicting the changes in society, anticipating a great demand for this sector in the coming years. However, there are only minimal fests or events in our college.

It is a very good college.
Placements: Around 40% of students got placed, and most opportunities are from IT industry. The highest salary package offered is 55 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA. Top roles offered in our course are web developer, software engineer, and project lead.
Infrastructure: Our college offers good facilities and the infrastructure is also very good. Our college is one of the best among any college in Kerala. Hostel is good, with a canteen which serves best dishes. We have a lot of sports activities like football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and some indoor games. There are many prizes for those who participate in inter-college competitions.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive and helpful. They try their best to encourage students who don't score good marks. Semester exams are conducted by the university, so exams are a bit tough. Pass percentage is about 60%-70%. The course curriculum is not very relevant, as we are studying a lot of unwanted subjects that are not of use for pursuing a specific career.
Other: I chose this course because my ambition is to become a software engineer and the course is helping me to achieve it. Many extracurricular activities are conducted in our college.

Review of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering.
Placements: Our class has 70 seats, all of which were filled first, but 2 students left to pursue other interests. Recruiting companies are SOTI, Safran, UST, Cognizant, etc. Some students also secured internship opportunities, while some students secured internships in their last semester without coming to college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our college is good. We can't find a better infrastructure in KTU-based colleges. Wi-Fi is available with good speed, but due to increasing loads, speed decreases. Classrooms are also very well equipped with LED TV screens and projectors. Labs are good.
Faculty: Faculty members in IT department are very helpful, supportive, and friendly. They offer their help in any way they can. The course curriculum is not bad for IT branch since we study most technologies.

Review of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is not good. They just offer some local companies to the students, and the students have received very few packages. Also, they give placement assistance during the final year, which won't help students gain more confidence and preparation to attend interviews.
Infrastructure: There are big classrooms for each stream and each year. Also, they provide lab facilities, but some labs are very pathetic as they have very old and damaged equipment. The hostel they provide is very bad, especially the food, which is not even cooked properly.
Faculty: Teachers are just average. Some won't help the students in either way, but some staff are really nice, as they need all their students to be successful in their lives. Also, they provide two exams in between a semester to analyse the students academic progress. Also, the teachers give many assignments, and some might not be known to the teachers themselves.
