Is it worth pursuing B.E./B.Tech at Ambala College of Engineering and Applied Research?

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

* Placement Record: The college has a decent placement record, with around 80% of students getting placed last year. The highest salary package offered was INR6 LPA, while the lowest was INR3 LPA. Major recruiters include Wipro, TCS, Infosys, and Microtech.
* Faculty: Students praise the faculty's willingness to help, with most professors being well-educated and experienced. However, a few students mentioned that not all teachers are equally skilled.
* Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure, with modern laboratories, a well-stocked library, and comfortable hostels. While the hostel amenities could improve, the college provides free Wi-Fi throughout the campus.
* Campus Life: Students appreciate the peaceful surroundings and regular events, such as sports and cultural festivals, organized by the college.
* Scholarships: The college offers scholarships to deserving students, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds.

However, some areas for improvement mentioned by students include:

I am dissatisfied because of faculty and placements.
Placements: The college provides very few placements or negligible placement. Salary package offered is also low. There is no separate time for sports, and if students are playing in the ground during their lecture, then they will get a penalty or fine.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facility for students. They will provide you with a connection if you have a laptop. Classrooms and labs were good, and the library is also fine. They don't provide separate time for sports. Canteen food is not good and expensive. Infrastructure is not so good. The hostel is provided with Wi-Fi facility. There is no parking facility for students, and students have to park their vehicles near the college gate, which is very distant from the college campus.
Faculty: Only a few teachers are knowledgeable, and the rest of the teachers are the worst in teaching. Teaching quality is good, and the faculty is not so helpful. Only some teachers are helpful. There is no future of students after doing a degree from this college. There is no crowd of students. Very few admissions happened, and very few students are there in college.
Other: I have chosen this course because mechanical engineering is the basic course in engineering, and it is also an easy course. We can understand by doing an experiment, practicals, projects, etc. Faculty must be good to enhance the quality of course. Scholarships are provided. TFW is also there. Events, fest, etc., are celebrated in every 2-3 months. Athletic meet, sports day is also celebrated.

Good placement rate, Highly qualified and helping faculty, Surrounded by very peaceful environment.
Placements: The placement rate of our college is good. As a number of our seniors are recruited by various companies like Alwar & Alwar pvt. Ltd, Tata consultancy, Indosaw and many other companies. About 45% of students were placed and the highest salary offered was 6 Lacs per annum, the lowest salary package was 2.5 Lacs per annum while the average package was 4 Lacs per annum. Many students also get a chance of internship from college and were offered a stipend of Rs 12000 per month. There is a placement cell in our college and it is very useful as placement rate of the college increases very much.
Infrastructure: College is provided with all important labs, free Wi-Fi, library with all required books and the latest magazines of current affairs and business, classrooms are well ventilated, machines in labs works well and operated every week for a routine checkup.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. They help students with there doubts as there is a separate lectures for doubt session for every subject. The teachers consists of doctorates, post graduates, graduates. As the college is run by a well established multi millonaire company. The Students have a good industry exposure with monthly seminars given by very highly qualified bussinessmans.
Other: Various co-curriculum events also held in the college campus such as college annual fest (aayaam), Science fare, sports meet, blood donation camps, art exhibition and various other events organized by the department groups run by students.

If you want to opt for government jobs or other services, then go for it.
Placements: Most of the placements were through off-campus. The companies that came to the college weren't technical companies. They were searching for marketing peoples and were paying very less. Overall, we can say that there is no secure future could be made just after the graduation.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was okay. Most of the things were old. There were facilities like Wi-Fi, sports, library, labs etc., but nothing was like an extraordinary thing which can distinguish with other colleges.
Faculty: The teachers were of different levels. Some were experienced, and some were freshers, but I could get the quality I wanted for the education. Most of the teaching methods were theoretical with books and boards. A bit use of interest was provided. 1 teacher was provided for 45 students. The industrial visit happened 2 times during the whole course.
Other: They do not organise fests.

My overall experience of this college.
Placements: There are no placements for the mechanical branch. The college will not effort to bring good mechanical companies, but they always try to promote IT. Our seniors also did not get a good job. I think there is no scope in the mechanical engineering, you should go for IT for getting placement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. I think this is good for the students. We can give it a 4-star rating, but I think the college is located in a rural area, so there is little difficulty to go, otherwise, it has a good infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty of this college are good. They will give their better to make us better. They will always appreciate doing difficult things. They will participate in every activity, but I think there is a gap now in between the mechanical and other trades. But, they will not try to close them.

Good education and okayish placement. Join if you want to understand the basics completely.
Placements: The placement cell is not very active. The college mainly focuses on the education and not the placements. On the very first day of our college, the principal clearly told us that in this college they ensure that we get an excellent education but please don't expect a 100% placement. Their main motto is to provide great education. However, companies visit our college. Mainly, students of ECE and CSE branch get placed. There were ver few opportunities for mechanical students but I got placed.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is somewhat outdated. Benches and other equipment are not in good condition, even in the seminar rooms or laboratories. They make us sit on plastic chairs which are very uncomfortable. In few labs, there are only stools and we have no other option but to sit uncomfortably for 2-3 hours.
Faculty: The faculty is good. All the teachers care about completing their course timely and ensure that the students understand the subject completely. Some of the teachers are Ph.D. holders and also from IITs. There are only a few teachers who are not good at teaching and I think this would be the same case in every college.
