Review of Asansol Polytechnic.

Placements: Around 1/4 of students were placed out of 24 students. Some students also opt for private jobs, and others wait for placements. The lowest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA, and the highest package offered was decided through an interview.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was not good, because this college was old so management was planning for new buildings and modern infrastructure. There were three hostels i.e., one was a mining hostel for mining students, another one was Satyen Bose Hostel, and the third one was a girls hostel.

Faculty: Teachers were knowledgeable, and they share everything with students. All teachers were IITian. Our course curriculum was relevant to students, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams were not tough, and it was like normal diploma level. The pass percentage was 50%.

Great college to be honoured about.

Placements: About 20% of students were placed in our course. The highest package was about 12 thousands monthly payment while the lowest was 6 thousands monthly payment. The company's were Jindal, Tata etc. Our roles were mostly workers under the various surveyors of the respective companies.

Infrastructure: The college is quite good and has a neat and clean classroom. The library is also quite good. The lab work is also decent. The surrounding were also very nice as they help us in keeping our mentality and focus towards our study. The campus was also very good.

Faculty: The teachers were helpful and they were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching were quite fantastic. Up to some extent this course provides very good workers and leaders for the industry. The semester exams were decent as they were online during the pandemic of corona. The passing marks is 33%. .

Asansol Polytechnic is a very good college to get developed in a short time.

Placements: In the year 2015, not even a single placement is provided by our college in the branch of mine surveying because it is a 1-year post-diploma practical training. For this course, Hindalco Industries Limited, Ambey Mining Pvt Ltd, etc., are the top recruiting companies. Junior engineer/assistant engineer in the survey are the roles offered in this course. Initially, the highest salary package offered in this course is 4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 2.8 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3.4 LPA. Generally, after completing 3 years of diploma, almost 100% of students have been placed for 1 year PDPT (Post Diploma Practical Training) under apprentice in ECL (Eastern Coalfields Limited) collieries. After 1 year of PDPT, students will get Surveyors' Competency Certificate (Coal) from DGMS, and then students have to find jobs on their own in various companies. Students will be also eligible for any competency exam conducted by Coal India Subsidiaries.

Infrastructure: Technical facilities provided for students are very good for the branch of mine surveying. Classrooms are well-equipped. The quality of the hostel is not up to the mark, and old rooms are available in it. However, the security provided is good, and the quality of the food served is up to the mark. There is a medical facility outside the hostel campus. There is a huge ground inside the campus for sports and games.

Faculty: Faculty members in the branch of mine surveying of Asansol Polytechnic are awesome. Sil sir, P.K. sir and J. D. Sir are three main lecturers of this branch. They are very much knowledgeable and qualified, and they are always ready to help every student. The course curriculum of this branch is very much relevant to the industry needs. This course also provides a 6 months duration of additional vocational training at different collieries of ECL.

Other: I have chosen this course because it is excellent to get jobs for the role of a surveyor in the mining industry easily. It is due to less number of colleges available for this course in India. I suggest our college to introduce many latest technologies of surveying in this course. Campus life is awesome and unforgettable, and students get a social life. As this campus is situated amidst the city of Asansol, there is good connectivity of the network. Mainly, this campus is just 2 km away from Asansol railway station and bus stand. So, there is also good campus connectivity.

Overall, this college is amazing and provides good future to students.

Placements: It is a very good college with decent placement facilities. Many companies like Jindal, Hindalco, Usha Martin and many others come and pick students who are in their final year fourth semester. They also offer decent packages.

Infrastructure: Our college, Asansol Polytechnic, has very good facilities and decent infrastructure. It has good drinking water (both tap water and chilled purified water), and good desks and benches to sit comfortably and do work or study. It has a library with good books.

Faculty: The teachers in Asansol Polytechnic college are highly qualified, and they are from various renowned colleges (universities). Many were IITians. They are very helpful and helped my fellow mates and me very much in doing well in the semester examinations.

Other: There are various trades such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, metallurgy engineering etc. I chose mine surveying engineering as I am from a place full of mines which attracted me to this path.
